Nearing 8 million views! I could never have imagined so many people would be interested in my little test! Whether you love it, like it, hate or loathe it, thank you for keeping an open dialogue about a franchise I’ve cared about since I were a young child and have continued to as an adult 🖤
Wanna see if I’ve got what it takes to make a convincing Star Wars film? I’m currently working on something, and I cannot wait to share it with you all.
May the force be with you, always.

THANK YOU! I'm on the side that I'm not some kind of messiah that's here to save the star wars sequels, I just wanted to do an experiment with music and this was the scene I wanted to experiment on. The actual version hasn't been changed so those who hate this are in luck!

It really helps illustrate the moral turmoil that Kylo is going through at this point. He’s trying so hard to be a Sith but he truly doesn’t know who he is. He’s filled with so much conflict here and I feel that Adam does a phenomenal job in this scene as well as the whole trilogy. Despite not being in a very coherent story. @KarlVeiga  3 года назад +90

You're absolutely right. I've gone on record and will continue to say that this edit was meant to try and help strengthen Kylo's plight, Rian Johnson clearly saw that Luke in Kylo's eyes is a villain, I wanted to match up Kylo's feelings of hurt, pain and betrayal with this piece of music.

@@KarlVeiga Honestly I think you've done a perfect job of synchronizing the music to express the pain kylo went through because of luke, and how much he hated him because of that, but luke's monologue of how there's still hope on the galaxy and him not being the last jedi and all, that part the music doesn't fit in. And after kylo tried to strike luke down with all his force, unleashing all of his anger and hate built up towards him just to realize that that was only a projection made from the force combined with the louder music just really gave the perfect feeling.

A Force Awakens --> A New Hope but without the charm or exposition.

Rise of Skywalker --> Reylo: the Movie
I disliked the sequels as such (they're so poor story-wise in comparison to Extended Universe stuff that it's embarrassing), but honestly TLJ at least tried to do something different. It's probably going to end up a lot like The Empire Strikes Back: mixed reviews, criticized for making Han/Leia a thing, introducing Lando the charismatic chronic backstabber, isolating the protagonist from the rest of the cast because he's training or something, oh and Vader is Luke's father for some reason. People were NOT happy about TESB when it came out. A decade later and suddenly it's the high point of the franchise so far. I really wonder if the same will happen to TLJ in many years to come, you know, when Disney releases an even Star Wars trilogy xD

The music this guy added fits well with the scene but I felt the scene could've been redeemed a different way. I felt that the original track's 'angelic choir' (music that sounds like a breath of relief) that plays when Rey lifts the rocks fit that scene perfectly, though the scene itself falls flat because it doesn't feel like a payoff for anything. I think that scene alone of Rey and the levitating rocks could have been one of the most outstanding scenes in the film if it had the proper buildup (because this scene aside, TLJ had a lot of other problems...). Perhaps that's a different issue than the music specifically for Luke vs Kylo but that's my take on the thing nonetheless

I think one of the problems of the Sequels is that Directors don't permit John Williams more freedom and creative liberty with his music which is one of the reasons why both the Original and Prequel trilogy have such powerful and memorable pieces of art. Yet this is rarely the case in the sequels which I believe is in part because the Directors are to picky of what they want and how they want it and when they want it so fourth.
In conclusion the sequels had a pretty boring soundtrack.

You did a great job mate. Ik alot of Star wars these fans all over that last season of the clone wars when Rex told ahsoka to run but this is way better to me. If Disney had put this in just like this it might have even turn the whole movie around (not really but yeah 10 times better and the music hit when he mentions his father. Brilliant. Anakin's dark deeds will always be one of my favorites

It would be much better if there were no scenes entirely. Whole movie was terrible and the acting in this climactic confrontation was no different. With the original Star Wars, Ben vs Darth Vader had a gravitas to it, a meaningful and intense sacrifice. This scene looked like an immature teen Kylo Ren cussing out his unfashionable old uncle and stand-in father Luke.

They need both. A hero's journey is important, and star wars has always emphasised the fine line between good and bad. Kylo Ren is essentially just modern day Darth Vader. Very much a main character but it wouldn't be interesting enough as the sole character.
