That was superb and to give commentary whilst making the maximum is next level. Holt is clearly still a top player, with his talent he should be mixing it up with the top 16.

It’s ok doing it on his own table but it’s playing under pressure that becomes the test

Obviously not a pressure player. In other words he bottles it. Not knocking his talent as that is very apparent but to be a top flight tele player you need bottle!?

@@jama211 this guy does 147's for fun on a practice table. The reason he can't beat the elite is because he can't take his practice game to the tele games....because he doesn't have the bottle. That's what makes the great players GREAT!
They can do it under pressure. I have a very deep understanding of the game.

I just wondered a couple of details about the gold ball rules. What happens if the gold ball is hit - 'in game'. Say for example if the cue ball hits it by mistake after successfully pot a colour. Is it put back to baulk or is it just left in the position? As I understand, it is a foul 4 if potted by mistake. Another scenario, If you have successfully potted a black and made a 147 can the cue ball cannon on to the gold ball, hence making it easier to pot? Or are you only allowed to pot it from the baulk? I haven't seen enough games with the ball in play.

    • @russelldawson9560

The gold ball needs to be on the table from the very start. It is possible for it to be dislodged during safety play for instance without incurring a penalty.

The odds offered for a 167 in the Saudi tournament were only about 5-1 against. Not too surprising when you think that nowadays there is a 147 just about every other tournament and the 167 is just one more ball! And the Saudi was quite a small event starting with only 12 players - 11matches, I think starting with 128 or so players the odds would probably be about 2-1

WOW fantastic stuff. Really incredible. However I'm glad that the 167 wasn't scored in the recent championship. It's just some rich guys idea who obviously don't know what to do with their money. A 167 would just take away from the beauty of making a genuine 147 under the snooker rules. Having the World Snooker body agree to this nonsense, is beyond me. Im happy that it can be part of an exhibition but not in a professional match. What's next , a star studded ball worth 500 points or a diamond ball worth 1000 points. Just childish dreams thought out by silly men with heaps of cash.
Btw I'm certain you the only one who's done it ( 167 ) .....and hopefully the last as well. Once again a fantastic exhibited achievement 👏👏👏
