Beijing is a perfect blend of the ancient and the modern, with famous historical landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and the Great Wall of China, alongside bustling neighborhoods, modern shopping malls, and a highly developed public transportation system.
You've definitely captured the essence of Beijing! It's a city of contrasts that always surprises. We had so much fun there and hope to return for a second visit. Thanks for watching our video! ☺️🫶

It is great to see people like you and Mike who are willing to explore and experience China for yourselves instead of listening to the biased media in the west, as a Chinese myself, i have lived in the west for the better part of my life and i have very rarely seen the media report anything positive out of China. and YES, the country has a lot of issues, but the people are friendly and kind, life is diverse and vibrant. it is truly amazing to see you guys smile and laugh. and the expressions you make when you taste some of the incredible foods with the first bites. keep doing what you love and travel for us folks who are bounded by the burdens of life. share your experience. PS. Climbing the great wall in your crocs is the highlight for me.
Compared to Shanghai and Shenzhen, Beijing might not be as fashionable or as diverse, but I think Beijing's core lies in a certain spirit, a spirit of "the emperor guarding the country's gate."
That makes sense! We haven’t yet visited Shanghai and Shenzhen, but we look forward to it. We’re not really fashionable people, so maybe that’s why we vibe so hard with Beijing. 😅 Either way, it was the perfect starting point to our exploration here. ✨
We were very happy about the weather in Beijing for our first visit! And although it is cold, I believe we got very lucky with our weather in Chengdu. Plus, hot pot and cold weather is a perfect mix! Thanks for watching! ☺️
I have watched those clips before and appreciated a lot. But when you put them altogether and make a long documentary episode so I can enjoy it for a second time, I realize that your editing skill is so professional! No wonder I hit the subscribe button the first time I watched your works. They are just so immersive! I am pretty sure they are just great advertisements to attract friends to visit Beijing or China in general. I visited our capital city some times some years ago and have been missing it since. Thank you very much for bringing me back! I wish you are having best your times continuing your trip in my home country!

And thanks for your compliment on our editing. I (Mike) work hard to try and put as much effort into our edits as I can while still trying to maintain a consistent posting schedule. 😊 We’re happy you enjoy our content. ✨
The shredded ginger was for the dumplings. Usually you add the dark vinegar and dip your dumplings in it. You may eat them with the ginger as well. I think you clued in a little after. 😊 Enjoy your trip. Loved your videos. Keep it up! ❤

Moreover, your smiles are incredibly infectious; it’s evident that you are thoroughly enjoying your journey. Soak up the experience fully and have an amazing time exploring China!
I enjoy your video so much and really appreciate you took a huge amount of time to show us the fun and interesting sides of Beijing, not to mention the excellent editing work that you have put in. I'm glad that you enjoyed your visit there and share your experience when you return to the States. Great work Mike & Ashley!
Exactly! It’s amazing how many people just take someone’s word for something. That’s fine for some, but not for us. We have to see things for ourselves. We even encourage people to not take our word for things. As our opinions are our own, and based solely off our experiences. Thanks for watching! 😊
Beijing ist great! From walking through ancient treasures like the Summer Palace, Lama Temple, and the hutongs, to experiencing the futuristic vibes of places like Sanlitun and the CBD skyline, the city offers a dynamic mix of tradition and innovation, all connected by one of the world’s most efficient subway systems.
Ashley if you're still in China, I suggest to Gong Yan show(宫宴). It's the restaurant you can eat delicious food and in the meantime there're actors performing tranditional show, dance, music etc. And the restaurant provide service to wear Chinese Hanfu and provide the tranditional makeup, Hanfu and makeup will pay additional 200 CNY.
That makes sense. We’ve seen them before in other countries as well. I guess they just look more interesting and exotic to us because we can’t read Chinese. 😅😂
In addition to cities, natural scenic spots in China are strongly recommended: Zhangjiajie, Huangshan, Jiuzhaigou and Guilin. ...... In addition, Yunnan Province in China is recommended, where the seasons are like spring, and each season has different scenery, such as Shilin, Dianchi, Cangshan, Erhai, Moon Valley and Yulong Snow Mountain. ......
Yes! We can’t wait to explore the more natural side and beauty of China as well, though, we may wait for it to warm up a bit. 😅😂 On this trip, we’ll probably stick to the cities and then the next time we come back, we can venture out into nature! ✨ Thanks for the great suggestions on places to visit. 🙏
Now it’s 240hr transit visa! So you can have 10 days if you come to China on a transfer next time. please come to My city Shanghai, it is very different from Beijing and will blow you away!
Hey - great video! I’m travelling across China next month and curious as to what the issue was with Alipay at the beginning of your video? Is it easy to set up and get working? Also (not sure when you travelled) but does the Beijing Metro now take foreign cards for “tap and go”? Sounds like Apple Maps is the way to go! Thanks!
Hey thanks! I thought I left that in, but I must have forgot… 😅😅 The issue was that I entered my payment password in wrong. 😂 Yes, Alipay is insanely easy to set up. And so convenient. We haven’t tried to just tap on/off with our cards, but Alipay works great, so if you have that set up, you should be all set. We hope you enjoy your travels. It’s one of the most seamless experiences we’ve had traveling, once you get over the language barrier. But everyone is so helpful and friendly. Let us know if you have any other questions! 😊

end of this month to early next month is Chinese New Year. make sure to Check the place you want to visit is open. and tickets between cities may be difficult to buy. Make your plans consider this factor
i think China has so many of their own Tourist they will not be able to accommodate tourist from outside China. Just image how crowed it can get if more international tourist go to the forbidden City. It is already so packed they will not be able to handle the crowd from abroad. I dont know if office hours will make the tourist number fall but it seems as if they are too many people already.
Hmm, we never thought of it this way. Still, I think with how efficient China is with infrastructure, they could easily sort out a plan to accommodate it. Even though it can be crowded, we’ve been quite fortunate to not have many spots that were unmanageable. This is a good perspective though, and something we hadn’t thought of.
Although I’ve never been to the DIRECT side, when it came to Beijing in China tours, nonetheless, I wish that Great Wall were in the SOUTH rather than the NORTH, so that WE could have all just experienced it (and not just YOU GUYS) sorry… 😢😞
