Hi a quick infographic if you may about my personal experience in music : I personally made the decision to step away from the spotlight , I chose to stop creating content music wise and ultimately in general for a while, I can’t speak for anyone else but my deal was also pretty Shit as well and I ended up stuck in this completely garbage indie deal, I’m not back to releasing content, as well as working on my first view videos , but I really don’t blame anyone but myself for my lack of notoriety , there’s a lot more work to be done on my end
It's a team effort between the label and artist for sure, I do not know much specifically about any of your guys' situations but it seems odd to me that almost everyone who gets signed slows down significantly. I doubt that I have some golden answer to exactly how/why this would be but I do think that this genre needs to be built out more and that the label is not doing nearly as much as they would with an already defined label. I essentially think the label needs to be more active in establishing the genre.
@SadBoyProlific I was just wondering when you'd next release a song. Then saw this comment. I'm sure I speak on behalf of millions of people, but I can't wait. I hope music industry or whatever isn't giving you too much shit, you got so much talent and every song is a heartfelt classic
Glad to hear it, hopefully on good terms. I wish all you guys luck and always appreciate hearing from you all. You know where to find me if you want to work on something, would love to learn more about the industry.
Happy to hear that you can now work on music the way you want to at your own pace, which could be slow sometimes (like like the song we are all waiting for with kyle beats haha.) Waiting with excitement for the concert in Dublin
Uploouddd moreeee dude... legit listen to you everyday... respectful mention: 'Would Look Perfect' and 'when we were 16' are my favs... keep up the good work and you have never let us down... you're real my friend.
as a lofi artist, i feel like a lot of us like to rock independently, which can kinda hide us. btw this is SO sick to accidentally find ur channel- i’ve never seen a lofi channel like this dude, u got a new fan
I would be interested in working with all of you guys no doubt. Interviews would make sense, The Story of Videos where I have you guys elaborate on certain parts would be good, and separately if every lofi artist could put out more high quality pictures of themselves thumbnails would be much easier for anyone who wants to make content on you guys.
@@MattMiranda I’ve deff started taking photography for my career a lot more seriously , if you ever wanted to get that in whether it be a session between me and you or multiple artists I’m always down bro
@@MattMiranda We need interviews so bad...Rxseboy I think has only done like one or so but a more in depth one would be sick..especially with the other lofi titans SadboyProlific & Powfu.
Bro, thanks for making these videos about lofi artists, they're honestly my favorite. I think it's pretty cool how you're adding to this genre's history
Honestly it saddens me how small Lofi-HipHop is, its my personal favorite genre of music. Thanks so much for this video, it was SO well put together and everything dude. A thing that does make me happy though is that those artist are branching out and making music outside of their genre, like Powfu with his punk rock stuff that hes started doing. (Also just a side note ur hair looks amazing when its that long lol)
I agree with you here, it is important for these guys to explore other music for their careers and just as an artist. Also, my hair was only buzzed because my gf wanted it, I knew that would look awful but eventually I figured I would cut it to prove it.
I have talked to some artists that I will not name about this and things have either fallen through or I got left on read. I don’t hold a grudge as everyone can be busy but without these guys getting on the same page I cannot afford to fly many places and I feel as though the zoom interviews are stale. It would be nice if we could all meet up somewhere and I plan tons of video to grind out on a select weekend or week. I’ll try to make something happen but idk.
Thank you for putting these artist in the spotlight its such a cool genre's, ive been listenning to powfu for the last i would say 5 year and im mindblown that no one around me knows who he is
There’s a lot of stuff behind the scenes in the music scene that I do not know, but the treatment of this genre truly baffles me and I am so curious as to why certain decisions were made from the labels with the most to gain. Might be putting to much blame on them though.
Right now Lofi is not in its best state. Fortunately it seems as though people are getting freed from their contracts and given an opportunity to make a buzz for themselves like they once did. I, personally, feel as though the major names in the genre NEED to come together to elevate each other, which would in theory elevate the genre, which would in theory elevate the individuals more. At the end of the day if there are 5-10 people making noise it will always be louder than 1-3. I would love to help this genre grow from a content creator perspective but I don’t think I can create the buzz myself. If there were to be a group chat for putting this together though, I feel as though I could be helpful. Without people getting on the same page I don’t see things going so well. Again, if we can get some people on the same page then we could work together and really make something happen.
Sarcastic Sounds is one of the luckiest and unluckiest of them all. He hit it big in 2018-2019 with his lofi beats and I personally recall a time when he said he wanted to remain independent because he feared what would happen under a record deal. He got his deal and hit it somewhat big again with songs like say goodbye, but since then his output has been sparse, but not because he isn't working. He co-wrote one of the most streamed songs of 2023, which despite recent album bombs, was the 17th most streamed song globally on Spotify yesterday. His presence in the lofi genre has seemingly shifted closer towards being a writer and producer for other aritsts, which is sad to think about because he was my #1 artist on Spotify Wrapped in 2019 and 2020.
wait which song are you talking about "was the 17th most streamed song globally on Spotify"? and also where are you getting the data? i'd curious to look at other songs
I have to say, despite this not being a very popular video in terms of my channel (which I wasn’t expecting) it is nice to see some of the big names in this community coming together and mentioning their thoughts. I really feel as though there is potential for this community to make something happen, but that depends on the artists and the community to work together which is not a guarantee.
Powfu’s only real high quality interview was the interview with Genius, where he sung his song in acapella and talked about the origins of the song. It has now since been put on private/deleted for whatever reason, but he does have a live home performance of deathbed on Genius.
I really love the type of music but as he said I don’t feel like that they don’t put them selfs out there and actually get the attention that they deserve
Hey! I just discovered your channel and its absolutely amazing. I've been listening to these guys since forever. Would you be interested to do something on about 9tails/sewerperson?
Both appear to be very small artists, I already am working in a niche that is not really the best for my channel but I do want to try to find a way to help out smaller guys if I get bigger
what about rav? he is one of greatest lofi rappers out there edit: most of his new stuff is lofi some isnt edit 2:or maybe even lovesadkid also a lofi rapper. i now realise i completely missed the point of this video lmao
I think this applies to generally everyone who makes Lofi music but I am not as deep of a fan as others. It just sucks that talented people aren’t getting their recognition.
