I'd pick the Proton for safety features. Proton is known for its air con, ride and handling and rigid build but is not so fuel efficient due to its weight. Small price to pay for staying alive.
Despite that, the 3rd gen Myvi is pretty stable and well composed even at higher speeds. Of course it's no match for Proton's ride and handling, but it's a big step up over the old Myvis.

the braking test should do 1-2 times more with changed lane because the place where the iriz brake got some sort of road repair bump. also the reaction to the brake when reach cone also play important role.

The gearbox is the main factor. Iriz is using CVT which is always changing gears based on the speed like a scooter. While myvi is using a traditional 4-speed automatic which could cause delays in gear changing.

Before people start flamewars on which car is better in the comments section, I just want to say both cars are very good, and I've driven both of them, so I'm speaking facts. The Iriz of course is super fun to drive thanks to its handling capabilities, no doubt about that. It's a very comfortable ride too. The Myvi on the other hand, if you really driven the new one, it's not an unstable deathtrap unlike the older Myvis. It's no Lotus handling and it's not as comfortable as the Iriz, but it still gives a sense of confidence during some spirited driving. Frankly I also like the drivetrain on the Myvi better compared to the Proton. Personally I'll choose the Iriz, but again, both are great cars.
As an Iriz FL Premium driver, I admid it. But Myvi is quite better in climbing/hiking situation. Their lightweight body make is faster in uphill situation like at Genting Sempah/Genting Highland area. Just tried it last year.

There are many factor need to considerate due to most perodua engine are Eco/Eev and fuel efficiency. So less fuel consumption then less power lor. You can detect the power loss during initial acceleration compare with Proton. But as we know, Iriz was known as "Myvi killer" since it release date for 1st gen Iriz.
Looking at the quite tall Eugin sitting in the tiny Myvi seat has easily made me switch car choices because damn his posture looks so uncomfortable! 😅 Anyway I still much prefer the Iriz on longer journeys. It feels safer at speed, and it's cheaper!

Iriz was always the better car even before it became geely iriz. People only began looking up to it since geely started making good strides in malaysia..oh well, that’s one good thing geely did to proton
The Iriz pre-Geely was better than the previous gen Myvi that was out at the time. The Iriz being overall the better handling and more well composed car. But early model Iriz had pretty rubbish build quality and up until recently when Geely took over, the overall drivetrain response especially with the CVT is very janky, not something I enjoy driving during traffic jams or navigating parking lots. If it wasn't for Geely, it might as well be game over for the Iriz and maybe Proton as a whole (I felt there was a time, after the Myvi came in 2018, not many were buying new Protons at all). The new Myvi was definitely a huge step up over the old one, sure it doesn't match the ride and handling of the Proton, but you still could drive it with some sense of confidence. And although less power, I'd take the drivetrain of the Myvi anyday over the Iriz's at the time, it feels much more responsive. I've driven both a few pre Geely Irizes and the previous and current gen Myvis on different occasions, so I roughly know how they feel like. I have not driven the 2019 Iriz yet, where they claim to have improved the drivetrain response, so I will not jump to conclusions just yet.

The 2016 Saga and its issues were still carried forward to the 2019 Saga and man oh man their QC and CS is terrible

I'd argue that the Myvi will still perform better in a crash than most 90's to mid 2000's Japanese cars, many of those are still on the road to this day. (Nothing against those older cars of course. Just facts.) Also, Malaysia at least have some crash safety standards, so I doubt it will be that bad. Look at places like Indonesia or India, their crash safety standards are pretty much very loose.

why didnt you do a rolling start too from 60kmh to 110kmh?some cars are quicker from 0-60kmh but start to lose their breath after 60kmh onwards....while some cars have stronger mid curve and excel from 60kmh onwards. For eg..KELISA is the first type.

I always felt that myvi 1.5 somewhat feels slow and underpowered even compared to the 1.3 which feels more nimble.
In an analysis, I think right Iriz is a lot more stable. Cos at 160km/h on the NS Highway, the myvi not stable. Maybe an extra 100 kilo stabilise.

Little advice.. Check the ac on or not.. You need to revv the myvi engine awhile to let the ecu remap to sportier mode.. And keep 2nd gear longer..

The Iriz pre-Geely was better than the previous gen Myvi that was out at the time. The Iriz being overall the better handling and more well composed car. But early model Iriz had pretty rubbish build quality and up until recently when Geely took over, the overall drivetrain response especially with the CVT is very janky, not something I enjoy driving during traffic jams or navigating parking lots.
If it wasn't for Geely, it might as well be game over for the Iriz and maybe Proton as a whole (I felt there was a time, after the Myvi came in 2018, not many were buying new Protons at all). The new Myvi was definitely a huge step up over the old one, sure it doesn't match the ride and handling of the Proton, but you still could drive it with some sense of confidence. And although less power, I'd take the drivetrain of the Myvi anyday over the Iriz's at the time, it feels much more responsive.
I've driven both a few pre Geely Irizes and the previous and current gen Myvis on different occasions, so I roughly know how they feel like. I have not driven the 2019 Iriz yet, where they claim to have improved the drivetrain response, so I will not jump to conclusions just yet.
@@germaineliew2012 the FL iRiz CVT is kinda heavy at the start (like conti cars i have driven) while P2's 4AT can have oversensitive throttle (like many Japanese cars)
Build quality pre and post Geely i think doesn't really matter here. The 2016 Saga and its issues were still carried forward to the 2019 Saga and man oh man their QC and CS is terrible
How do you compare braking like that between cvt and at, myvi was assisted by engine braking via at, while iriz, with cvt, feel no engine braking at all due to its efficiency chateristic..

I have try both car. My opinion, iriz much better. Im not interested with design. My needs is comfortable n handling.
At one point I being crazy about myvi adv but after watching sooooo many comparison between Iriz and Myvi. I go for Iriz.....arghh tq for let me choose which car to get....

I'd argue that the Myvi will still perform better in a crash than most 90's to mid 2000's Japanese cars, many of those are still on the road to this day. (Nothing against those older cars of course. Just facts.)
Also, Malaysia at least have some crash safety standards, so I doubt it will be that bad. Look at places like Indonesia or India, their crash safety standards are pretty much very loose.

why didnt you do a rolling start too from 60kmh to 110kmh?some cars are quicker from 0-60kmh but start to lose their breath after 60kmh onwards....while some cars have stronger mid curve and excel from 60kmh onwards. For eg..KELISA is the first type.
