    Sara - I’m so scared to use lye .. fear of upper respiratory problem.. is it that strong that I should avoid it- I’ve always avoided baking any soap with lye but feel I’m really loosing our on great soap making . I enjoy melt and pour .. what are your thoughts 💭 ty

    • @sarassoap
      @sarassoap  Год назад +1

      I totally understand. you could wear a mask and mix the lye outdoors the fumes are present when first added to the liquid. Do you have an issue with the respiratory system? in that case you could consult a medical doctor. hope this helps.

    Hi. Sara I’m following u on FB group too. I’m totally a newbie & have some queries too
    1). Can I replace sea salt with Himalayan salt? Plus how much salt u added into the oil? 2). Have u made a complete coconut soap or added with other oils? I have a plan to make a salt bar with coconut, olive & castor oils with 0% super fat. Wat do u suggest?

    • @sarassoap
      @sarassoap  3 года назад +1

      Hi 1. yes you can use himalayan salt, dead sea salt is not recommended though.
      2. yes this one is a complete coconut oil soap.If you do make a 100% coconut oil super fat it at least with 20%.
      I a regular multi oil soap recipe you can super fat according to your preference and depending on the usage. For skin I would do at least 5% super fat. Hope this helps. Have a great day.
