Riot finally did it. They answered every Valorant player's prayers.
In one of the biggest updates the game has ever seen, Riot finally addressed the Chamber problem.
We’re talking about some serious, potentially meta-altering, nerfs here.
Players at basically every level of the game have felt pain and suffering at the hands of Chamber and some would even tell you that he ruined the game.
So is it finally over? Is Chamber dead?

Before this patch I was a chamber main. I played 1 game with him on the new patch and I can confidently say that I am now a smokes main 😁
I was a omen and kj main before chamber got released but chamber was so obviously overpowered how can u not main, him.

I am a Omen main before Chamber arrived adn he helped me go from being hard stuck Gold1 to Plat 1 and now I am back to good old Omen. LOL.

They nerfed him hard and didnt revert his old nerf is just unfair -_-
Oh well, still didn't stop me from fragging people. As a former CS player, now just playing casually, any agent that's not too dependent to his ability is good enough. Chamber's abilities made me sloppy with rotations since you can teleport... I played Sova, Sage and Brim most of the time. But when I finally gave in to my curiousity and unlocked Chamber, damn... I'm like an addict hahaha... That sniper ult definitely the awp I was very familiar with... Played chamber yesterday and yep, for those who want to stick with chamber, definitely a lot of adjustments to strats. The Ult is okay. So Chamber is now gonna be a proper sentinel and lurker... Hmmm... I'm a lurker so nothing changed on my strat.

I played csgo for almost 2.2k hours and mained Reyna like crazy before Chamber was released. I think every csgo player will be good with Reyna

Pros = more variety in my games
Cons = Former Chamber one-tricks are absolutely LOST in my games
They were no real mains, cause real chamber mains always find a way to abuse him
Smoking that chamber pack, how that character went essentially unchecked for nearly 13 months is insane.
70% pickrate at tourneys, and sometimes 90% and they did nothing all this time
Watching chamber one tricks try and play another sentinel is hilarious cause they don't know how 💀
Most Chamber one tricks aren't even Sentinel players. I bet to God most of those players are mostly duelist players before he got released 🤣

I thing he should have cooldown on tp after being destroyed but asides from that I thing is a great nerf. It's understandable that people are upset about it cause chamber was always played differently than a regular sentinel, but guys, this is actually how you're supposed to play him
Having it unavailable after an enemy destroys it punishes not thinking when placing his TP. Riot is pushing more of a Sentinel role onto him because now you have to think about his setup.
@@amivlr But his tp is everything, he's useless without it, even if he has it hidden in site of you manage to break it with util what's the point? Anyways, we'll se how he works out in the next weeks
@@funnylesgo You are correct, he is pretty much just an agent with a Killjoy Alarmbot at that point. That IS the punishment for bad TP placement.

His TP and his guns are his identity that is why many people cried about him being a duelist because the TP itself was a tool that Chambers use to make braindead peeks that you would normally see duelists do. This is also why his TP right now is in a good place because it still let's you bunker down and anchor areas like a sentinel w/o actually nerfing the cast time of the tp.

Swift play is probably the best thing Riot did, next to the chamber nerf. Especially playing with friends who can’t take how long a comp/unrated game takes, it’s perfect
also a great ranked warmup if you want something quicker than queueing a full unrated
agreed 100% i had to take multiple weeks off at a time because my average game that wasn't spike rush or DM took 40 minutes.

You gotta hand it to Riot on this one. Though it took time for these nerfs to come (assuming because pro play was still active) they really thought things through. Most "solutions" pros and the community came up with never really solves the issue of how can Chamber be a sentinel with his unique kit. Imo these changes make it so that his initial power is still there but not as imposing and global that most agents don't even have as well make him play into a sentinel type role despite having probably the most unique kits of any agent on their role.
Yeah, sometimes it's better to let the owner decide what to do with his property.

People don't want balance. They are emotionally destroyed for a long period of time by a thing in a game and then they want revenge, not balance. Chamber is dead, he's useless and no longer impactful in any meaningful way. They nerfed him into the ground, this is not balance. I argue that even if they gave him 2 trademarks back he wouldn't be good enough.
@@R1s3n Good enough at what? He's no longer the duelist machine he used to be which he never should have been. He's a sentinel and he should have been that way. They didn't even nerf how strong he is in the right hands, just made it more punishing to actually whiff shots, no more body shot spam, no more easy re-peeks, some actual skill expression that people need to learn and master.

His nerf shouldve happened a long time ago, and they changed what people were saying since it became a problem.
This is what Chamber had to be from the first time
Chamber ruined the game in a way, it lowered the skill ceiling since it was so easy to use, get free kills. It encouraged to make risky plays but there was almost no actual risk involved and the kit gave you free info almost every round and a free overpowered op
Easy to use? Chamber needs you to be able to aim. And from ALL OTHER AGENTS hes the most bland one. Rendesvouz? Aim. Ult? Aim.
Ppl only use him bcs his TP are goddamn broken bcs other agent movement ability sucks

A lot of people think Harbor is kind of useless but he's actually a really great agent for teams with faster, bursty play styles and execs. So the likes of SR and PRX favoring Harbor isn't surprising in the least and I expect to see a lot of Harbor picks from aggressive teams in the VCT.
As for Chamber, his nerf was much-needed and a very healthy step in the right direction. Maybe eventually, as power creep inches further, they may give him his two TP anchors back/unlimit the range restriction on his Trademark - but for now, these are really great changes. Can't wait to see the meta shake up.
Also I completely agree with wishing Swiftplay was first to 7 instead of first to 5. I think they probably limited it to first to 5 because they want the matches to be more or less around the 15-min mark, but I think first to 7 makes a lot more sense for a "halved" version of Unrated. First to 4 with Spike Rush always seemed arbitrary to me, and Replication can be a nightmare to play when the enemy team's running all Jetts/Chambers/Razes.
I dont even see most sentinels except on breeze and ascent but every other map has no sentinels in Plat I don't know why because kj is really good on most maps now
Now that they have nerfed The Tour De Force Speed, They must bring back the one shot one kill thing back.
So when you hit the leg of a player, they die.
I think the rendezvous nerf is fine, you can still be creative with it. We will be forced to be more creative with it, which makes the game more fun.
I don't play valorant that often tbh, but the thing I like the most about his kit is the ads on his ult, to me it's really broken being able to snap so quickly without having to wait for the ads.

Common mistake, that is all over reddit, but calling Chamber in any way shape or form a duelist (even before patch) is a huge misunderstanding of what a duelist is, or of what Chamber is.
a duelist is an entry, here to create space and chaos for the team to execute. none of chambers habilites have ever done anything of the sort.
you're probably just confusing what a first contact and an entry are. Chamber is a great first contact (and he still is, even after patch), but he's never ever been even remotely close to a duelist.

People who are freaking out just aren’t creative enough, I’ve gotten loads of value from chamber still, but I will say the trip nerf is horrible, that is the only thing that is really holding him back. his tp, op, and deagle are still great, the op needed that nerf drastically and even I can admit that as a past chamber main. But I can still take crazy aggressive defense side pushes and still get back safely, and it’s actually made for so many attacking side peaks on multiple maps much quicker and safer. He’s definitely hurting from this, but people are over reacting to how bad it actually is
Chamber nerfs were really deserved. No more rank inflated Chambers. Being able to repeek with an OP was utterly disgusting.
I quit playing Valorant second act after beta and after coming back to the game last summer I had literally only queued Chamber. Like completely instalock, I don’t know how to play any other agent with the same level of confidence. Every single change feels terrible except for the pistol.
Man, I wish they make swiftplay permanent and increase the win rounds to 6
this is actually good news for multimains who play more than one agent such as myself cause you no longer have to fight for your agent as much as you used to and compensate playing a side main

Swiftplay is just useless. Valorant is already so short and trollers just ruin the game. Now with a shorter mode, it seems like you can't box your anger in anymore. More comms ban incoming.

I do think that the Chamber nerfs are obviously needed, but they have pushed nerfs too far. The tp feels so horrible. And I still think his trademark should have infinite range. Make it fair like a cypher camera where he can still gather intel on one site while hes at the other one. Camera A and hes at B. Help Vincent out abit. I know he terrorized the meta, but now he has fallen to YORU levels of unplayable.
I mean, if the rendezvous has a wide enough radius, it shouldn't change much. From day 1, it was always about being able to play aggressive off angles without getting punished. Not a fan of the trademark radius but I guess the ability to pick it up helps. The ult changes though is really good, makes it so that missing the first shot actually matters now.
as someone who used to play kj quite a bit before chamber and then being a chamber player, i like this update. i actually need to hold site now especially on fracture. 😂
all of the skill expression that was possible through playing Chamber is still available but now with the added benefit of bad players being less able to just abuse how easy the headhunter and tour de force were as much. good nerf.
The dual rendezvous anchor gave a lot of nuance to Chamber so I'm a little upset about that change but the ult and q nerfs were 1000000000% necessary. There's no way a 6 point ult should give you a free OP with a slow field that has Marshall movement and precision. Thats genuinely just so absurd to me.
Don't sleep on the Cypher changes, there's so many more setups now
I hated how he was so easy for anyone to pick up and play. Like if u chamber isn't top fragging in the game hes doing something wrong. they dont have to entry as a duelist but still get those get outta jail free cards. Chamber was literally a character every baiter with zero skill would play. Thank god for the nerfs. There is one issue tho. Why do sentinels have ange restrictions on their trips? Its like their main ability yet rotating around the map makes em useless.

Well it is a nerf but I don't think he is dead. He is only dead to people who played him as a duelist but now you have to play him more how he was supposed to be played - a sentinel who locks down flanks and 1 site.
Im surprised it took them this long to balance him. He was a freaking dualist everybody knew.
If they want to buff cypher again, they should make it where fades prowlers/skyes dog dont break his wire because its so annoying when fade just uses her 2 prolwers and just break all of cyphers kit.

Before he came out I was a devout Killjoy main
now I've gone back to my old ways, and thrown Kay/O in the mix as well.

It made him more in line with other Sentinel. He still got that instant TP to safety, just now you actually got to learn where to place it.

Since the update my ranked games felt so much enjoyable to play. Also, the few Chambers I played against were so lost that they were teleporting in the middle of the fight😅 (Asc-Imo mmr)

The problem was not with chambers awp it was his tp. The tp nerf is good the awp nerf is not

Neon’s ult kinda blows ngl. At long range she gets destroyed by rifles and snipers and at close range its kind of easy to kill her.

Thankfully before chamber I was a viper main with two other side agents (sova and sage). Now I learned pretty much every non-duelist characters cause fuck double duelists. Now tho it’s fun cause all the chamber one tricks gotta learn fast or get left behind
why the tp? just reduce The range between the tp so its still useable and nerf the ult thats it , and maybe nerf the traps like Killjoy so u cant just put where ever u want . who actually want to chamber nerfed this badly?
