I attempted and completed my first 100 miler four weeks ago. I had previously completed three 100k races. I credit my strength training that got me to the finish line of 100 miles. I worked really hard in the gym. All the upper back work paid off too cause my pack all those hours never bothered me. My crew was amazing. Best of luck!
Smart. That upper back late-race pain can be anywhere from annoying to race-ending.

Maybe it's just the way you've edited these videos together, you give the impression that you like the idea of running, and specifically the idea of ultra races, more than you like actually running. You don't talk about running, about training, about the physical aspects of preparing for an ultra.
That’s a good point. I can see how it comes off like that. I love running and training! But I have had trouble getting that love get me across the 100 mile finish line which is my obsession!
@@borderlandstrGood to hear! An episode of the series with a respected coach would be great, how best to train for the uber distances is still a bit of a mystery to me. Get some big boy training miles in, crank out some hard workouts, and I'm sure you'll smash the miler.
What are the white barrels for that are in front of the van? Love the video.
Thanks! The interviews were filmed in a coffee warehouse. Those barrels are for transferring large amounts of coffee around the warehouse!
