You are a great man for praise of every job your lads do,great for them too reflects on their work, like any thing from sport to work brings out the best on every team, ever think of trying valtras,
Great video Michael, I think you got the possible way things will go this year a few videos ago. Your thoughts were that with the inheritance tax fiasco and the loss of some funding for farmers they might not commit to buying equipment and go for the hire option which could only be good for you. A few more trailers on fleet couldn't do any harm and you could then sell on some of the older trailers at a price that might be tempting. 🤔😉.
As a farmer I am looking to consolidate this year and keep equipment a little longer, before replacing. I would think I would be looking to hire equipment more to cover the heavy work and take the pressure off an aging fleet 🤷♂️
I think that you are broadly correct in your thoughts. There has been poor performance and financial results for many arable farmers in at least the past year and possibly even longer and livestock farmers are having a better time financially currently than has been the case for a number of years but food, bedding, vet and med, fertilizer etc costs have shot up dramatically. The other "sneaky" cost jump is for things like, power, water and insurance - hence the interest for solar / wind power and capturing rainfall. The key issue for all farmers is the increasing age of owners, reducing numbers of skilled staff coming forward and being retained in the industry. For some of these reasons there will be an increasing demand for specialist ag contractors and also farms looking to hire big(ish) equipment often for short time periods. I do think that there will be increasing opportunity for farmers and their staff to join up to tackle "team" jobs eg lime supply & spreading, muck and slurry spreading, Silage and big bale haymaking making even down to some livestock tasks such as fencing, vet tasks such as dosing, weighing and handling, mobile dipping, hair clipping. Milking relief and holiday relief, sickness relief and so on.
In tricky weather everyone going to need this hire equipment all at same time, different than plant hire being non seasonal. Nothing like being independent. @@Dan.Whiteford
Having bought my first house in the late 80’s interest went skyhigh and was high for years. Then we have had many years of very low interest rates. I could weep for the young people now, interest rates will spiral out of control, businesses will close and un-employment will rise. Not just these clowns in charge now the Sunak didn’t have much idea either. How many politicians could tell the price of any essentials to life 🤷♂️.
The way things are at the moment with agriculture, things does not seem very bright for the future for very large farms, i think very large tractors and trailers will be phased out and smaller equipment will be used instead, i think very large farms will become broken up to make small holding farms for future young farmers to be able to come through and afford, however if they are going to build houses like they want to then, larger tractor and trailers might be needed. If there is a bargain to be had then fair enough, just do not be going silly this year. I can see the farmers not purchasing / hiring very much this year until they know whats going on with the government.
I know that you all take great pride in how clean and tidy your fleet is prior to going out but should you be thinking about saving that big older John Deere tractor for "dirty" (smelly} jobs on farm especially tasks like work with slurry and manure? Could you be missing a trick not hiring / selling small tractors to Joe Public or even golf and other types of sports areas including local councils managing school sports areas and parks and large gardens?
The 1 thing that makes my life easy.....my wife, been very unwell since Friday and shes been an absolute diamond 💎
You should keep the ford 6810 do ít up and go on tractor runs it would be a good advert for your firm in what you do
Fair play to Michelle, proper grafter!! 💪🏼💪🏼

Watching in from Ireland Michael. What has had the most effect on the uk economy? Was Brexit the big mistake?
The problem was that the Government have never wanted the Change, And that is the Reason Brexit has Never Worked in the UK 😡👍
Think it depends on prices of replacement machines on sale of old.also a good dealer is key

Yes I still think that is the way. Me selling a few bits is just to replace with new
The farmer can then buy these well maintained trailers,if looked after would last years save hiring then!

Get couple of Fendt tractors and a jcb 3cx 😄
Cordless drills and impact drivers
Would u export any of ur kit to Ireland
Yes
My power chair its my life
Think the hire market will grow as farmers will be hesitant to increase the value of their holdings by investing in new kit
Do you ever import into the USA?
I would be happy to
I wouldn't sell the little ford ! Proper classic that is
And im not a blue tractor man !

Would you be selling the 135 ??
Hi Michael, On the back of your telehandler there's a white triangle 07 BG8T. It on most tractors as well, Can you tell me what this means ????
It's Datatag identification system to aid tracing lost or found vehicles and machines
I don't know about Florida but maybe someone has a caravan in Mablethorpe
Erm😂😂😂
Poor editing Michael I heard the word holiday. Had to start coughing loud enough so the wife didn’t hear that word your gona get us in trouble
Tissue toilet roll 😊
Farmers will have to start leasing machinery so it is not an asset on your books if you sell up
Possibly time to try Valtra in your hire fleet if you have decent dealers close by, John Deere are living on their past success.
Do you have any low loader traliers for sale second hand? About 30 ft long ?
Keep the 6810 she isnt eatinh anything and she will only get worth more
dont sell the ford you will never get another as good it will finish up being exported
I agree :)
👊👍
Would she holiday over here in IRELAND 🇮🇪
Definitely, it’s on the ‘to go’ list :)
if I had the money I would have it off you to get around the west Sussex ploughing match
