    Only Clan Line consistently performed without a diesel on the rear!

    Excellent locations! Perfect photography! The engines showed how it's done! Don't really mind some antique diesels. The usual high standards from 04Clemea. Thanks!

    Completely unfamiliar surroundings as I live in the very southern portion of New Mexico USA…
    However steam locomotives are the same worldwide, beautiful sounds and smells.

    when I visited England in 2017
    I actually went on the footplate of the Flying Scotsman

      Same here, but from a pack of fags each, driver & fireman , the footplate of Mallard at King's Cross Station, plus a toot , must have been @ 8.When the fireman got it right, with Welsh Anthracite & extreme superheat they were relatively pollution free & the steam & CO2 fed the vegetarian & gave us Oxygen, we use woodstoves in Spain 🇪🇸, a local pallet repair man has given me tons of complete pallets & have virtually a wall of offcuts, haven't the time to make things from it ,so I'm burning nail free Teak & have in Store a dismantled one of Balsa .Live many boys a dreaded spotter & at Thorpe le Soken in Essex there was a malthouse near the station , went there from Holland on Sea by Bike & saw the porter replacing the B.R posters , never though to save a few.I a over next April with my Spanish companion MariCarmen & will go to the Colne valley line .
      I live in Gaianes Spain & 200 m to the north was the "Tren Ingles " That my dad used
      ,Gandia to Alcoy , coal & machine parts in , citrus fruits , olive oil & tin ingots out .He died of a stroke & was amazed at where I had bought my casita. He also had a Douglas Dragonfly.

    Fantastic video, the sound of a steam train passing at speed always brings a tear to my eye, as I was too young to appreciate them when they were still in service. I was going to ask a question about the mismatch of numbers on the loco in the section from 2 mins 53 seconds where the caption says '45699 Galatea Great Strickland', but now understand that in 2021, 'Galatea' was disguised as 45562 'Alberta' and 45627 'Sierra Leone'. It looks as though the loco was in transition as it has 45627 on the front and 'Sierra Leone' on the nameplate but 45562 on the cab!

    I would love to travel on a Steam Train before I die, I have always loved the the smell of the smoke when I watched them from a bridge....

    Those steam engines are allowed to run on the mainline in Britain but except for the 9Fs and the WD Austerity 2-10-0s

    Although I admire the quality of this video, I find it so strange that, in a country so seemingly obsessed by climate change, steam trains are still allowed to operate. Is there any negative popular feeling about the operation of steam trains in the UK?

    • @04clemea
      @04clemea  Год назад +2

      The public feeling towards steam is very good and this is because there are so few operating, that the impact on the environment is negligible.
      Steam power machines use around 35000 tons of coal a year, in comparison to 6.2 million that was used in the UK in 2022.
      So we can enjoy them without much worry. The most difficult thing about them, is because they use such a small amount of coal, it's difficult to source good quality coal at an affordable price.
