Ha!Ha! I see you made it to Dalehead, Sue! What atrocious weather, unlike on my trip, but I was delighted to see you got a stunner of a sunrise as reward!! Brought back memories for me.
Thank you Roger! Yes, I can’t complain about it’s bombproofness! I think the old Vango 200 has spoilt us for size & porch but they don’t last forever sadly.
Baptism of fire, for the new tent, but my Terra Nova Voyager is still going strong. Great video Sue, good to see Denis back. And well done to Dave getting in that water 🥶
Blimey Sue you guys are brave. Especially Dave swimming in that 🥶 you really put that tent through its paces. I went for a winter hike and camp the other day (never usually bother in winter, too much of a wimp) but it's nothing near as extreme as you guys did. Great views in the morning 🤠
Hey, thanks for watching 😊 ha, wimp is definitely not how I would describe your travels! I’ll tune in if you’ve filmed your camp.. guess it was a bit colder than your usual sleeping arrangements
Oh boi Sue pitching in wind and rain (always good start 😱⛺️) 🤭 3:17 RAB don’t seem to answer me neither 🥹 5:30 🤣 Excellent that tent is holding up so well 🙌 Epic 🤩 7:48 Lovely sequence this hiking down to Buttermere That dip looked cold Dave 🥶 🙌🙌 A fabulous film Sue 👍a really fun adventure from start to finish 🤠👍 Very best wishes Simon 🤠🙏🏼🏔️
Thanks Simon! Yes, I think my love for both Rab and Paramo is unrequited 😂 Oh, well. Very pleased not to have been blown back down to Honister inside the tent - it really lives up to it’s reputation thankfully 👍 All the best
Great video Sue 👍, your new quasar definitely got put up to the test alright, looked like it handled that bad weather like a champ 👌, you captured some great footage with the drone, views round there are fantastic, spot on Sue, atb Mick 👍
Hey, Mick! I guess it’s not surprising we were on the same summits, guessing not the same day though. But quite a coincidence we were both testing new tents. One day our drones may meet 😉
nothing better than them sunrises, especially after a night in the storm. Great video 👏 Id be reluctant to share my caramel wafer to be honest, they are way to good for sharing 🤭
A lovely wee circular route that Sue and nicely filmed and edited ☺You'll never go wrong with the Quasar, it's virtually bomb-proof when pitched correctly ⛺ but all that storage space has clearly confounded Dave 🤣 Buona notte 🙋♂
Haha! I’m sure most will think that the missing stuff is acting, but it honestly isn’t 😂 Yep, I was really impressed with how sturdy it is, especially since it’s reasonably high 👍 New snowshoes too, thanks to your snowshoeing video.. just need some snow now so I can get out & trip up over my too close together feet 😂
This was a great film , especially your relay back to the car . What a great pair you are . Brilliantly edited and fair play carrying all the gear . I'm heading up to a high camp tomorrow . Cannot wait ..
Hey, thanks for the comments, great to chat again. It occurs to me that I don't know your name? The tent was superb, built for winter and really bombproof. I noticed you've uploaded recently so will be checking in to watch later 😃Like the new profile photo! Happy wild-camping, have a great weekend - Sue

The morning after the night before was a bit different. Nice trip out for you. Best wishes to you and your channel. First time watching. New subscriber.
Really enjoyed watching as we are currently considering buying one. How are you finding it for ease of pitching, quality of materials and comfort for two people? Your thoughts and comments would be much appreciated. Kind regards, Trudy & Pete
Hi Trudy. Thanks for the question, it’s a pleasure to have the chance to give an opinion. The Terra Nova is excellent in terms of sturdiness, it seems to stand up easily no matter what the weather throws at it. The quality is excellent, and it is easy to pitch. Enough space for 2 to sleep comfortably as long as you don’t have loads of stuff crammed in with you, and Dave is 6ft tall. It is surprisingly tall so plenty of headspace. The only thing we would wish for is more space in each porch. We could cook but had to be aware of the available space. For backpacking it’s significantly heavier than a summer tent, which is to be expected and we only use it in winter. Had quite a few comments about it from other owners, all favourable 👍 I’ll put dimensions in the description for you ASAP. All the best, and enjoy the camping. Sue
Hi Sue, any chance you could comment on ventilation in the Quasar please. I’ve watched many videos and some show vents which can be closed internally, they are velcro fastenings which people have said are difficult to close. Not sure if this applies to the latest Quasar 2023 model?
@@trudytalbot Hi Trudy! I’m a little puzzled by that to be honest. We didn’t have a problem with that, and Dave is very particular about tent ventilation ( there’s a sentence I probably won’t ever repeat 😂). Despite the conditions we didn’t see any condensation either. I’m not as fussy about these things as Dave, and he was very pleased with it. It’s really difficult when you’re looking to buy a tent isn’t it? They’re so expensive and so many different pros & cons with different models. As a rule I don’t like Velcro but I’m used to it on tents. Are you buying the tent for year round use?
@@FIVE-FOOTLyth Many thanks, it’s just so difficult to decide on a tent when we haven’t seen them in person. We currently use an MSR Elixir 2 which is perfect for Spring/Summer wild camping on Dartmoor but we are looking to do more mountainous camps in Snowdonia and the Lake District so a 4 season tent that can handle strong winds and rain would be great. After much research, the top 2 on our list are the Hilleberg Allak 2 and the Terra Nova Quasar. I’ll try to link the you tube video with the Velcro vents incase you can comment after watching it. Many thanks for your kindness.
@@anthonyevans4022 Hi Anthony. I can’t fault it. It’s really sturdy, feels very substantial, easy to put up. It’s not the lightest in its category, we split the weight between us. But it’s not as expensive as the lighter ones either. I definitely wouldn’t swap it! As a Winter tent, I love it. Hope this helps? If you read the comments I answered a few questions on it a while ago, same situation as you, someone thinking if buying one. She bought one and loves it! Happy camping 👍
