Speaking to the philosophical and psychological reasons for using these techniques, rather than purely the effect on composition was most helpful.

I really enjoy your videos! you've got a really natural way of communicating ideas and even though I only take photos of aviation rather than people, I get a lot from watching.

Good video. I like that concept of using a foreground object to add interest to either negative or non-compositional space within a frame. - clever. I also like that quote from Susan Sontag - it's so obvious when you say and yet feels like a revelation. I'm inspired to put together a session on the subject of voyeurism - cheers for that.

Yup, I think it's great to understand and not just be vaguely aware. Voyeurism is a very interesting topic that makes for some great story telling. Have a full time project / series that you always build on - you will be amazed

I love using foreground objects, and the possibilities are endless on what to put/hold in front of the camera. Great video and inspiration as always Clinton. Could I ask what size that Octabox is (at 3:19)? Is it the 140cm?
    Cheers,
    Eivind

Hi Eivind, it's a 120cm. I find anything bigger to be clumsy on location. The other thing is that sometimes as little as a 60cm softbox is enough to balance the available light. Results are just as beautiful.
