Brian, your videos are by and far the best on youtube! Your advice on how to play the game better have lowered my scores tremendously! The upsetting part is I new some of these things,
but like many of us do we forget them from time to time, then we start trying a myriad of things that just lead us further astray. Also you have an outstanding way explaining them!
Thank you for all your help!

That's a nice message to wake up to Joe.
Well done for taking the advice on board and implementing it.
I am honored that my videos have helped you lower your score.
I make videos to be just like I coach. Simple and easy to understand.
I have no team. I do everything so from that point of view I control what comes out at every step of the way.
In my coaching I am trying to get simpler every day and I suppose this just feeds into my videos.
I am glad they have found a good home with you.
I appreciate you taking the time to let me know.

Priceless info ! Technical thoughts are for the range. So true. Tip on holding on to a bad shot for ONLY 10 seconds and throw it away like a piece of paper is great 👍
Great tip on trying to “buy” a game with the latest and greatest clubs.
Just bought a set of 2001 Callaway X-14 Pro Series irons with Callaway RCH 75 Pro series graphite shafts for $170 on eBay. Bought the matching AW, SW and LW separately ranging from $20-$40 each. These irons were so ahead of their time they are probably just as good as anything out there today. They Feel great and are very forgiving. I’m going for a custom fit in 2 weeks to see how these fit me after recovering from shoulder surgery in December 2019. Ive played one round of golf since then and also now have bone on bone hip arthritis in my left hip and possibly some in my right hip as well.
Also bought a Taylor Made 2016 M2 driver on eBay in very good condition for $170. Arguably one of the best drivers in the last 10 years. it may have lost a few yards compared to the SIM or SIM2 but for $170 compared to $550 and up it’s a no brainer for me. Also I’ll be putting this M2 to test in my custom fit to see what shaft works best and out of curiosity how it performs compared to something newer like SIM or SIM MAX.
At the end of the day it’s the Indian not the arrow!

In the late 1970's I used to play on the par 3 course at the Erewash Valley Golf Club.
Often I would see Eamonn Darcy, yes the Eamonn Darcy, the Ryder Cup Player, with his dog & a golf club just knocking a ball about.
I used to ask him to give me a tip. One was, don't have your trolley or bag in your line of sight when playing a shot.
"The ball is what you must concentrate on, not a trolley wheel 6 inches away," he said. (How often have I seen this!!!)
To this day, I always park my trolley behind my back when making my golf shot. Excellent advice from Eamonn!!
Thank you Eamonn wherever you may be now. And thank you Brian for another excellent video.

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  3 года назад

      What a great story Robert.
I was fortunate enough to watch Eamon a number of times over the years. I saw him play an event at Royal Melbourne where Greg Norman was out driving him by 30 yards and Eamon beat him.
He sure had a funky swing but he could hit all the shots. After that round I watched him practice. He did not miss a shot.
The whole aim of golf is to get the ball into the hole for the least amount of shots possible.
Thanks for watching and I am glad you are enjoying my content.

This is very good advice! I was never able to work on my golf game seriously until I retired. When working, it was a round this month, maybe one more in six weeks, possibly twice in a month at times. I’ve been going at least once per week now and twice a week when possible. This additional time has been a great benefit. However, as stated in the video, watching lots of videos about improving this and getting away from that, THEN you REALLY have a head full of things to think about at the tee! When you mentioned this, I had to laugh, mainly at myself. I appreciate your videos because they contain common sense improvement tips in bite-sized portions, so they’re not burdensome and have easy takeaways.
After all these years, I am scheduled for a fitting this week! So we’ll see how that goes. Thanks for the vids, and your time in producing them.

@@fitzygolfpro not sure if you are familiar with Wantima in Brisbane, 17 is a short par 4 which has a creek and bush on the left but you have to hit through a narrow tunnel up to the fairway about 10 metres above the tee (white tees) the blues at the back have a similar problem with narrow opening to hit through, carry is approx. 150M. i reckon i put a ball in the creek on that hole 5 in 6 times i tee up on that hole, what is more annoying is i'm not a mug golfer can play to about 12 but this hole hates me and i hate it back. regards

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  3 года назад

      I totally understand.
I would suggest a quiet practice on the hole.
Try 2 different ways of playing the hole.
      I really mean different.
For instance 3 wedges or 9 irons easily get you on for 3. Two putts for a 5 is better than your average.
6 iron and an 8 or 9 iron gets you on for 2 or close.
Maybe you can think of another way.
Just try to make 5 for starters.
      Think outside the square.
