Getting older sucks, tendons don't recover as quickly due the regenerative aspect of stem cells declining. I suspect Chris can't train as intense as he used to due to overuse injuries. Chris, hannibal and other atheles have paved the way for the new generation to push the sport to new limits. This type of training should of been the mainstream type of fitness except bodybuilding dominated much of the 1950's till recently. Gymnastics took a back seat and didn't come back until now.

Gymnastics don't have 1 arm holds. The risks some take are insane.
Calisthenics Is gymnastics with less rules and more just do whatever tf you want if it looks cool
