Woah! I was blown away immediately upon clicking on this. It's so rare to discover a new power metal band that has all of the above: a unique singer, talented and varied instrumentals, good lyrics, and good mixing. On top of all that, it also has a good story! I feel like I've hit the same once-in-a-lifetime jackpot that I did with Unleash the Archers! Stupendous work, consider me your newest fan.
Track 13 is by far my favorite! That and Acolyte! The whole album is awesome! But the penultimate song just makes me think of what would have been like if things had gone differently on mustafar....
I keep coming back to this album! It's liquid gold in my ears. My favorite songs are Legend, Carry the Weight, and Offering to the Void. Legend- that time signature is *everything*. The chant-like sound in the chorus combined with some of the best lyrics I've heard in a power metal chorus in actual years are absolutely divine. And the instrumentals!! The main guitar rune is soooooooooooo good. Carry the Weight- this one is heart-wrenching. Your guys' vocalist absolutely sends the emotion in this one and manages to keep his theatrical tone while also having a quietness to it: "You could have saved her life" and "Bound to the oath I swear, but do they even care?" and "A familiar voice is screaming run away!" fucking speak to me. The instrumentals are more subdued on this one, but when the guitar is allowed to open up in the bridge section, it flawlessly heightens the sense of guilt and anger and helplessness without uttering a word. The freaking guitar feels emotional. That's one hell of a feat. Offering to the Void- THAT OPENING WITH THE DRUMS AND THE RHYTHM GUITAR! THE CRESCENDO BUILDING IN THE LYRICS! And then perhaps my favorite musical "moment" in all of power metal so far, the sudden intensity of "awaiting the fall". I get chills every time. And the story moment here has such incredible imagery to it. Every song on this album is good, just wanted to highlight my faves and try to articulate why I can't stop listening to them!
The album is, of course, amazing. I'm also a big fan of the addition of a spoken word prelude to each song BUT not putting it on the album and instead keeping it separate on the youtube version. i love blind guardian and twilight force but when they put the dialogue on the album it makes it hard to just jam out without curating a playlist excluding those tracks.
Genuinely the single best thing ever done by any power metal band. I wish more people told their epic like this, but this is truly what sets Lords of the Trident apart from any other band for me. Also, is there a place where the last glass mosaic in the video is available for download? I'd love it as a wallpaper :)
This album is fucking awesome guys! The vocals, the melodies, the theme, the atmosphere.... majestic and superb! I've been listening to this on repeat and I love the tracks man! Since you guys are from the US, is there a way to get a physical copy of your album somehow in Germany? I'd love to blast this in my car!

#TheGuardianDidNothingWrong A concept album of legendary proportions on the levels of Nightfall in Middle-Earth, Carolus Rex and Dawn of Victory. Truly something to witness. My only complaint is the narrator dude and some of the illustrations in this particular video seems a little amateurish to me but thats just me. The music and story itself is flawless. Seriously talented bunch, I will spread the word here in Australia!

That final stained-glass mosaic was beautiful, was it also intended to be life flashing before one's eyes? This was an awesome journey of fantastic music and storytelling. And I have to say, learning what the album's name meant only at the very end was genius. You guys deserve so so so much more attention than you get. You've also improved greatly as you've progressed! (Not to say older albums are bad, Knights Of Dragon's Deep is still my favorite song from you guys!)
