Build a few chronos, number them differently (I do 0, 9, 8) then you can get a crate with one, while the other is 'loading'. That way you never need to wait for a chrono to load to get a crate.
Anyway crates is a lucky game i play no money maps without crates and still more funny.
Nice to see more legionaires being used.
I like playing this map a lot with a friend of mine, we do FFAs and I usually go around the map killing everyone else until there's just the two of us.
We don't actually team up, we just don't attack eachother lol, Yellow does exactly the same thing as my friend too, just gets bottom right for the hospital, spies my barracks and spams rocketeers xd

Dang man, you misjudged how strong those promoted rocketeers are. When you brought back your rocketeers and not your anti-air units, you also positioned your rocketeers half on his units and half not. Spy is so good in long games.

I tried 5 BFs filled with Chrono Legionnaires against a Medium AI a day ago. Absolutely stupid and I almost lost everything when he pulled out, you got it, Tank Destroyers. Still fun though

The spy wasn't actually shown. Malaboo's rocketeers were all ranked up because he used spies to infiltrate the enemies' barracks.

Hubert Moneng the money steel won't work cuz all players will keep making tanks all the times and no one also build defenses, so also power sabotage isn't effective in multiplayer

veteran rockeeters are crazy. allies have no chance to stop them. sov aa being the best, if you had some gattling around 10 i think you would have pulled that off

Here's an idea: Standard Soviet but replace Attack Dogs with Cuban Terrorists. They cost the same, do insane damage (225! But I'm not sure about the WH damage reduction to vehicles), and are only slightly slower than Attack Dogs but can still definitely keep up with Rhino Tanks (6 speed on Rhinos and 6 speed on Terrorists)
Note: This won't work too well against Allieds as their Grizzly Tanks are faster, but in a Soviet vs Soviet or maybe Soviet vs Yuri game it'll work.

this has inspired me to re download RA2. Can you adjust the resolution to much larger now? THat was my biggest issue as a kid.

Do you play with the screen zoomed out more because it's easier for you to play that way, or easier for your viewers to watch it? I prefer my resolution being a bit closer while I play.
The higher res lets you see more of the map at once. It makes it easier to react to things you otherwise could have missed, such as a spy that would normally be just outside your screen.

I like how everyone got so damn pro well after this game's prime. I remember in the 90's, a friend of mine and I were top of the leaderboards and all we did was spam mirages and prisms most of the time. When Yuri's revenge came out, we'd spam initiates and then mutate them into brutes because who needs skill when you can exploit?

Current players are just insane. A couple random kids on dial up can't "rise to the top" anymore. If your "actions per minute" doesn't hit a certain amount, you're not getting top 100 players, let alone top 5.
Probably part of why RTSes aren't as popular anymore. A few of them tried to fix this, such as Ruse and Ultimate General Gettysburg. I think the latter succeeded. Anyway, yeah, it just got too serious and insane.

Are you running this one windows 10 and is this the origin version? Are you playing online?? How do you get this game to work.. I can't get it to work right on my computer..

Yes, maybe, and cncnet. If you want single player to work with origin, just install it, go to the main menu, type hires, then install a dll patch (don't remember which one, just look up RA2 Windows 10 dll patch). cncnet should just work by itself.

I used to do 2 GGIs, 2 SEALs (or 2 snipers), and 1 chronolegionnaire. I thought it was powerful back then, but it's not very effective. It disables one enemy unit/building but it isn't really worth the trade off of losing GGIs. Also the extra SEAL/sniper is not really needed.
I know you don't like crates but in my opinion this is way more interesting and fun than the usual tactics where you always have to be faster than the other player to win. Keep making more of these.
so you'd rather have game modes where the better player doesnt always win? adding chance in a competitive game is horrible. all it does is help scrubs and piss off good players
Jimmy Johnson if u wana play competitively then ur right (like ranked or against another good player) but if for fun crates are better.
I agree with FT. In real combat/war scenarios chance is always a factor. Zero chance can make games way to predictable and therefore boring. A good players should also be able to utilise chance and take opportunities.
Crates add a lot of situationality. A defeated player with a single chrono legionnaire could come back after getting an MCV and oodles of money. It rewards players for strong map control, too.
Too bad you didn't have flak. Dem rocketeers were asking for it real bad.

Playing with multiple tech trees is fun, but getting an MCV by chance is just unfair IMO.
One could make a mod where every player starts with all three MCVs instead.
There were different game modes in the multiplayer back then including this one.
Yeah, this already exists in the game. Unholy Alliance is where you start with all three mcvs.
