Hi Eli & Kate👋 I’m delighted to have come across your channel! 😅 I could never keep anything alive before now(😂I used to blame the Irish weather). I was given a Basil and mint plant last month and now I’m even growing scallions instead of throwing away the roots from store bought ones. Looking forward to learning loads and being inspired. I can’t believe im even thinking of getting a little green house. Loving your videos I’ve binged so far ❤
This has been a difficult day as it was the service for my cousin who recently died of pancreatic cancer. At the end, she repeated often that all that matters is love. The love you have for each other and how you pour it into everything you do makes me think that Yael had it exactly right.
I’m new to gardening ,just got my first greenhouse ,Iv been watching you two for 3 days solid …I hope I’m successful like you two are at this gardening lark ..
Note to self: Don't watch your video's in earshot of my hunk. He now wants a pop up gazebo for when he works on his Harley lol Fantastic job on the new planter! I'm still wiping up my drool from your garlic harvest. I'm planning on giving garlic a go this fall.
OOOh I love it! The whole time you were building it I was saying "that's a **** load of compost you're going to need." 😂 Sooo lovely. I need a load more planters, but we built two long ones this year, for all my tomatoes/veg and the cost (including compost) was not funny. So I'll wait for next year. There's nothing quite like planting in a new raised bed with fresh compost. It's a dream! Hope you found space for a few hellebores for winter interest...
Add a 3rd tier square planter with bottom, and get a citrus that is cold-hardy (if you like the smell of citrus flowers). Unless you get a freak polar vortex sitting over you for weeks, it should not need to be moved into the greenhouse. You two are so fun to watch when you do a big project together.
I really like the planter design with the two levels and offset end boxes. I just might borrow that idea! It is time to harvest my garlic, too. Tomorrow it all comes out and I get to see how this season did.
What an absolutely fantastic video. I'm seriously considering building one of these planters, I shall check out the other video's later. Plus it will give me an opportunity to justify buying a circular saw which is also a good thing 😁 I lifted my garlic this week and was extremely pleased with it as well, grown from cloves from last years crop.
Looks like you had a great week and wow wow wow love the planter…. Kate really is a dab hand at building stuff. Well done gues I enjoyed it one more then others….. but yes you have lots of plants and need lots of plants.
You’ve inspired me to give growing garlic in pots a go next year. I’m currently dealing with a pest problem in one of my veg beds. I have a mole! Small mounds of earth have appeared beside my beans and courgettes. So far I’ve not lost any plants and hopefully it will move on soon. 🙈
That's one gracious garden box setup. I would put tall grasses along the top to hide behind (kidding). Nasturtiums on either side flowing over would almost make it disappear. Handy to pick the flowers for salads too.
Fantastic. What a great team you two are. I would imagine the huge planter is better than lots of pots regarding snails & slugs, my pots do seem to be the hang out (on's 😅) for many slug gatherings. As a renter I do tend to plant a lot more in pots, & like you say, it can look a bit messy.
Good harvest nice planter! My harvest was great also and drying in shade covered GH. It’s warm, but airy. It hit 100*F today in Wisconsin, US. At 9am it was 94. Heading for a cool down next few days. It’s a hot one and shade fabric is my friend, but the drought has made the hose an enemy😂. I have 2 large gardens🙄. I need to get a cable system in place that I can pull shade fabric easily to cover when needed. That and drip irrigation are on wish list.😁 Holy moly we better get rain tonight and tomorrow as trees are dying. We may get half to 1 inch, big whoop But we’ll take it. We are 8” down on precip. I got those Frost petunia seeds when I seen yours and grew them- They are fantastic! I like the double pink cascades and Wave petunias also. Doubles look like carnations. If I could only beat the wildlife at their games. The deer ate all the Lilly flowers with such a delicate touch and left a sedum on the bird bath as calling card. I didn’t notice right away till I looked closer. It’s a bit difficult to cover things in bird netting where the bird baths are. It’s been a struggle and I think I can still hold out to get some crops. Not too pretty to look at all the plants through barricades-it’s really a site.🙄
