I love it since the first track! Epic Finnish music for life! Now there are Kalmah and these guys who still do great riffs instead of keyboard led songs like Wintersun did
Children of Kalmah. I do enjoy it, but Kalmah will always be my #1 band.

This sounds nothing like CoB or Kalmah. They incorporate a ton of black metal into this. You can go as far to just straight call this black metal.
The best and skilled melodic death metal still came from the first 3 CoB albums, they songwriting is beyond human. Wintersun and Throne of Chaos also delivered godly solos in their first one

Scheiß auf Vergleiche mit anderen Bands!Das klingt sauber! Ich höre diese Töne oft, frage mich nicht dabei von wem die Riffs sind.Das ist Allerfeinstes finnisches Schaffen.Die haben außer Holz hacken nur Musik machen im Kopf!!!!!!!
Für Finnen ist das Holz hacken und irgendwann hast du auch jedes Holz in jeder erdenklichen Art gehackt, da kann man nicht mehr anders hacken, selbst wenn man möchte.
Das mag sein, doch ein gehackter Holzhaufen sieht immer wieder schick aus. Besonders wenn man den selber gehackt hat und dem Nachbar gefällt er auch, der nimmt auch etwas davon. Der Andere läuft vorbei und heizt mit Oel. Du Verstehst?!

Everyone seems to forget about amorphis... maybe some keyboard warriors out their are too cool for that(thats so 90s)or just 15 ish and relapse records efforts(the hey day for metal)in my opinion but im old... without them nobody in finland would have ever been anything more then a pub band in helsinki but its been recognized which is awesome= finns make great friends make fantastic venison and potatoes and killer metal but for everyone saying this is the best band groundbreaking blah blah blah its all been done in 1990 very well by others so embrace the music but do some research enjoy.

just my unimportant opinion here lol but since people are saying children of kalmah and what not i must say suotana sounds better then kalmah. this is coming from a guy who has purchased the double cd package from kalmah and also a swamplords t shirt so yes i am a kalmah fan and always will be. but to my ears, suotana gots em beat
I have listened to every single Kalmah songs so I beg to differ that this band is better. The only band that can possibly top Kalmah is Wintersun and Whispered which is both from Finland too. \m/

Wintersun is mostly garbage fillers and not comparable, whispered is great but not really comparable either. I also know every damn kalmah song and purchased almost all difital songs a long time ago as well as a t-shirt..... Still my opinion Suotana is better then kalmah, just like your OPINION is they are not. But for sure quite a few bands top wintersun and whispered, Wolfheart to throw one out has not made a single bad song or album and even the jari fan boys admit his latest album is not great and a ton of fillers even though it took him like 187 years to make. Old wintersun has some amazing songs no doubt, and whispered is awesome so not bashing either. But your arguing my opinion which i clearly stated is just a opinion with your opinion but trying to make it sound like fact

It doesnt sound like cob, the drums are way too fast , the guitars are more simple and melodic and the keyboards too, but the vocals are similar

Everything was exactly perfect until the keyboards solo`ed at 2:45.. That`s where I am leaving this band without revealing it further.. Sad.
