Schmeichel was a goalkeeper but he can easily be beaten just like any goalkeepers out there. That Nigerian team was full of quality coupled with individual brilliance. You can't really compared them with that average but disciplined Danish side!

So although it’s true that Michael in particular was no longer in his prime, his performances clearly showed that he was in fact STILL world class. The truth is, Denmark were indeed an average side, but the Laudrup brothers alone always made them a team that could beat anybody on their day.

The goalkeeping & defending were so poor that it seemed deliberate because of the infighting in the team & with NFA
