Beautiful work. Everyone has their own favorite products. The Collage Quilter only uses steam a seam lite because she said it is thinner and she uses a lot of small pieces that overlap slightly. It is permanent too. After she has completed a project, she steam irons and says that the lite adhesive plus the steaming makes it much easier to quilt. I have only just started collage quilting, but that is what I am using. But I say whatever works for someone.

yes, the lite is permanent and thinner. Also, as most of applique is quilted or edge sewn, it isn't going to come back up anyway

I was going to object to her description of Lite Steam a Seam, but others have already commented. It is merely thinner than the regular weight.

Sorry, but what you said about Steam a SEAM LITE is not true. I used to own a quilt store, like you, and I just checked the Warm Company (the Manufacturer)'s website: "Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 offers a repositionable, temporary stick and when fused creates a soft permanent bond." When Fused, it is permanent just like the regular. The difference it it is thinner, so if you are doing an applique with multiple layers, it will not become so thick. Personally, I used Lite on big pieces, and regular on small pieces.

Boy, that’s one last name I’d change!
