Imagine if Kiryu's neighbours from Yakuza 3 Just shout "hey Kiryu, aren't you supposed to be dead?" When he walked away from morning glory.

It's especially sad because Kazama's prediction of Kiryu's life turning out horrible came to fruition. Our Yakuza boy really needs a happy ending...one day...
I was thinking about this exact moment a few days ago, too.
Nishiki died a premature death and became everything he would've despised when he was younger, in 0. He became corrupted by the world of the Yakuza.
While Kiryu did survive all of his ordeals, it's easy to say his life was even worse and more painful than Nishiki's, exactly because of his ties to the Yakuza. He lost almost everyone he's ever cared about, from Nishiki himself to Kazama, Kaoru (if you wanna count her), Rikiya, Daigo (on the brink of death in 3 and technically 5, since he got shot and Kiryu had that outburst. He even had to fight who he considered a son in 4 to set him right) and even Haruka in 6 almost dying. You can also easily add the kids from Morning Glory orphanage, when they were attacked by Mine in 3. Kiryu has obviously had a longer life than Nishiki, but it was a much more painful one.
It was exactly this that Kazama wanted to avoid when he beat them both up in 0, and like you said, it was a perfect prediction, penned by a genius. Even Kiryu himself admits many times through the series that although he's Yakuza through and through, he hates it because it constantly endangers those around him and he can't do much about it, because he can never be a regular civilian again. It's really a tragic tale, if you put it all into perspective, but Kiryu remains headstrong throughout it all and still tries to provide the best life he can for his children, until the very end.
What a fantastic series.
I like to believe in Kiryus eyes, all the time he spent with Haruka and the kids made his life not so horrible. He got to see them grow up, got to see Haruka have a child, has guarantee that Haruka and the orphanage will be safe, and kiryu was probably very happy despite the many people and sacrifices he had to make
It's very impressive how well Kazama readed the future for Kiryu, and in each game, becomes more and more evident why Kazama wanted Kiryu OUT of the yakuza life.
He can go to a massage parlor.
I think Kiryu will get a happy ending in Yakuza 8.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life was definitely the biggest emotional rollercoaster of the Kiryu saga. It is truly a honor to watch your entire play through of the Yakuza series CrystAAHHL.

I see that Kiryu took the Akechi approach: pretend to die, go into hiding until the world needs him again.
So Akechi isn’t actually dead then, & Joker truly did see him in that post credits scene in Royal

@@rtiq270 when you start the gameplay is a bit of a challenge but once you get used to it you end up obliterating the enemy with one single move once you have maxed out everything
I have a lot of issues with Yakuza 6 but that moment where Haruto sees Kiryu broke me. I was a sobbing mess throughout the rest of the ending and the credits. I'm crying a little bit now just watching this.
I was balling during that moment.
Even though he was only a baby, Haruto had developed such a close bond with Kiryu. It was so sweet and genuine. He loves his grandpa.
I can only dream if they will ever meet again years later and having Kiryu reunite with the rest his whole family with the Haruka, Yuta, and the kids again. He deserves to a happy life.

They made a really great job at making Iwami and especially Sugai, so damn hatable. And this is the end of the Kiryu Saga, whenever I see the ending to Yakuza 6 I can't help but cry but hope that Kiryu had a much happy ending with Haruka
Kiryu's hatred of Iwami serves as a testament to just how despicable and scummy Iwami actually is.
Not counting 0 as it is before Kiryu's ideals were properly formed and he became the Dragon of Dojima, he held something of a high opinion of the final bosses of their title; Nishiki, Ryuji, Mine, Daigo and Masato, hell even sub-bosses that were less deserving of his approval like Arase and Hamazaki.
Not the case with Iwami, the task on the top right lists Kiryu's thoughts and he says 'He is nothing to me.'
@@dragonquest8ftw1 right? This is like the second time that Kiryu out right has no respect for his opponent, aside from the first one from Yakuza 5, and it is really interesting!

I’m so fucking pissed that the devs let them get off so easily I mean shibusawa did much less and kiryu almost killed him
@@dragonquest8ftw1 Someya was the true rival of Yakuza 6. He actually respected Kiryu and Kiryu respected him back. Someya was just another man who's life was ruined by the Yakuza.
Ichi is such a great protagonist, he's definitely worthy of taking the reigns of the franchise now that Kiryu is a retired dad, and, bonus points, he's voiced by the same actor as Nishiki.
I was pretty hesitant about getting into Yakuza LAD because Kiryu's story is over, but the writers did a great job at making Ichiban likable right off the bat! The new battle system is also really fun once you get used to the change!
LAD completely blown away all of my expectations with not only reinventing the series for a new generation but to go with a Turn Based RPG game instead of the typical beat them up while still retaining Yakuza Absurdness and Heart
Kiryu is more of a clueless badass dad while Ichiban is a lovable himbo friendship is power.
@@BeNNNdude Yeah, lAD is just one of the best yakuza games, i was not convinced at first by ichiban and the new combat system but i ended up liking the game so much that i invested more than 110 hours into it to complete everything
they did a great job on the game itself but the combat is painfully slow for me so i doubt i'll play it. And i doubt i'll play judgement because i'm not that into the story. Kiryu might make a return in the west still with a few titles that didn't get released here.

There would’ve been a war caused by retaliation otherwise, could it be argued that the landscape of Y7 only exists because of how much Daigo loved Kiryu?

I beat Y6 recently (now I’m going through 7) and it’s now one of my favorite entries in the series next to 0 and 5.
6 was definitely a much more emotional, personal story that I feel had a fitting conclusion to Kiryu’s journey. That being said, I truly am going to miss our Dragon. It feels so empty not seeing Kiryu for a long time. He deserves nothing but the best and absolute love/care. 😥😥
Ichi is a great follow up protagonist. I think he may be a well worthy successor to Kiryu. Long live the Dragon of Dojima.

a little over 3 months after you uploading this and I finally finished yakuza 6 myself just now! what a rollercoaster this game is, and I can see that in your reaction towards the ending too. I purposedly didnt watch this video until I finished the game myself to avoid spoilers and I am so happy I was finally able to watch this

Kiryu "giving" his life for his family is such a great way of wrapping up his character arc. He'd seen so many people die for him over the past 11 years that he finally bit the bullet to make sure it wouldn't happen again. Genuinely astonished at how amazing this game was.
I like how it's so rare for kiryu to get emotional, making it more impactful whenever it does happen. Also, R.I.P. Kiryu-chan (officially, anyway).
She'll probably enjoy Like a Dragon more than the previous games, seeing how she isn't a fan of the beat'em up gameplay. Should be fun seeing her play it.

I’m so excited to see what the series will be doing going forward from yakuza like a dragon, kiryu has such an amazing legacy in these games and I think this was the best way to cap off his story 😇🙌
What a journey that was, I'm really happy for having the opportunity to watch all this emotional Rolecoester with CrystAAHHL, hope I can get Yakuza Like a Dragon before you release the new chapter of this saga :D
The end of Kiryu’s saga hit me harder than I thought it would. But I also mainlined all the games during quarantine within a couple months.

I just started play yakuza 0 3 month ago, now just finished yakuza 6, and i play through the all series after the other,
Notes: i am a man with job, just got free day on saturday and sunday, even in this time my office still not lockdown

I started November 2020 with 0 and finished the series by mid June 2021 with LAD (not counting Judgment). After that point, I took a solid break from the series.
I was still quarantining during the time and received unemployment. I personally had all the time in the world to kill. So, I took my time playing through them.
EDIT: I also completed a good amount of sub stories and mini games and didn’t skip through the dialogue, so there’s that to think about.
@@OnMyLastNirv Nah Tanimura and Shinada should get their own game together. They're the abandoned hidden gems of Yakuza, both their stories and characters deserve much more. Especially Shinada, he was the best part about Yakuza 5. Ichiban would love him.
And Tanimura has a lot of potential for an interesting cop story kinda like Yagami. Actually he could show up in Judgment and it would fit.
Of course that's just me inhaling a ton of hopium.

I thought I was strong enough to watch the ending. I cried when I first watched it myself after finishing the game. Then I cried again watching Shen's stream. This ending his a cursed cryfest for me.

@Ryka I found it strange on why people thought it was written to haruka, kiryu has clearly shown haruka how much he cares about her as his daughter daigo on the hand he always looked up to kiryu but he didn't get anything from him
@Ryka I mean the game is about Haruka. She didn't need the letter. Daigo since Yakuza 2 has been thrown on the backburner by Kiryu. He deserved it and that letter made me shed the most tears out of any scene in the series.

Crystals Yakuza series has been such a joy, this adventure was so funny to me and really sweet, I'm glad for her showing me the Kiryu Kazuma Saga... So what I was hoping for... was that Kiryu and Haruka/Haruto take the money and go live somewhere else, like Europe. But I think they (the developers) need Kiryu as a failsafe, just in case 7 and beyond aren't liked.

What hit hardest for me here was Kiryu acknowledging his mistakes with Daigo and that he did so knowing he considered Daigo his son as well, it's so true, it's like the writers prepared for Kiryu's utter failure toward him, handing him the Tojo Clan then having him disappear to Morning Glory, even among that and even Kiryu trying to push him away in the opening in Y5.....Daigo always looked up to Kiryu because when push came to shove, Kiryu put aside his own security to protect him.
You can see both sides in feeling if Kiryu deserved Daigo's acknowledgement, but I'm glad he got it.
I wonder if she'll play Like a Dragon with JP or English voices-
I think she plays it with the English voiceovers. But, I can tell you that they are good both ways.

As much as I'm sure the dub is great, I just don't think I could tolerate the parts with Majima, Saejima, Watase, Daigo, or Kiryu without the JP actors. Plus Nishiki's VA being Ichi

Damn, I just played Kiwami, but I think 6: Song of Life is a LOT better than Kiwami 2.
Original 2 is way better than Kiwami 2 tho.
They cut a lot of things and some cutscenes lost their impact with the soundtrack changes.
That leaves Yakuza 7 like a dragon, Yakuza dead souls spin off game from PS3, spin off judgment game along with it's sequel coming in a few months lost judgment, there also seems to be one other spin off game I forgot about set partly in kamuruco in apocalyptic world I think fist of north star lost paradise on ps4
