I remember going to the state farmers market in Pompano Beach on a field trip in the 8th grade back in 1971. I remember all the Greenstein Trucks backed up to the docks.
there is a lot of info about Greenstein out there. The husband of Shendel Greenstein passed about a year ago. Just google Greenstein Trucking/Pompano Beach, fl. Still have a lot of family in the Pompano/Ft. Lauderdale area.
Also as another fact the mudflaps on the Greenstein trailers were black as in the model but had GREENSTEIN in white letters on the bottom of the mudflap. Also every Greenstein trailer had red marker lights(chicken lights) all the way around the back doors of the trailer to make it stand out even more in the night. I have pictures of the back of the trailers to support my facts and the exact look of the company logo on the back doors of the trailers (another miss ! ). Also Greenstein exclusively ran Great Dane trailers specially made for them and reinforced to accommodate excess weight. As for the misspelling on the tractor door decal it is easy to explain : This models are made in China and there is a language barrier that causes misspelling, it shouldn't be but it is. These Chinese do make lots of spelling boo boo's. There is also a picture book or a "Truck Photographer's Diary" by David A. Bontrager dedicated to Greenstein with lots of pics from the 1950's to 1980's that can be purchased on Blurb on line. For those interested on the history of this great company is a must have. I was an owner operator with Greenstein from Nov. 1987 to Sept. 1992 and my tractor is one of the trucks on the Diary.
Logan man I think I have seen a picture of a 86 inch sleeper Greenstein in one of phantom lanes video looking for the one now ....The truck had the same color sceam.. 5:44
I have scoured the internet for every Greenstein Trucking photo I can find, but never saw the exact same striping on an 86" Pete so if you find it, I would really like to see it. I'd like to know if it has the same truck number 149
First Gear did a poor job on reproducing real features on the truck and trailer. I early purchased from DCP and they also missed the logo on the back doors I contacted them and basically they ignored my complaint, then again I wrote them an email about the trailer doors hanging uneven and haven't even taken the time for an answer. They have no pride on the product they put out and didn't consult the proper people for the correct features on the model. I drove for Greenstein for 5 years and thought at first that I was buying a model to be proud of. Sincerely they're a dissapointment. DCP you should be ashamed of doing a poor reproduction of a company that held great pride for many years !

I get my bobcats serviced at the shop next door. Bobcat of Pompano has been there for years.
When is driving truck back in late 70s i use to see a lot of greenstein drivers in valdosta ga at the ta.
The majority of the Greenstein trailers had Dayton wheels on them. The sides, doors and nose were all stainless steel.

Logan, great work. Also, all Greenstein tractors were mated with a trailer having the same number as the tractor. No
Your truck had to be Green to run for them.
At one time yes but in the 90’s you could have gray or white as long as you had green accent stripes. I drove for them at that time in the early 90’s.
TRUCKIHG!! 🚛 They were out of Ns so they used the closest thing.
Must have been the case!
Does anyone know or remember the old truck broker Daddy O in Florida 😊
