10 Things to do in Mekong Delta

Mekong Delta is located roughly about 180 kms from Ho Chi Minh City.
The Best way to experience this Historic River would be to take up a guided tour. The tours begin with 20$ and are definitely worth it.
The journey to Mekong Delta is about 3 hours long. The tour bus picks you up at 8 am from your hotel. (They do stop by at a coffee shop just so you grab a quick bite and a coffee )
Here are 10 things you can do at Mekong Delta
1. Visit a traditional Vietnamese Bamboo factory, check out the various products that are made with Bamboo.
2. Visit a Bee farm , you can check out how the farmers extract honey from the Longan flower. After witnessing the extraction you are then served with some fresh tea with natural honey and bee pollen followed by squeezing local lemons. This is really refreshing and is served with Tapioca Chips.
3. Hang out with a Python- You can get a few pictures clicked with a Python
4. Try out the worlds smelliest fruit- Durian
5. Get a horse cart ride on the way to the boats
6. Trek to a local cultural village
7. Mekong River cruise- This is probably the main attraction in Mekong Delta. You get onto a cruise and explore the river on a boat.
8. Local Vietnamese Lunch- After the river cruise you are taken to a restaurant for lunch , if you are a vegetarian do let your tour company know in advance.

10. Check out the Vietnamese Pagodas at the Vinh Trang Pagoda complex. - one of the biggest sleeping Buddhas in Vietnam is located over here.
