- This video is a quick guide on how to stop Internet Explorer from redirecting to the Microsoft Edge browser. Sometimes it may be necessary to use Internet Explorer to access really old systems that don't work in Edge. You can stop Internet Explorer from launching Edge by disabling the IEtoEdge BHO browser add-on.

Hi, I just tried your method. All well until the last step: it does not have the "disable" choice for the redirecting.
Same here. It won't allow it to be disabled.
@@lieutenant146 You need to disable it manually in regedit
if you click on it and then more informations go to the path that is there and just delete all IEToEdge files
I have a problem that my disable is greyed out
I have same problem, could not disable because button is greyed...
@@strsha if you go to c:\program files x86\microsoft\edge\application\edge_version\bho. Delete the files in that folder and it should disable
@@irclaw42 worked previously, now it's useless
@@irclaw42 i have deleted the whole entire edge folder and nothing worked
I ended up having to run a windows 7 virtual machine on my laptop. That did the trick.
hey, a few years ago you did a tutorial on how to fix "windows unable to sign in error" , i followed it but when i restart my computer the files are the way they were before
I tried that and the Disable button is greyed out
try disable with registry
yeah i dunno how this guy got his disable button to not be greyed out. I think that is the real magic trick here
if you go to c:\program files x86\microsoft\edge\application\edge_version\bho. Delete the files in that folder and it should disable
@@tokyo2k293thats not there either

@@tokyo2k293 i got the same thing and I did it myself
@@tokyo2k293 it's useless now
Thanks a lot bro. It's working for me.
It's hidden in the "run without permission" for me and there is no disable :(
i have a problem, it still launches edge, the thing is, i already had it disabled
How to remove trojan Microsoft Edge?
If ur disable buttons are greyed out, check out my new tutorial on how to disable internet explorer redirecting to edge, it works for EVERYONE and is easy to understand.
Here is link to the video: ruclips.net/video/eRGY7pW-thY/видео.htmlsi=A14n_racdXsB9Cia
Ty, great tutorial, that actually worked!
It did not work
You need to disable with registry
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Ext\CLSID]
"{1FD49718-1D00-4B19-AF5F-070AF6D5D54C}"="0"
This is the only thing that worked for me. You're a genius. Saving this one. Knowing Microsoft, they will probably patch this hole soon but for now, October 3, 2032, it works! No matter what happens in the future, I want the world to know you caught a major W with this one.
Thanks for the tip this worked.
add-on is disabled, but still ie redirects to edge
Thanks, but you could have just accessed Internet Options from Microsoft Internet Explorer instead of going to control panel !
without any reason few system its not working, portal/apps not loading.
His point was, if IE is hijacked by Edge, you don't get a chance to enter Internet Options from IE.
You can't enter IE Options this way until you've fixed the actual issue, so you got to find another way.
Going back to the old style Control Panel was one way to do it.
But Microsoft removed this option a few months back already, because they know you don't really want to use IE, and you really want to use Edge instead.
Update or remove the video please, this is outdated solution.
Sorry, good video but it did not help me.
mate its not that easy , well its not hard , but y ougonna do it via REGEDIT
