That extra plug by your battery is for reverse lights. You just need 5UG825830000 harness, and 5DM-81950-00-00 relay. The other end is in the right rear fender.
Aaron Reynolds awesome! Over a year later I still love mine and have no regrets. Now that I’ve started adding some performance goodies it’s only getting better!
Great walk through! My winch gets delivered today and my x4 will be here in 3 days! You should do a video on getting to the belt. It would be good to know what to expect if you have to do a trail repair
I plan on going with bigger tires so will need to change weights and probably go with a JBS sheave while I’m in there so that will give me chance to do just that!
From what I’ve seen on replacing the belt, it is not going to happen outside the shop. Too much to dismantle to get to the belt. There is a reason Yamaha has a 10 year warranty on the belt.
Been trying to decide on the Pioneer 1000-5LE vs the Wolverine X4. Did you end up with the Wolverine over your Pioneer? If so can you explain why? Much appreciated!
Yep, I sold my 1000-5 to get the X4. I fell in love with the X4 when I got to review it. The X4 Is smaller and far more nimble in the woods, the seats are a lot more comfy (the flip up seats of the Pioneer are innovative and great for short trips but even my kids found them uncomfortable before lone and every adult I had ride back there was ready to get out in minutes) and is a lot quieter. The biggest factor was engine heat. The engine would heat the middle ROPS bars hot enough to hurt my hands and I did not what my kids to grab a hold of them. Then there is the transmission issues the early 1000’s had but I think Honda has most of that under control at this point. Yamaha now offers a 10 year warranty on their CVT belts so that’s a testament to how good they are! The Pioneer 1000 is a great machine and an awesome combo if you want a work and play buggy with a dump bed but I didn’t and the X4 is just better suited for me.
Not much at all. The pioneer had more top end speed but the X4 feels snappier. Keep in mind the X4 is 5hp less than the Pioneer 1000 but also weighs a bit less. I find I can actually ride the X4 on my trails faster if I want because it’s smalller and much more nimble than the P1k5 was.
Possibly, however I don’t like or recommend wireless remotes. In my experience there is always a delay both starting and stopping which could lead to accidents. Just my 2 cents
did you have any fuse that came with the kit? I have a koplin 4500lb winch that came from the dealer and I just decided to install it myself, however, It wants me to wire tap into an ignition wire. I noticed a red wire with a clear protector on it behind the dash? Also, is there any need for a fuse?
If you use one of the factory installed accessories plugs, there’s 6 of them behind the dash, you don’t need to add a fuse or worry about key on ignition wire as those are pre wired as both.
What are the 4 or 5 wires that are just capped with a white cap on the end? What kind of connection would connect into those and for what purpose? I have these on my 2019 X2 also.
Those are factory installed 12v accessory plugs. They make the Yamaha accessory’s plug an play and you can also buy the other plugs ends to make any aftermarket accessory you buy plug and play as well.
@@AppalachianMountainRiders Ok thank you, that's what I thought, but have no what connectors would connect to those plugs. Could you have connected your winch plug to that instead of the one coming out of the dash like you did? Or would that winch plug end not fit on those?
I haven’t needed to yet. I checked it after brake in and the oil still looked like it just came out of the bottle. I’ll be changing it at the second oil change which won’t be too long away.

Excellent video my friend! You make everything look easy but of course it is when you know what you are doing .. Have a good one!
The Throttle Max is my favorite addition to my rig!
Thank you as always.
Thanks for the info you provide, it has helped me to make a choice in which side by side to get. I got the x4 last weekend 😀

I think you should of put your controller up high to keep it out of water and mud.
I have a same winch can you add wireless remote control from warn and how
Thank you

Now that you have the winch installed can you still access the front diff. fill plug w/o having to remove the winch?
jrb737 it blocks the access from the front a bit but you can still get to the full plug between the upper and lower a arms easy enough.
