What a great humble Guy .Lucky I don't live close otherwise id be at your place all the time. Thanks for doing the build series on this saw much appreciated. And other videos also.
Nice journey, from scrap to finish product! Thanks a lot from a newbie in porting stuff, though I passed my fiftyes. 😁 Everything you present is very usefull. Who says you can't learn from a youngster? Or who says you can ever stop learning? 😂 Thanks for your time and knowledge! 👍
This has been an awesome journey. Tinman thank you for taking us on this ride. The turd saw is reborn as a wood killer. Much appreciation of your talent and time. Keep em coming.
I found your channel today. Draw my attention for 4 hours straight. Sat down through the whole series and I'm happy that i did. Thanks for your videos and for sharing your knowledge. You totally deserved my subscription. Cheers
Man that things absolutely beautiful!!! I freakin love Echo’s!!! That’s just like a little 8000... I freakin love that design!!! David... heal up great!!! Work yourself back... I’ve been down that road and it’s really about digging deep!!! Stay strong!!! Getting crushed by the widowmaker actually saved my life!!! 👍😁
Thank you so much!!!! Great clear videos, and camera work. I know it takes time. Just know it is really appreciated!! Can't wait to see it eating some wood. Getting ready to do mine. My carb needs a kit, as this saw never gets run. Kit comes tomorrow, so maybe a little porting this weekend!!! Thanks!
Tinman you are a legend, In a single day I watched all the videos and ported my ms360 clone I built from farmertec. With a nice muffler mod as well it out cuts my buddys stock 440! Thanks for putting in the time, I genuinely appreciate it!
It was nice to hear it run this series was very educational Tinman you spoke in layman’s language and your camera angles were great thanks again. Cheers
It looks good and runs even better someone is going to have a big smile on their face that won't come off. There is a reason the channel is growing so fast it is you Tinman!! There is so much kindness and positivity here people just cant walk away. Keep it up!!!
What a great series this has been. Thank you for all the knowledge you have shared with the community. You’re a good guy Tinman! Saw looks and sounds great.
Man that thing is freakin mint! Can't wait to see it in the wood, it's gonna be a ripper! Wish I could be there to see the look on someone's face when they receive it, it's gonna make somebody's day for sure!! Also thanks for bringin us along on that build Tinman, and thanks for sharing that very valuable knowledge. Hope yer havin a great day bud!! Be safe! Be kind! Give love!
This has been a really good series tinman. Very well done. If possible it would be nice to do a similar build on a strato saw like a 562 or something. Keep up the good work
Nice seeing you and a few other saw guys take the time to do a step by step. A little knowledge can be dangerous, getting to know the why behind why things are done is just as important as the what. Shout out to Smitty who had to put his SXL series on hold because of the loss of his dad. Well, I'm off to watch some Ironhorse magic.
I couldn't take it...any one else have to go to the end first n hear it run..lol..well done on the turd..looks good n sounds good tinman!! The peeps that donated parts rule..community build is killer!!outfuckinstanding!!
I'm the same way about screws an stuff buddy an looks not that important either long as it runs good and strong. Love this build buddy hope everything is going good.
Hey Tinman, you did a very good job on this powersaw. Thanks for the whole series! I think I´ll try to port a chainsaw on my own 🙈 Take care 😉 Greetings from germany, Stefan
Ive got to stop watching... the addiction is real. hahaha. After watching your saw compilation that 394 sounded sooooo good. Just like that a minty 394 pops up near me for 500$. Going to get it Friday. That will be my fourth 90-100cc saw and all I do is cut firewood and clear farm lands.
Is there a sweeter sound on earth than the giddy child-like giggling of a man who's rebuilt a machine & is just realizing how well it's come-together? :D Bravo on the AV's on that thing (lol @ 'wet noodle'!!), am sure it's especially 'noodly' to you being you're unfamiliar w/ Echo's....echo created AV on chainsaws (in the mid 60's IIRC), I'd call my 590's AV the best that I've ever held in my life....but they don't 'move' the same way a Husq's AV moves, and they do move quite a bit (my 355t is firmer at 1.5yrs than my 590 was outta the box, I actually thought the 590's av was broken/improper til I realized it's just how Echo runs it :P ) Thanks as always for the great vids, am realizing how late into the day it is and I haven't even gloved-up to begin reassembly of "conservatively ported build #1" here lol, gotta turn off the Y.Tube your vids are hard to turn-off once begun ;D
Oh and kudos Re idling it so long, and not going into wood hard at first.... I actually had a Stihl rep (via phone..) tell me it was wrong because the flywheel fin cooling isn't being properly utilized :P I do only idle for tank 1, then (in wood) about 1/4th to 1/3rd throttle cuts for lil bursts but mostly idling, then into 1/2 and 3/4th on tanks 2&3 and by end of 3 I'm doing some full throttle cuts (short ones) It doesn't "go into service" then, it goes into 'light service' in fact my finished (kit)660 rebuilt top-end just saw 1st on-job use on Fri, to fell a big Pine, but I only bucked like 3 or 4 cuts with it (using my 590 for the rest) because after having a kit-saw shred for nearly 1hr into use I'm now OCD as possible on assembly & break-in!!!
There aren't a lot of any echo builds on the internet! Other than the new 2511T because its so light and you can get enough power out of it to run a full 3/8 chain 16" bar so most likely run a 20" panther kit.
If you skim the barrel to get squish , say 40 thou. Is it logical to raise ports on inlet and exhaust 40 thou ? Just to keep timing the same, so you don't lower the power band rpm ? What about transfer ports, them too ? Thanks for all your time making these explanations available, you explain things well.
On stihl saws they did away with the old cylinder head gasket and use a new thin steel gasket. Wat would u recommend for all gasket surfaces..factory gasket or that paste type sealant u used on the Echo pot and pan install
Do you ever machine skirts on pistons to change timing , or sculpt either inlet or exhaust side ? It seems to me a shorter piston would do the job of porting, but affect the timing of open and closed port.
If you only raised the transfers , would it free up rpm similar to raising exhaust port? It seems it weould bleed crank pressure faster and allow the piston to finish it descent quicker?
Hey tinman! Is it normal for this saw to do the ring ding on the way off high rpm? Mine does it and I thought it was an air leak but it’s not that I can tell.
can you show us how to put in a decomp with a chainsaw that doesn't have onebut it has a spot ?where you could put one there are no videos of this that I can find
HEY TINMAN, A QUESTION ABOUT DE-BURRING WITH BALL HONES. IT OCCURRED TO ME THAT THERE IS A CASE TO BE MADE FOR AN EXACT FIT, AN UNDER-SIZED HONE, AND EVEN SHOVING A 2 1/4" HONE INTO A 52MM BORE. SO MY QUESTION: "WHICH SIZED HONE (RELATIVE TO CYLINDER DIAMETER HAS GIVEN YOU BEST RESULTS?"
@@tinmanssaws THANKS MUCH, TINMAN. I DID MY FIRST CHINESE CYLINDER AND CAME-UP WITH THE FOLLOWING: INTAKE DURATION 160 DEGREES, EX., 155, SO I MISSED, AS EXPECTED ON MY FIRST TRY WITH CRAPPY SINGLE-CUT BITS. (TUNGSTEN/CARBIDE DOUBLE-CUT BITS ON THE WAY) BUCKIN'S BUDDY WHO HAS BEEN PORTING LONGER THAN ALL OF US SAYS "155 DEGREES DURATION, BOTH INTAKE AND EXHAUST, WORKS WELL ON ALL SAWS." DO YOU AGREE? Great work Tinman. She starts, runs & is looking good. Top job breaking her in gently too. 👍
This has been a really good series tinman. Very well done. If possible it would be nice to do a similar build on a strato saw like a 562 or something. Keep up the good work
Yet another great video from the tinman, great information always, really learned some good tips on this one, thanks buddy

when the haters start coming, you know you're doing a great job 😂 keep doing it 💪
I’ve watched you before, with the pro Mac 55. Buckin said to come check you out, enjoying your vids Tinman. 👍🏻
Better than new. 👍
I'd send that thing to the guy that gave you the parts for saw. He earned a nice gesture so did the T handle guy.
Nice job, sounds really good
Looks and sounds great!
Hey tinman soapy steelwool cleans them up nice and doesn't scratch
. That saws a ripper!... maybe 🤷 LOL don’t blow it up !!!! Love the CAT scale hat man.
That is so much better than the piece of junk craftsman saw i have but i have made it work for me
On stihl saws they did away with the old cylinder head gasket and use a new thin steel gasket.
Sounds purdy good.
The "tird" saw is looking almost as good as it runs! i am very curious to see it in the wood. But first break it in easily, the way i learned it.
Sounds healthy
If you only raised the transfers , would it free up rpm similar to raising exhaust port? It seems it weould bleed crank pressure faster and allow the piston to finish it descent quicker?
Saw sounds good
Sounds great!
Where did you get your t handle Allen wrenches, I like the extra long reach.
Hey tinman! Is it normal for this saw to do the ring ding on the way off high rpm? Mine does it and I thought it was an air leak but it’s not that I can tell.
Hey tinman I’ve got a question. Are the grey echos a popular. I cant find any here in Australia
It didn’t go into fast idle when you started it or you have already warmed it up a little .
It’s going to be a nice saw
Thank you!!!
Nice.very responsive 👊
😅did you find out what clutch drum that came from i have never seen an echo with anything other than a star 6 point
That big washer is to stop the clutch binding too much in to the inner clutch cading surface..
I see a 805 sitting up on that shelf is it for sale?
Do you keep rev limiter or change it out ?
amazing!
Let’s finally hear that baby roar!! ❤️
easy off good parts clean shower clean is good
can you show us how to put in a decomp with a chainsaw that doesn't have onebut it has a spot ?where you could put one there are no videos of this that I can find
Can some one explain why they pull the pull cord out when shuting of the saw
HEY TINMAN, A QUESTION ABOUT DE-BURRING WITH BALL HONES. IT OCCURRED TO ME THAT THERE IS A CASE TO BE MADE FOR AN EXACT FIT, AN UNDER-SIZED HONE, AND EVEN SHOVING A 2 1/4" HONE INTO A 52MM BORE. SO MY QUESTION: "WHICH SIZED HONE (RELATIVE TO CYLINDER DIAMETER HAS GIVEN YOU BEST RESULTS?"
Exact size is preferred but sometimes slightly bigger is how you have to go. Either way I find as long as you work quick the results are the same.
@@tinmanssaws THANKS MUCH, TINMAN.
