- ""It's all in the eyebrows!" - In his review of Me and Orson Welles, Dr Kermode thinks that actor Christian McKay brilliantly captures the lead character, Orson Welles, using his eyebrows in Richard Linklater's film, which also stars Zac Efron and Claire Danes.
A grossly under-rated movie. Excellent performances from all the cast.
Mckay as welles is simply stunning
That welles voice is spot on.
It's a very good film. I wish more people had gone to see it.
Christian McKay is simply superb in this film as Orson Welles, a truly magnificent and Oscar-worthy performance, it resonates as true artistically and in your gut, the voice is so good, so authentic and his acting, facial expressions are brilliant also, Christian inhabits his role like he was Born to play Welles, a real Triumph !
love this review! I totally agree with it. There is this snobbery about Zac becuase he started off in High School Musical , but everyone starts somewhere. People say that Zac was totally overshadowed by Christian, therefore Zac wasn't good enough for the film, but actually I think they saw Orson overshadowing Richard, which was supposed to happen.
Christian Mckay is the true star of this movie he made the movie
I love these guys.
will be interested to see how the movie does in the boxoffice when it gets a wide release in U.S.
@OxTheWriter: He is good, even though it's not really him. The voice was overdubbed by Maurice LaMarche who also did voices for Pinky and the Brain
Excellent film. My long time fav. Great cast. True - Zac Efron is amazing here, he has this old Hollywood charm which can not be manufactured. Very talented man.
A terrific film. AND with the greatest personification of Orson Welles ever. Christian McKay is nothing less than Astonishing as Welles.
@OxTheWriter D'Onofrio only did the body double. Orsons voice was dubbed by Maurice LaMarche
Christopher Walken is classically trained in tap etc
On the hand Mr.Kermore really knows what he's talking about, on the other hand he uses way too many words to express himself. I really had to struggle to keep on listening to his waffle for the sake of the substance of it. I definitely will go see Me and Orson Welles.
Robert De Niro could sing and dance. Anybody remember the Scorsese flick New York New York?
Brando re-defined acting but he wasn't a method actor, De Niro re-re-defined acting buy being an extreme method actor along with other traits.
How is he?
Efron is fine people start in fluff and get better.
Look at Michael J Fox, family ties was crap but he got better.
As did Reece Witherspoon, she was Legally Blonde but then she turns into June Carter.
Efron was very good. McKay was better but thats the point.

Mayo looks totally disinterested. If it had only been on the radio he would have got away with it. I won't bother to email him that The Other Side Of The Wind is due out this year.
McKay was genius in this film. The rest of the film was mediocre and average at best.
I'm sorry, that's simply a caricature of Welles and Efron's just not a competent actor or a believable screen entity.
