    Wait, people are still saying that clarinet isn’t a jazz instrument why? Because this sounded pretty jazzy to me.

      You are dead on correct about that.
      Clarinets can play jazz just as well as any other instrument.

    Ok like i wanna do this for my senior solo next year.... but it reached some high note that i didn't even know existed on the clarinet, and it had more key changes than I think could exist in hell. BUT THIS SONG IS SO DAMN GOOD!!!!!

      It is very just, if it's difficult, just play this octave down, from begin of passage.

    Sing, sing, sing, sing
    Everybody start to sing
    Ooh ooh, waah ooh
    Now you're singin' with a swing
    Sing, sing, sing, sing
    Everybody start to sing
    Ooh ooh, waah ooh
    Now you're singin' with a swing
    When the music goes around
    Everybody goes to town
    But here's something you should know
    Ha ha baby, ho ho ho
    Sing, sing, sing, sing
    Everybody start to sing
    Ooh ooh, waah ooh
    Now you're singin' with a swing
    Swing, swing, swing, swing
    Listen to the trumpet swing
    (instrumental)
    Blow, blow, blow, blow
    Listen to the trombones go
    (instrumental)
    Sing, sing, sing, sing
    Everybody start to sing
    Ooh ooh, waah ooh
    Now you're singin' with a swing
    Sing, sing, sing, sing
    Everybody start to sing
    Start singing
    Keep swinging
    Now you're singing with a swing

    Bonjour , vous devez avoir un sacré studio d'enregistrement , j'aime bien le paragraphe sous la vidéo, parlant de Louis Prima , ses compositions sont toujours d'actualité de 1936 à 2016 , j'aime le jazz et surtout votre système d'écriture sur la porté ♪♫♪ c'est beaucoup plus lisible et facile à suivre . Merci pour votre partage , il est parfait . Amitié - Pat .

    1:03 I can do it from d to c (its in Rhapsody in blue). But how do you play gliss from b to super high f? is it even possible?

    • @annabellagambito
      @annabellagambito 6 лет назад +5

      사람 Rhapsody in Blue is an amazing song! Especially the clarinet solo (my favorite part XD) And yes, that part you’re talking about IS possible...it would take tons of effort to not be able to squeak though. XD

      It is, the way I do is the same as the rhapsody glissando but I utilize the throat D and E, then slap tongue onto the F

    • @kevinmaldonado9847
      @kevinmaldonado9847 5 лет назад +2

      It is possible to gliss that high. I don’t really know how to explain it but I kinda gliss up like in Rhapsody and then slowly finger the high F. I just practiced that over and over again till I got it down.

    • @natekite7532
      @natekite7532 5 лет назад +6

      The higher you gliss, the less important throat and keys are and the more important your lips and cheeks are. Make adjustments to your embrochure rather than your airflow.

      I’m a 7th grade clarinet and in order to play my all region TMEA, I had to learn how to do that really fast, I recommend just practicing those two notes. I did that and I learned how to do it really fast in about a week

    When mainstay jazz stopped being danceable and lost strong and beautiful melody lines, the clarinet was kinda forgotten. But whatever you can play on an alto and soprano saxophones, you can play on a clarinet. It's just a matter of whether you decide to play a clarinet, or not, because the clarinet requires more skill and more sophisticated ear to play well than a saxophone. It is because the clarinet must play the lead melody line, and play it really well and with confidence. (Jazz) saxophone players after bebop often play "chord progressions" and "scales"; the emphasis in mainstream jazz stopped being on memorable melody, but shifted on endlessly changing harmony, which nobody can dance to, or feel any beginning or an end of phrasing. That's the problem, which cost mainstream jazz a huge loss of audience. In the aftermath, mainstay jazz sax players can't play interesting melody well even if their lives depended on it, but, unfortunately, nobody is asking them to do it. But as a clarinetist, you must excel in melodic lines and search for suitable genre. For example, clarinet can work well in "cool jazz", "third wave" and "soft jazz", danceable Brazilian, Cuban jazz, etc; whatever Paul Desmond played on an alto saxophone, you can do on a clarinet.
