The thumbnail attracted me to this video. I work in the yard where you spotted the two Conrail engines, but not for the railroad. We took over the maintenance building as our own equipment shop, but the Conrail sign is still there. NS still parks locos in that yard and a couple months ago they had their Reading Heritage unit parked there. We lease a train of all Conrail hoppers to haul stone from our quarry in Birdsboro to our yard in Port Richmond.
I lived in philly my whole life and even when i was little there were always conrail locomotives in tht yard...there was also a ballast or rock train tht would pick up rock or stone from the two dome type silo's behind the engine house...it was sometimes powered by a sw 1001....but mostly by a GP 38 or two....Great vid..just awsome
Awesome video! I like the idea of national train day! It really promotes the need for awareness of the of the importance of the railroads in the USA. Grate fetch on those Dash 8-40BW's as well. Grate Job Kyle!
wow what a video. i didn't relize that theyre where that many conrails left and that NS was painting them so quick! your b-day is the 18th and mine was today!
Wow! I probably saw that Amtrak 724 back when L&N/SCL owned it!!! The narration is awesome as well! Well almost pure Conrail scene, if they didn't have the black n white patches on the cabs! That CR OLS unit is a great catch!!! Totally thumbs up!
Great video! P.S. I always thought you were older. You should take that as a compliment. :) Happy birthday in advance, and you BET I will watch the video when you post it. :D
Bahhhh screw Philly, they beat my Bruins last night! Nah, this was a great video dude, you got a little bit of everything here. The pure Conrail yard was awesome, I didn't know there were only 2 OLS blues left. I gotta get my NTD footage up here.
Speaking of SEPTA Silverliner-V's, I can't wait until Metro-North puts the new M-8's into service. Once last August I saw a pair of Conrail-blue NS engines doing local switching work near where I live, the unit numbers were 3001 (had P5 horn) and 3419.
I'm really mad that missed Train Day at Union Station in DC. It happened the day I was flying back from school for the summer the day it happened. This made up for some of it though.
Great video. Were those Silverliners made in the Rotem factory in Philly? I didn't even know they finished building it yet. Once their order is done I think the MBTA should get their bilevel order started
The C759 train symbol is a CSX train, not a conrail job and the track i believe you are referring to conrail owning is the high-line which is now csx owned. Its ex conrail.
@drmayo99 alos i though the Silverliner V would be replacing the II and III but a septa rep told me they will start by phasing out the silverliners II and III first but the silverliner V will also totally replace the GE Sliverliners IVs.
@BNSF2184 Total of 154 left in blue: 96 in Conrail Quality, 48 in Conrail Can Opener, 8 in LMS, and 2 in Conrail / Operation Lifesaver. (from NSDash9.com)

Nice video! I chased 3751 for national train day. Really enjoyed the video!
PS: there are are actually more P32-BWH locos in phase 4 than in phase 5!
CoasterFan2105 omg! I love your video
Great video Kyle. So nice to have you with us, and "pun intended" lol.
Philadelphia is great city, I remember seeing Acela, CR, SEPTA and CSX trains in and around that area back in summer 2008.

In 2008 they let us go in the Acela and AEM cabs
sweet choice of music! SMASH MOUTH!!
Hi where those Conrail locomotives in the Frankford yard very nice

@GhostFearMe I didn't know they had any down there, just scrapped ones. I'll seei f I can go tomorrow.
he is saying that C759 is Conrail Shared Assests because Conrail owned it and when they split, CSX and NS run on it
@drmayo99 alos i though the Silverliner V would be replacing the II and III but a septa rep told me they will start by phasing out the silverliners II and III first but the silverliner V will also totally replace the GE Sliverliners IVs.

Go Hamlet, NC!!
@GhostFearMe Any idea where they're at? Or where the best place to find them is?
how many left on csx and ns as of 2013?
5292 is not an OLS
c759 is csx
How much do I have to pay you for that 5290?
yo man how long did it take you to drink that coke?
