It never ceases to amaze me that people would even get in the neighborhood of thinking videos like these are bragging. If you really love something, you find a way.
When I wanted my first set of color pens, I sold a ton of pencil drawings because pencils are easy to come by. Slowly, over time, I worked up to the nice things I have. Inevitably, when I post a pic to my fb of something I've acquired recently, someone acts like I've done something wrong by wanting something nice, working for it and then getting it. I shouldn't be made to feel guilty for setting and achieving goals, and neither should anyone else. There is nothing wrong with earning something, or enjoying the fruits of your labor.
Go you, and I hope you thoroughly love every moment of using all those nice things you have :)

mya m It was from Costco, but Christian got it for me as a birthday gift, so I don't know the price. I wouldn't recommend it though since it's not very sturdy.
***** My camera was from Amazon, the microphone was from Best Buy, the Ott-Lites were gifts from my mom, but are available at a lot of craft stores as well as home improvement stores. The umbrella lights are from Amazon.

+Fil Thanks! I think it's mostly the younger crowd that is shocked. They don't have much money, so it baffles them to see someone with so much stuff. Teens and preteens shouldn't compare themselves to an adult that does art for a living.

I used Crayola too, there is nothing wrong with Crayola, it's one of the finest Water-based materials. the only difference is that the alcohol base in Copic, (and others) is that it makes it easier to blend colours.

crayolas are good for beginners but if you do end up wanting to sell your art, i highly recommend investing in some nicer quality materials so they last longer ^^

aww dont give up i know you can still do it i did do it too i started arts when i was 4 then i just gave up the age from 6 to 8 but now i went back to drawing and it turned out not so bad and my drawings grew and grew until now then i thought drawing is not so bad so please. dont give up.
I know the feeling of being to depressed to try, honestly. I suggest just trying to make a five minute sketch everyday and see how much more motivated you become, don't give up on your passion, please

What an amazing set up you have here.You seem to have thought of everything,I am no artist as such but recently have taken up Art therapy and loving it.I can see how easy it is to get drawn into the art world and we so many amazing products to choose from.I started with cheap pencils but I now have a set of 120 faber castell polychormos and 120 set Caran Dache pablo,a 72 set of derwent pastels and aslo 72 creta colour and have on order a set of 90 Japanese ones,I am going to get a set of the copic markers when I can afford them.

I am on a trip through time, haha. I have workstation tours on autoplay and it's going in chronological order through yours now. Man, I forgot how much light you had in your apartment studio. Your current room is so different with all the goodies you have, the prints and originals from other artists and lovely collections... it must be like ariel's grotto to walk in there in person. "look at this stuff, isn't it neat?!"
I love my little corner, I can keep my toddler out of there and its safer for her (and my artwork, she's ever the critic and, um, "enhances" my drawings with her crayons if she can find it haha). The downside is that it has no windows I can face as I use my desk. I'm probably going to install a mirror behind the desk just to reflect the view from the window on the opposite wall.

Also I'm going to be getting art supplies for Christmas this year and I'm getting the Premier Soft Core Colored Pencils 48 pencil set. Would you recommend these or should I get another brand?

Sakuems I am too...and I even have one pair that are for sewing that I paid a hefty price for when I took a sewing class in college....man I don't really let anyone use them cause I am afraid they will use them on paper. They feel good in your hands though...they have a nice weight to them and you can tell they were made very well.

can you do like a new kinda challenge like $10 art challenge and you have to buy like a kind of paper and markers and pencils and paints or whatever you'd choose to buy but you CANT use anything you didn't buy except obviously like a flat surface? kind of like the $20 makeup challenge if you have ever seen one of those, and just use a portable camera at the store while you choosing all your materials

I had bought a similar desk when I was a teen from Staples (it's in Quebec, idk if you have that store in BC). It was like your desk, but minus the left part, I just had the part with the shelves and the middle part. I built it up myself and was so proud of it, but I had to separate from it once I moved out of my parents'.
The dreaded precision mode! It gets us all time to time lol..

The only option to fix the precision mode...is to buy a new Cintiq.. lol. But in all seriousness I just tried it on mine. I press the ring to the left to turn precision mode on, if I haven't pressed anything else I can just press left again and it turns it off luckily. If that doesn't work you could try changing that hot key to something else so it never happens maybe?
I have no idea what precision mode actually does haha.
learningasidraw None of my buttons are mapped to control precision mode which is what drives me insane! I'm sure there is some way to work it, but I can't figure it out. XD
Many monitors and TVs are designed for mounting. To use the ergotron arm, I just had to unscrew the back plate to remove this circular piece that is used to mount the cintiq onto its default stand. The back of the cintiq has 4 empty screw holes that are there for mounting. The distance between screws is standard across all monitors, so any mounting device can be used. There is a metal plate on the end of the ergotron arm that screws into the back of the monitor. I am pretty new to copics so I only have cool greys at the moment. I would like to purchase some skin colours but I am not sure which ones I should go for. There is a 6 pack that has some good colours in, but there is also a set of 12 so I was going to go for that, the problem is.. the 12 set only has half of the 6 set ones in. Urgh decisions decisions, if you recommend some I would be extremely greatful! I am not sure whether to get a set or just individually order some :)

I love drawing and art I'm the artsy type at my house and I use a desk but it's super small and I don't have anything on it I do have a lot of art stuff like charcoal , pens , pencils , erasers , and two drawers filled with drawing books 25 in total 2nd grade to 7th so far , cabinets with pencil cases with color pencils , also acrylic paint , water color 2 kits , paint brushes and I look at this and I'm thinking that when I get older I'll have almost all of her stuff or more but I'll be broke

I hate people that watch vids like this and suggest they give stuff away, like seriously, get a job and work to buy your own shit, and stop begging people to give you theirs, that's not how life is buddy. You're in for a rude awakening if you think life consists of generous people that'll just give you or hand out shit that they WORKED hard for.
Its not fair to incriminate someone for asking a simple question. We all have the right to ask questions. yes we can get jobs and pay for stuff and yes people can give away stuff to. It doesn't matter how you get your supplies unless you steal because that's wrong. so stop putting hateful comment on other peoples videos and comments just because you don't like something. create a RUclips channel where you rant, or make a Facebook page. Then its the peoples choice to read them. Being rude over the internet to people you don't even know is pointless. i am stating out facts and defending the people you hurt. Kindness goes a long way.
And also its better if she gives away her stuff if she is not using it. throwing it out is wasting and hurting the environment. and other people cant afford luxuries like some.

Try to offer enticing rewards, but don't give yourself more work than you can manage.
