One thing I really love about you and mrs Cog Hill is that you have actual conversations with MC and even ask for her advice at times. The three of you make such a great team ❤️
Jason once again you didn't give yourself enough credit. Every couple should have a Mrs Cog Hill, a real good cook, bargain finder, and a sweet personality. Love that Southern accent. What a great family.....😊🐖🐓🐐🦆
That's awesome! I'm so glad for you on the wood splitter. My husband & I used to do that & sell it. God Bless ya'll. My turkey used to stick with me all the time, even for walks. He was a royal palm named Ramsey. I would walk & Ramsey along with 5 or 6 cats would follow behind me.
I know this was a year ago, but Way To Go on getting the wood splitter going and on the second crank!!! Man, there are brand new lawn mowers that don't crank on the second crank!!! 👍👏👏👏👏👏
Man oh man! when that engine took off, I jumped up off my office chair and started dancing. My jaw dropped at the same time as Mrs Cog Hill. That is a fantastic find!
WOO HOO!!!!! Congratulations on your "new" log splitter! You'll have that large tree split in no time! I'm so happy for ya. I wonder what a totally new log splitter would cost?
I just watched your podcast for the first time. I enjoyed so much getting to know about you and your sharing experiences whether good or bad. It's a joy to hear all the laughter and see you guys interact with each other. Marycarl is a blessing the way she helps feed the animals. She is so knowledgeable about so many of them and can educate us as we watch. I could listen to Jason's laugh all day long. It's fun to see Mrs. Cog Hill jump on the tractor and tackle whatever job needs to be done. Can't get enough of you guys. Blessings.
Egg colors are my new favorite pallet I just wanna paint a whole house in egg colors! Dark brown with blue trim, or a kitchen in sage olive egger green with cream ... Could be so pretty!
I just realized I have a smile on my face when watching your videos. Y'all have a fine homestead and wonderful family. Really enjoy the videos. Thanks for sharing your life.
Amazing job on the splitter. They are indeed expensive...I just uploaded an episode about the log splitter I bought for our farm...splitters are a back saver. I split 2 trees worth in just a few hours. A bit of maintenance and they should last a lifetime especially with a Honda motor. Troy-Built generally makes good products. Nice find Mrs. Cog Hill.
We got about the same machine when the boys were little. They loved to split wood with it! They called it “the Mighty Chomper” lol! Ours has a pin you can pull and it drops down so you can use it vertically and you don’t have to pick up the logs...you can roll them up and scoot them in lol!
I was so excited when the log splitter cranked on! I love how you are never afraid to try something that may be a little out of your comfort zone. Peace and love 💘
I would bet that there are lot of people out here that gave up on a small Engine powered tool like the owner of that Log Splitter. I have a Lawn Tractor that will not start and I figure on doing what you have performed on your Log Splitter. I haven't used it in over a year, so I believe it is mostly a old gas problem. I enjoyed the "Blast from the pass" dancing. Your loyal Fan & Subscriber, Art in Calif.
Oh dang son you did it ! Yeah when I got my splitter it was so amazing to the point I was afraid taking trees down now that I can deal with all the splitting with no worries
I hope ya'll are saving the egg shells. If crushed when dried it is excellent natural fertilizer for the plants, especially the hosta & green house plants. The shells contain calcium. * Don't forget to buy the splitter another filter. Congratulations on the splitter purchase.
From carburetor to crumble...Jason, you and the Mrs. are quite a couple; everybody pitches in where'ever' and just look at the thriving family and homestead such an ethic produces! Mary Carl doesn't stand a chance of growing up unskilled or lacking confidence with Mom and Dad as examples. Blessings upon all! : )
I'm no expert, but I use and maintain/fix my small engines. Your approach was spot on. Throw your old carbie in a jar of kerosene, ready for when you have an hour to strip it down and clean it. It will be a good spare for on the shelf. If it doesn't have one or you haven't changed it yet, put a $2 inline fuel filter in, they are a very cheep time saving device. If the fuel lines are the ones that came with it they will fail on you soon. Also a good part for on the shelf. I always get twice as much as I need, so I have spares. I really like your attitude (all 3 of you), you help me out when things seem a bit much. Thank you all. 🤠🦄😃🐖🐣🌻
Troy Built is really a great brand, as you can see! 15 years!?!? Wow!! When in doubt, start with the carburetor!!! Great job, Jason! Brooke, good bargain shopping! I see how much trust and faith you have in Jason! As it should be! Cobbler looks delicious and easy to make! Glad to see your dancing came back!! Maybe you and Nugget can have a dance off!?!? He's got some pretty good moves, too!! That machine will save you so much time! Jason, one day you will come home and MC and Mom will have cut up the tree, split all the wood, and stacked it all by the house and call it a field project for MC for school!!!!!! Just wait and see! Have a blessed day!
Jason that kinda reminds me of my Dad, my Dad never met anything that he couldn't fix. Even if he had never had seen one before. A true Jack of all trades. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. May God continue to bless you and your family.
That one stands up too for bigger logs doesn't it? So much nicer rolling a big reel of wood over and not having to pick up. Good find Mrs. C! And how did you get that many persimmons away from Peaches?
My first thought when I saw that this was a little honda engine, "it's, a honda?! Oh well dang, yeah, clean it out it'll be fine". Gotta love those honda motors, all they wanna do is run
I get the feeling that when your sweet daughter comes down the hill in the morning to dearly wants to be able to feed her chickens and somebody always seems to take off with the feed pail and she just stands there helplessly not saying anything. I know that she's been in frail health, but couldn't she at least carry a smaller pail to feed her beloved chickens? I love your family, love it when you edit in to show when you and the wife throw in a dance! Love your sense of humor. Love your style. Love your positive attitudes. Love the beautiful CLEAN kitchen and dishes with beautiful food as pictures to our eyes!
Hello Cog Hill Family. I know there is one thing that my grandma taught me, was never be afraid to try. If it's currently not working, than anything you do for it can only make it better. I remember way back in the day, 36 years ago to be exact. I had always had to do laundry at the laundromat because I couldn't afford a washer and dryer. Any way, it was only used for about a month before I got it. It had been repossessed from someone and sat in his shed for a year. I remember one night, my dryer ran almost all night and was bit drying my clothing. I called the maytag dealer and told them I think my heat sensor had gone out on it. The part was $69.00 and labor was going to make it, $260.00. I was a newly divorced mom of 4 children. There was no way I could go with out my dryer. So I just ordered the part and prayed for God to help me do the work. I labeled each part and placed them in the order I took them off. I found the part that looked identical to the part which was the heat element. the store doubted my ability to do the work on my own. Boy were they wrong. And talk about getting hot, omg it had been taking a couple hours to dry a load of towels. After I replaced the heat element. It took about, 35 min. Depending on the humidity level. I finally had the ability to believe in my own capabilities and it worked. Thanks for the video . Take care. God bless, Deb
There are some videos where the wife does a recipe at some point and it makes me want to turn off but I enjoy Mrs Coghill's cooking and as I posted earlier, that cobbler looks great. I will substitute peaches as I don't know where to get persimmon 😉
I love watching every episode you put out they are so informative so much so I would love to drive my truck and camper and Park it right on your lot and help out every day i’m just saying that I wouldn’t really do it but I would love to have a small farm like you have so I will live vicariously through you in every episode thank you
That is awesome that you got the splitter running! I am sure if the folks you bought that from watched this video they are kicking themselves right now. 🤣
Great job finding and fixing the splitter. Love the happy victory dances. Another time saver to think about? I saw a homesteader who made three sided log bins on pallets. Parked the pallets right next to the splitter and loaded them up. Then moved them with his tractor right up to the house or wherever he was going to burn the wood. Saves lots of stacking and carrying time and energy.
Yum that looks delicious! One of my favorite memories of my childhood was making persimmon cookies with my Grandma! Never could find the recipe...I’ll have to try the cobbler! ❤️you guys always make my day brighter!
We talk to our animals like this ❤️ I used to help my grandmother make persimmon bread and persimmon pudding. She passed over 20 years ago and I haven't seen anyone use persimmons in all of this time until now. Thank you for sharing your day. I get to go to sleep smiling tonight. ❤️
I am So happy for you guys that you got that log splitter running! I was clapping when it started up! 😁👍. I try to do things myself as well and it’s always rewarding when your work pays off! And I love that all of you were working the splitter together. Ya’ll have such a great family. The Pie looks delicious by the way! Great episode. 😊
Ya'll did well getting a Troy Bilt with a Honda engine. I do know small engines and would never buy an implement without a Honda. As you saw, 1 pull start. If your pull cord breaks you can buy replacements with handle, or just the cord if your handle is in good shape. If you know you're going to be putting it up for a long while, drain the gas. The gas will evaporate out of the carburetor and gum up the works, which is probably what's wrong with the old carb, keep it, you can easily clean it and have a spare. The look on Mrs. CH's face was priceless. Happy Holidays to all, and ya'll be safe.
I’m not floored! Yet another project Mr Cog Hill accomplished!!! My mouth was locked open for as long as Mrs Cog Hill’s! Why were we surprised? It never fails!!!!! Well I guess I lied, I was floored!😳 Oh to have a piece of the pie!!!!! I’m so jelly!😏😕😩 what a way to end the day!! 😊
Awesome find Mrs. Coghill and great job restoring the wood splitter. Y'all saved at least 1,000 dollars. Loved the final result dance. I'd be dancing too! Stay Safe and Stay Blessed☺
Woo Hoo! Happy Dance ! When Nugget starts the day off dancing...It's all going to happen!! That cobbler looks fantastic, I have never had a persimmon in my life..I think it is time to try! What a awesome find Mrs. Cog Hill, Mr. Cog Hill IS a small engine repair man now, and Miss MC can add to her resume a hydraulic machine operator!! Y'all are GOOD!!
@larry moore....That is ALL very well said. Jason is a VERY rich man.
You guys are truly soulmates the way you bounce off each other
I love Nugget! He makes me smile every video. He has such a good personality....and some pretty impressive dance moves 😂
And y’all have some crazy dance moves too 🤣😂🤣😂
That's awesome!
The face on Brooke when her new toy worked 😍😮
I know!!!! 😁😁😁
Mr Cog Hill your dance is so adorable. Use non oxy gas so carburetor doesn’t plug up again. That has been responsible for clogging up small engines.
There is nothing more fun than bringing something back to life, especially when you had no clue what you were doing to start. Great job!!
I know this was a year ago, but Way To Go on getting the wood splitter going and on the second crank!!! Man, there are brand new lawn mowers that don't crank on the second crank!!!
👍👏👏👏👏👏
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure
So true
never ever tasted persimmons
Man oh man! when that engine took off, I jumped up off my office chair and started dancing. My jaw dropped at the same time as Mrs Cog Hill. That is a fantastic find!
Rule number 1 in small engine repairs. "Its always the carburetor"
Every single Mustie1 video
Brooke, you are the Queen of bargain hunting!💞😊😎
WOO HOO!!!!! Congratulations on your "new" log splitter! You'll have that large tree split in no time! I'm so happy for ya. I wonder what a totally new log splitter would cost?
Please let Mary Carl use this, it m.j is so fun!!!
Mine was $1200 on sale a couple months ago...the next size up was $1650.
It is fun looking at some of your older videos and seeing Nugget little!
God is looking out for you!!!!!! Amazing
You need to do "The Nugget Shuffle". It can be your new dance move.😆
I love watching your family.
I love seeing all your animals. Nugget is adorable!! Your daughter is so smart. Love watching your family. Have a great weekend 👍 😀

Thank you! 😊
I could not help but smile when Mrs. Coghill high-fived to you as the engine started. It was so genuine and sweet. You make a great team.
Wow, Jason. I am so impressed with the massive knowledge you have to build and fix. Love it, love it, love it ❤️
Awesome find Mrs Cog Hill (Brooke) and great job getting it running Jason. Now bring on the fallen trees.
Omg how wonderful it runs yahoo the way things are now a days you don’t want to be depending on others for wood I’m so happy for y’all
Happy dance time indeed! Well done!
I’m so excited for y’all! I was just as surprised and was almost dancing with you when you got that log splitter working! 🙌🏻

One man's junk, is another person's gold.
I would say you had a big blessing from God when that engine started!

That is awesome that you got the splitter running! I am sure if the folks you bought that from watched this video they are kicking themselves right now. 🤣

Ohh my day is complete because of this family and the Cog Hill dance!! :)
We talk to our animals like this ❤️
I used to help my grandmother make persimmon bread and persimmon pudding.
Great job in the log splitter! Got me smiling ear to ear! Cool Beans!
I am soooo happy for you guys!!! It's almost like finding gold along side the road - WHAT A FIND!!
It was wonderful how your critters just wanted to be right where you were. To me, that says a lot of how much they love your lovin'.
Loved this video. If you have persimmon cookies with walnuts, you will never lack friends. They are just so good.
Nothing like basic maintenance to help a machine run..congrats on that find.
What a team! You now have a great addition to your farm.
Great job on the log splitter! It will save you a lot of work and time. I just love those little red turkey hens.
Love it !!! - Peaches at the old Persimmon buffet 🐷 😂🤣😂🤣
I’m not floored! Yet another project Mr Cog Hill accomplished!!! My mouth was locked open for as long as Mrs Cog Hill’s! Why were we surprised? It never fails!!!!! Well I guess I lied, I was floored!😳
Oh to have a piece of the pie!!!!!
That dance was the best thing I’ve seen all week. Yes! Haha. Love y’all
I appreciate Mrs. Cogs recipes
Wow! You all are amazing! So glad you got the splitter working, and that dessert looked amazing!
I'm so excited that you got it working!!!🤗
