For some unknown reason, the original ITV airings of Prisoner did not show the Grundy/Network 10 logos for the beginning of the 1980 season (in fact, they continued showing the 1979 version for a time) before the edit as shown here. They were then reinstated about half-way through the 1980 season. However, they were reinstated on the Channel Five airings.
This is the end of episode 148 of Prisoner, which according to one of its fan sites was shown on Sat 23 April 1988 on Central. So this appears to be late night Sat 23 April going into early morning of Sun 24 April 1988.
By the way, this wasn't a season finale. It was about three-quarters the way through the 1980 season. But you're highly respected for not knowing that!

Interesting at 2:00- a pub with not an ashtray to be seen, 19 years before the smoking ban!
whats the music called on the ginsters cornish pasties advert
For some reason, both actresses at the end of Prisoner seem to be laughing their heads off as they fall to the ground!!
Indeed they were, LOL!
I love the news style - and the stories from ITN in 89 are always about Yemen and the like!
