please share detail for gear oil as well...tool size required to open drain plug of gear oil and where it is located and what grade is used? @BehindTheClutter
Bro can you please tell me what is work of 2 pipe come from air filter 3:52 . 1 pipe go to engine but 2 pipe where this pipe go and what is work of this pipe ( my English is not too good )
The pipe without the yellow tape is the positive crank case ventilation (PCV). During the process of combustion inside the engine, some amount of gases leak in to the crank case through the pistons seal rings (these are known as blow by gas), if not removed it will build up a pressure inside the Crank case and oppose the piston movement. During older days it was directly vented into the atmosphere. But due to pollution norms now these gases are directed into the intake manifold and it will undergo combustion. The Second pipe with the yellow tape is coming from the exhaust manifold. If I'm not wrong, It's a type of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) used in old model cars. EGR is used for regulating pollution in a car. When the combustion temperature inside the combustion chamber rises Nitrogen and Oxygen fuses to form Nitrogen oxide (NOx) it's a harmful pollutant. This occurs only at higher temperatures, so we redirect a smaller amount exhaust gas in to the combustion chamber to reduce the combustion temperature. Now, in modern cars EGR is fully controlled electronically by the Engine control unit according to different load conditions of the car.
Behind The Clutter big big thank you sir . You are great .. want more video of describe part and how it’s work , and repairing just for knowledge ... I am new happy subscriber of your channel 😀😀😀😀 ... keep it up 👍👍👍
Yes, you should change the oil filter every time you change engine oil. I don't recommend changing oil alone, change both engine oil and oil filter together.
Br i leave in Goa heard that you got good knowledge of car i took second hand (maruti 800 2002 model) so engine oil would be (20w40 oil right?) and how many kilometres do we need to change the oil and lastly what is the MRP of oil filter(is it compulsory to change with new oil ) awaiting for ur reply thanks 👍🙏
You have to replace engine oil and oil filter every 10000km, and you have to replace coolent every 20000km. Engine oil is what protect the moving parts inside engine from wearing. Over time the engine oil losses it's lubricating property, so it's mandatory that you must replace the oil on time. Engine oil costs you around Rs1000-1100.
Yes, you can install AC in your Maruti 800. It's already having provision on the engine bank of fixing AC compressor. But make sure you are fixing genuine parts and compressor made for Maruti 800. Otherwise it will create problems rather than good for you vehicle. It will cost you around Rs 30000 for install AC from an authorized service center. And around 13-15k if you get used parts for old vehicles. Also you have to put sunfilms over the glasses to maintain the cooling inside the cabin. And keep in the mind that the power will reduce and the fuel consumption will be more while AC is turned on.
Jerks while driving are mainly caused due to miss firing. First clean the spark plugs and see whether the problem is solve If not check the if all the spark plugs are okay If not Change the spark plugs/ check the distributor. If the problem is still not solved check fuel injectors (if it's a carburettor model then tune the carburettor)
Hey bro , we have 2011 maruti 800 car. Car running is very less in this case after how many kilometers or after how many months do we need to change the engine oil ?? And coolant ?
It you are not using it regularly, ie doing only around 1000-2000km per year, then you can do the service yearly. Once every 12 months. There is no need to chage coolent on every service. You just need to top up the coolent using water. And only replace it when there is more water than coolent.
Hi my maruri 800 is of 2000 model. Can you specify exact engine oil for my car. I never bothered with correct engine oil details before. That car is very dear to me. Can I add 10W40?I do not want synthetic .Thanks in advance
As per company recommendation you can use engine oil grades from 5W30 - 20W50 depending on your climate. So if you are from an area where the temperature is below 10 degrees then you have to use 5W30 or 10W30. If you are in a region where temperature is between 5 to 50 degrees then you can use 10W40 to 20W50. As the grade increases, the oil will get more thicker and it's better to use thicker oil in old cars for smooth performance. So if you are not from a colder pleace, I recommend you to use 10W50/15W50/20W50.
@@BehindTheClutter actually Iam from kolkata. The lowest temperature is 15 degree centigrade & highest is 40 degrees. It is used sparingly. Also at what interval of km or after how many year should the gear oil be changed?I had purchased the car with my first salary & try to keep in good condition till date. The car has clocked 80000 km only. Thanks in advance.
It's better you use 10W40 for your car. Oil is having a property of changing its viscosity with temperature change. When it's colder it gets more thick means it won't flow smoothly and reach all the components fast. when it's hot it gets more thin and it won't be enough for lubrication. So vechicles need a correct viscosity range to run according to the way engines are designed. That that why they use different Engine grades. In that the 1st value indicates viscosity at winter. Lower that values gets, it takes much lower temperature to get thicker. And the 2nd value indicates viscosity at Summer. The higher this value gets it takes more temperature to get thinner.
Hello my engine in Maruti 800 decrease oil I add eash ten days one liter do you recommend I change oil use 20 w 50 ?or it will slow the engine and damage it ?
Yes Bro, 20W50 is ok for your location. Here, 20 represents the viscosity of your oil at lower temperature and 50 represents the viscosity of the oil at higher temperatures. So you have to look for lower values only in cases you are going to colder temperatures.
Sir in my car I see dipstick spills oil when it's on. Is it normal or anything wrong with the engine and also I see that the battery symbol doesn't go away even after starting the car.
Firstly, is it happening when you start the engine with dipstick or without dipstick. Anyway it's not normal, I could be due to pressure build up inside the crank case caused by clogged crank case ventilation or by worn-out piston rings. Secondly, if the battery symbol on your cluster is not turning off even after starting the engine, that means you battery is not getting sufficiently charged. And that could be a problem with your alternator (charging unit) or the belt driving the alternator or some faulty electronics in between. You can confirm that by checking the battery voltage after starting the engine. you should see a value between 13.5 - 14.7V normally for a healthy alternator.
No, it's not necessary. You can also remove it form the bottom. But as the vechicle is on the jack, I found it difficult to get my tool to the filter. That's why I removed the front bumber.
Is that necessary bro ? Spark plug cleaning ok. but I don't think removing the sump for a service is a good idea. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you for the feed back.😀
As per company recommendation you have to change the Transmission oil every 20000km or 2 years. Which ever comes first. Still an extra 5-10k km will not make much of a difference.
In the case of 4 Speed. 1st Remove the top dipstick, then lift the vechicle horizontally and remove the drain plug using Allen key. After draining clean the area. Apply sealent and screw back the drain nut. Then lower the vechicle and pour oil through dipstick hole. As per service manual it's having 2L capacity. But first'pour 1.3L then pour in steps by checking the level on dipstick. You should get a value between max and min on dipstick. In case of 5 Speed it's different. There is no dipstick in 5 Speed transmission. There will be a filler plug at the top portion of transmission. So first lift the vechicle horizontally, then open then level/filler plug. After that remove the drain nut and drain the oil. After draining apply sealent and screw it back. Then fill new transmission oil through the filler plug. Here also the capacity is 2L. You have to fill it up to the top level of the filler hole.
I tried to do that first bro, but It felt difficult for me to put my hand through that gap. So removing the bumber felt easier for me. Thank you for the feed back 😀

Yes, you should change the oil filter every time you change engine oil. I don't recommend changing oil alone, change both engine oil and oil filter together.
