And at 5:39, the reason why the trick works because the sounds are using all around frequencies. Meaning in the EQ, the low end = bass or notes that are lower, then the higher the notes = higher frequencies. So it sounds full because it is using all the frequencies to fill out the spaces.

inverting chords and making chord progressions flow is how you achieve good voicing...
