Thanks for a nice review Jody, I'm glad to see you enjoyed your time with the Nordsø :) A big congrats on all your success with Erebus. Kind regards from Denmark, Henrik
I love my Nordso. Great quality watch (I have the red face, black bezel version). I also have the Sekvens as well (blue version), its a fantastic dress watch.
I have the Nordlys in the Neon purple with colourful minute markers and I love it. This was before they had a bracelet and when the crowns were square, but the more conventional crowns now are a better idea. The dial is stunning, the brushed bezel stops it being too dark, the colours are understated but fun and the watch has a very premium feel. Plus, the owner is a genuinely nice guy who cares about his watches and his customers.
Looked amazing on the wrist shot, at the end of that’s all that really matters. When you did the pocket shot I know it’s a watch if I saw someone wearing I would be thoroughly impressed.
One of the recent trend brands on RUclips that seems nice, but the malachite premium is enough to make the watch compete with some impressive opposition. In Aussie dollarydoos it's a $1000+ hit. The thickness is sweet and the cyan version was on the shortlist for my gf. Nice review.
Funny that you linked to a Formex review. They also offer an Essence 39 with a malachite dial, but that will set you back nearly $2000. Makes this look like a bargain.
@elihollingsworth6852 , I've never seen either in person, so I can't speak to the finishing. The Sellita is definitely a movement upgrade. Formex has been on my radar for years, but I keep finding other watches I want more.
I love the purple dial version! Never been a fan of malachite, but that's a personal preference. I think I need to find one of these for myself to do a review on as well! Love to send you one of my Seiko mods to have a go at! Excellent as always! Keep it up!
This brand has been popping up on my social media feed quite a lot as well. I was intrigued enough to check them out and based on a couple reviews it does sound like these watches are well made overall. But no reviewer has mentioned misaligned markers. I'm glad that you noticed and brought that to attention. That's a deal breaker for me in general. I do concede that all HA watches do look very pretty in all their color variations. As pretty as HA watches are I am holding off until this brand matures a bit more.
Should totally have gone with a skeletonized rotor on the back! If you're going to show that movement off. Nice watch.... I think I would have really liked a rounded sapphire bezel insert on this one.... Would have been an extra flourish to set off the design.
This is yelling on a very high niveau. The watches are stunning good Quality and yes, you must decide, will you have the exclusivity from the malachit dial. Here it is not the dial himself, it`s the exclusivity you get. I got a Versterhav Meteorite Dial and I´m very satisfied with this watch. Yes it´s mor expensive as an normal Vesterhav. But every watch is "one of a kind". And it looks amazing. Yes Henry Archer Watches are the real Deal. If you know what you want.
The malachite is a choice so that’s fair enough, though personally I think the premium is a bit steep. The watch in general is really nice I think, literally the only issue for me is the bearing rice bracelet. Pushpins is very much a whatever for me, no biggie, but the retro vibe of the beads of rice doesn’t fit with the watch head for me, I’d prefer an oyster or jubilee. None the less, the standard versions especially are a pretty appealing proposition.
Jody, you took the words right out of my mouth. I thought “my meteorite blue dial Zelos……300 M running a Miyota 9075 was just $629.00 TT&L 6 months ago. “ The entire watch was superior to this watch. Great review as always man. Thanks!
Only 5 of these were produced for reviews, so the dials were hand assembled, and likely printed using a silicon press. A full production run is more automated when it comes to dial printing, so this will not be a problem with the retail watches, and you can be sure that Henry Archer will be carefully checking for this now.
I just love Hank, whether in watch or personality (now I feel like I'm unofficial their spokesperson haha, I even plan to buy his next watch (and he allows me to call him just Hank too)
Nice. It really shows you how competitive the microbrand world is becoming. The choices are overwhelming. Easier to watch videos and dream vs deciding and laying down a bet with hard earned cash and regretting it when something better comes along. Erebus excluded of course!
fair play mate..totally agree..their purple is a very unique bright purple...thats where i would spend my money,..the malachite is nice....but not 700 dollars nice...glad "you" reviewed it ..id seen a few other channels have it on....but i needed the honest scotsman angle ..lol
What's with all this Diver movement? (not watch movement) Why is everyone so hyped about the diver watches? Especially those who rarely dive in a pool, let alone really dive. "Is that a diver watch? Yes. Oh, are you a diver? No. But you occasionally dive. No. Sometimes? Never."
@@JustOneMoreWatch I do own two divers, but I have a Casio collection and the Duro and the MRW-200H could not be forgotten. I still wear my 1926 most of the time, but I agree, they look nice. I just ordered G-SHOCK MIX TAPE DW-5610MT-1JF. When can we see that on your channel? :)
Actually Green is my favorite color.... and this is beautiful. And I love the beeds of rice. With the indicies... the issue might be due to the Malachite texture itself. Not sure though LOL The price I'd have to agree with you, although you often pay more for a Limited run, like this one is.
You know, I just noticed the watch movement assembly animation at the beginning of JOMW videos is a weird and rare left hand winder. The winding pinion & keyless works are on the left of the movement like it would be if you flipped it over, but then the dial goes on right over that so we're looking at the front side of the movement, right side up. It's a Sub dial on one of those new lefty green GM2. You're welcome.
I think this a beautiful timepiece, absolutely love the shade of green. That being said if I received a face that wasn't close to horizontal like yours my OCD would kick in and drive me bonkers. And for that reason I'd be out.
I just want to compliment Henrik on pairing bracelets that fit perfectly with the watch. Way too many other affordable watches have endlinks that dont elegantly fit the watch case.
With all the microbrands vying for customers I've been looking for one with a different movement, the La Joux-Perret G100 for instance. Right now not available on watches under $1000.
That's a nice looking watch, don't care for the hands much but love the thin mid-case, more micro brands need to use the miyota 9 series. There are definitely reasons to use push pins, bracelets can be made thinner, pins don't fall out when coffee table watchmakers don't use lock tight and watch companies don't have to replace bracelets when for mentioned watchmakers strip heads or threads of screws. I don't see the big deal about screws in bracelets, we went without them for 100 years.
I think I'll go Phiobos voyager with the same malachite dial material, my mum and daughter want to get me a 50th birthday pressy and can pick them up for about 50% less😊
That’s quite the markup in price! Thanks for showing the zelos to provide perspective with that price. Personally, the design is just too generic. Looks like any other off the shelf micro brand.
Would have liked to have seen that lollipop pass through the center of those round hour markers. I feel like I’ve seen this watch so many times already from other manufacturers at a lower price and a higher quality.
Thanks for the review. Very thorough as always. I'm glad you mentioned the Zelos malachite. At pre-order the Zelos was actually $549 for a better movement and gilt indices and handset. I like the Henry Archer offerings but have not pulled a trigger yet for one. Like you suggested I might hit the MWS and snag a purple one, though. I really don't see the value in this one especially since I have the cheaper and better-speced Zelos.
I have one of the 5 existing Nordsø Malachites here, and also one of the Zelos Malachites, which is a great watch. The Zelos was sold by Elshan literally at cost price since it was produced for a private group, so was an utterly amazing value which would be hard to beat IMHO. (No wonder they sold out so quickly!) I run a watch store and can buy Zelos wholesale but for this one model, we had to pay the same price as everyone else, the only time we've ever had to do that with a Zelos. There are some noticeable differences with the malachite if you put them side by side. In particular, the Nordsø Malachite has a more polished semi-gloss look where the Zelos has a less vibrant more matte finish, which is what you typically see.
Hmmm not a diver but if you want Malachite you could do a lot worse than a Signum Sollus for $529. I like the Pearl ones better but as far as this one goes it’s quite a nice watch, just not in this dial edition. Totally agree with Jody and looks like they may have a few QC issues too!
I know this one is a colab but why are all the other Henery Archer watchs on the MicroBrand website have have the MB logo and not the HA logo or name. I don't want the name or logo of the store where i bought my watch on it.
This is the only Henry Archer watch with the The Microbrand Store logo, and it can only be found on the back, on the rotor. Maybe you're confusing Henry Archer's logo with The Microbrand Store's logo? Both are round and are a similar attempt at playing with each brand's initials.
I must be a member of the wrong watch groups because I’ve never heard of Henry Archer until now. It all seems very vanilla marketing led to me, but hey. Personally, I’m wearing the new Duzu DW-D3, now that’s a proper design!

I can see it being worth 400 USD and no more than that. I would not pay extra for that weird green dial. That is just my opinion. I also hate limited edition watches, it usually means much more expensive. I like the bracelet and the easy adust clasp as well as the thinness of the watch. I can't ignore the QC issues, it feels like a Seiko diver watch that does not line up with the dots, and the bezel is not aligned either.
It’s a great watch. That’s a good point. That’s a lot more for a malachite dial. I’m sure there are some people out there who will really want it though. Thanks for the great review. So any hints as to what the next Erebus is going to be? Field, Pilot, GMT, Tourbillon? Thanks as usual.
Not a bad looking watch, but I'm not really a fan of the beads of rice look on the bracelet. For the price, I'll get a Zelos instead, but I'd complement the owner if I saw one of these on the street.
Phoibos have a good looking malachite dial watch (Zelos being sold out); it is an NH35 but if you get the 15% off for registering then it’s around $300 which seems fairer than the Henry Archer. I do have a Nordso and it is a nice watch but I wouldn’t be a very strong advocate at that price. Finally, as with Abalone dials, they always pick the very best example for the publicity photos and so the one that you get is inevitably a come down - learnt that lesson.
Looks really good Jodi...a little bit too similar to other divers though...SM anyone? Also the markers would have been better matching the hands.. I may have been tempted, but i have my eye on an Erebus once i have the funds available very, very, very soon. Loving the T, btw, MOTU was legendary...although Thundercats was my main go too along with TMNT 😊
Fad or enduring fashion? I'm thinking in a few years people who buy this colour are going to wish they had spent their money on a classic black, white or blue dial?
Imust say its a pretty watch but I agree about the ceramic, stone dials are more expensive but thats Tissot territory for a non established brand........
Looked at the thumbnail before reading the description. I thought it was a vid for SIGNUM making an update to their Cuda line. Malachite dials aren't new. About 2 years ago I sold (regretfully) my SIGNUM titanium no-date Cuda with a gorgeous Malachite dial.😢 Due to the 42.5mm case size it didn't look or feel thick while housing the NH38 movement.
Seeing how citizen packages its 9000 series movements vs how any other brand packages them makes me laugh a little. It’s like yes the outer space is part of the movement but citizen them selfs cover on the nb series or the citizen “the citizen collection” Jdm models the one with the paper dial and the normal dial ones specifically have the movement packaged and on display perfectly. I equate this too a works f1 team vs a customer f1 team🤣
$1k AUD for a Miyota powered diver ! Dangerously close to the $1k + NH35 powered William Wood imo.... i bought a Miyota 9000 powered Baltic Aquascaphe NUMBERED edition for under $1000. These brands really need to get better at building value into their watches. Does look great tho. But if i gotta choose between this and a 2nd hand Oris Divers 63 or Longines Hydroconquest, not much of a choice.
Woa. Did you say that you removed all the links from the bracelet to get it to fit your 7 inch wrist? That means it will be too big for anybody with a sub-7 inch wrist.
It's a pity Jody forgot to mention that the bracelet he has is not the final production one, which works well on 6 inch to 8.5 inch wrists. (Actually goes under 6 inches and up to about 9 inches.) I have one of those here.
G'day Mate, followed you for a while now, and I am always intrigued at some of the watches you have reviewed. Keep up the engaging reviews. May I ask if you review other main stream watches i.e. with all the interest generated by the Chinese 'Year of the Dragon', I recently bought the new Swatch 'Dragon in Motion' Model YVZ100, to add to my collection of Bulova, Seiko, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Longines .... Just curious on your thoughts. V/r Mark V
Here's a piece of info on Henry Archer watches that is nowhere to be found: in which country those are being manufactured?) The straps are from Italy, ok, and the rest...?)
Hi everyone! I don’t know if I read it correctly (I’m not an English native!)… but is it posible they misspelled “Designed in Denmark” on the case back? Is it a prototype, perhaps? Anyway, just wondering about that… Pretty sweet skin diver nonetheless! And great review as usual…
Sigh. Oh, Jody. I'm going to have to stay off RUclips and the Internet. The Erebus Origin was the final watch purchase of 2023 for me. I've been trying to be good in 2024. It was so hard to pass on the Zelos Aventurine Blacktip, but I did. I'm going to try to resist this too. I actually need to do some culling. Great video though.
dont think you warned us that you were going to flip the camera and have a look. then it seemed like you were flipping the camera throughout the video, not sure, but very seemless, Jody. Wonder how this skin diver looks next to the San Martin skin diver you reviewed. thank you, Jody.

I love my Nordso. Great quality watch (I have the red face, black bezel version). I also have the Sekvens as well (blue version), its a fantastic dress watch.
i actually like push pins. no need for loctite, no screws backing out, and you can adjust w/ a thin wire or actual thumb push pin.
I agree...screws look better but I've had a couple back out, one completely. Either will suffice for me
My Zelos Aurora's screws were so seized with loctite that I had to get the bracelet replaced.

Green being my fav colour means I love this watches dial. The case is nice as well.
There is a misalignment between the batons and the indices at 12. The bezel markings are not aligned with indices either.

nice watch i do like no thanks to expensive.... cheers
Fad or enduring fashion?
I'm thinking in a few years people who buy this colour are going to wish they had spent their money on a classic black, white or blue dial?
I mean excellent outfit choice there!
So Henry Archer is making watches as well as the first Warp 5 Engine? His son Jonathan will be so proud!!!!
Ok Jody, time to make a malachite Erebus for us.
"Henry Archer" sounds as Danish as "Christopher Ward"!
It's actually an Anglification of the Danish owner's name: Henrik Schødt.
Imust say its a pretty watch but I agree about the ceramic, stone dials are more expensive but thats Tissot territory for a non established brand........
I want one ! And good video
I agree with ya on this one,,,, I do like the watch though,, very nice
Henry Archer Norso... or Wise Adamascus AD8?
Looked at the thumbnail before reading the description. I thought it was a vid for SIGNUM making an update to their Cuda line.
Malachite dials aren't new. About 2 years ago I sold (regretfully) my SIGNUM titanium no-date Cuda with a gorgeous Malachite dial.😢
Due to the 42.5mm case size it didn't look or feel thick while housing the NH38 movement.
Love the shirt!
M’ello from Denmark! Spent Christmas by the Danish ‘Nordsø’ shore 🥶
This watch is great but the price is not. I agree that the standard dial is the better value
Where is date wheel?!
Woa. Did you say that you removed all the links from the bracelet to get it to fit your 7 inch wrist? That means it will be too big for anybody with a sub-7 inch wrist.
No, still two more to go. 6.5 should be fine. Cheers!
It's a pity Jody forgot to mention that the bracelet he has is not the final production one, which works well on 6 inch to 8.5 inch wrists. (Actually goes under 6 inches and up to about 9 inches.) I have one of those here.
@@TheMicrobrandReview That's great news for folks like me with a smaller wrist. Thanks for clarifying.
From the home country 🎉🇩🇰
Danish design 👍
Fantastic dramatic pause
Ha! Next James Bond?
G'day Mate, followed you for a while now, and I am always intrigued at some of the watches you have reviewed. Keep up the engaging reviews. May I ask if you review other main stream watches i.e. with all the interest generated by the Chinese 'Year of the Dragon', I recently bought the new Swatch 'Dragon in Motion' Model YVZ100, to add to my collection of Bulova, Seiko, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Longines .... Just curious on your thoughts. V/r Mark V
The Swatch looks like a lot of fun mate! I'll keep my eyes open for one. Cheers!
The hyping up of this specific watch and dial reminds one of the hype for the Tissot PRX....
Yes.
Here's a piece of info on Henry Archer watches that is nowhere to be found: in which country those are being manufactured?) The straps are from Italy, ok, and the rest...?)
I have no doubt, China, like most other things we buy and own.
@@JustOneMoreWatch Thanks for answering. To avoid any speculations, isn't it mentioned in the papers?
Id prefer if they were Sterling Archer
Hi everyone! I don’t know if I read it correctly (I’m not an English native!)… but is it posible they misspelled “Designed in Denmark” on the case back? Is it a prototype, perhaps? Anyway, just wondering about that…
Pretty sweet skin diver nonetheless! And great review as usual…
The bracelet and clasp is 100% the same as on some san martins.
Sigh.
Yes mate! No camera flip, trying a new presentation method. Seems like it is working so far. Cheers!
@@JustOneMoreWatch Well done. your editing, camera work, lighting presentation & etc is all top class. very professional. Thanks so much. I thoroughly enjoy
No Date, no number markers on the bezel. I get it, its more of a fashion watch than a tool watch. Looks great but not my type of watch.
"DESIGNED IN DEMARK". oopsie!
Indeed! Their website has photos with the correct spelling. I've just sent Neil an email about this one. Cheers!
😭 all these really cool micro brands doing 40mm cases, just too small
