Been playing BP for a lil while now, been looking for a way to really put his character to use n throw some uno reverse cards at people. Seeing you play has helped alot n gave me alotta insight on how to play him, I appreciate it n keep up with the good content
Bro nice content Just a little tip from another BP main 70 rep. Use a little bit more unblock from shield position and more cancel it time to time to guardbrake, it really helps sometimes. And use another bash that looks like heavy fake when BP runs with shield right on the opponent. It really helps bcos no one knows about that(always help at nobushis fights). Good luck mate
The unblockable position is only best to use a lot now, when back then. The reason why you would never use the unblockable in many cases is because the unblockables used during the video were put into a frame disadvantage for BP. This is due to the light hitstun which caused bulwark slash to be a huge risk to use during the fight. In this video, it was best to use less unblockables as if I had used more the enemy would be getting free damage on me. The heavy soft feint to bash you are talking about here is probably bps most useless move and almost never lands in High level. This move is so easy to telegraph no matter the distance and in fact, the bash itself can be reacted to making the move almost redundant. From one rep 70 bp to another, do not use this move as you will most likely be the one getting hit, not the enemy. However if it is working in your matchmaking then you are lucky to be fighting enemies that cannot react all that well. Thank you for the kind words and the potential help, but the tips you have provided wouldn't have helped during the release of the video. At this current patch, bulwark slash and his heavy thrust are much better moves to us now, however his soft feint? No, this isn't worth it.

Thank you for this :) I’ve never really done his chain heavies as I never thought they were that good but damn, I might have to start doing them more. It looks like it blends the animations quite well and helps hide feint into GB very well One thing I’ve found very lacklustre is his zone. Is it very good? I feel like it’s just not efficient for how much stamina it costs and I feel always better off doing a dodge forward bash, but what are your thoughts on this? Hate to be THAT guy but can I have some tips? I feel so bad lmao
No don't feel bad bro and yes his zone is pretty good. I'm glad you are learning bro and I wish you the best in improving. In regards to tips, there's not much I can say. But there is one which idk if you know. But BP has a forward dodge bash and forward dodge heavy mixup kinda thing. What you can do, is because everyone essentially reacts to the dodge to predict the bash. You can instead forward dodge heavy. What this means is, if they dodge attack or dodge bash predicting a forward dodge bash. Because you did a forward dodge heavy, u can bulwark stance their counter attack. It's a pretty smart way to force people to do attacks to bait for a bulwark. What you can then do, is if they start dodging and trying to gb. You can actually go into bulwark stance after dodge heavy and do the Unblockable. This will beat their guadbreak attempt.

@PuddleWaterBH yes the zone is very good. Because it can be hard to dodge and it drains stamina. Remember one or BPs core strengths is his stamina pressure. If you parry and bash or throw a forward dodge bash or utilise ur zone a little bit. U will drain enemy stamina mean they will attack you less and if you make them run out of stamina you have a big advantage with your unblockable pressure. And to answer your question about light after bash always. YES. never heavy feint to gb after bash, always light. This is because it's guaranteed free damage after bash. They cant block the guaranteed light after bash. Also the light can go into your unblockable. After you bash light. Go to your unblockable and feint it or let it through. Sometimes however, after a heavy parry. You might wanna do you Light bash Light mixup, or Light into undodgeable heavy. This is because this mixup is very good for BP and after any heavy or light attack you can do an unblockable for even more pressure. In regards to matchups. BP has good matchups against a lot of chars, for example he does well against most assassin's because you can actually bulwark stance deflects. If your enemy likes deflects, start throwing heavies after lights or neutral heavies. What you can do, is as soon as you throw the attack perform a bulwark stance to flip their deflect. This doesn't work against characters like beserker or shinobi BTW. As berserker has a GB deflect and shinobi Teleports.

I also know about flipping flip but, is it a good habit to get into external flipping? I think it’s a good habit of doing it but god it’s really weird, I’ve never actually done it and it’s a funky timing. Also, I hate Shoalin, what do you do against him to make him less oppressive?
@PuddleWaterBH external flipping is good, you can get free bulwarks on attacks that have big hitboxes and aren't locked on to you. Like medjay side heavy for example. If it's an external hit on ur friend and ur next to him, u can bulwark that attack. Heavy soft feint bash isnt very good and I wouldn't recommend it. If you wanna gank with BP, just utilise his bash, his light bash light, light heavy and his unblockable. In regards to fighting shaolin, again utilise your stamina pressure but you wanna play the patient game. Don't rush in trying to kill him. Take your time. Utilise your crushing counters on his attacks, when dodging sweep. Always dodge to the right and sometimes dodging left will actually get caught by sweep. Remember if they miss the qi stance kick get prepared to do a top light parry. Most of the times if not all, shaolins will throw it after a kick misses.
Nice. I have a quick breach 1v1 I just uploaded, flipping those nobushi chain lights and getting the parry on them feels fucking incredible. That warden would've given me problems for sure... did he even throw a single neutral light? Like bro come on, he essentially forced you to bash him to win and that's not the ideal way to finish a good duel. Take some tips from my fashion though 😁 just kidding bro, ggs as always
I peeped that too. The Warden was on the defensive side and got 99% of his damage from bashes and punishes. Barely any opening attacks. The playstyle is boring af, but optimal.
It 100% does feel incredible. Regarding the warden his playstyle was defensive but also unique, his fight was somewhat enjoyable and he seemed to know how to use the character well. Even as a defensive player myself it was interesting having to adapt to a more bash offensive playstyle.

That's just me as a spectator, that warden would've crushed me man and I hate to say it. I'm a 4s guy and good wardens are like the duelist's duelist! Even losing 0-3 can be a fun duel if the opponent is very skilled and it's close - I just try to learn something from the loss and try again! That you adapted and won in the end was really impressive, please give us some more BP 🙏
