Do not start with a colonization capital ship, unless you're Vasari and have no choice, but the Vasari start with exotics so they can quickly build a second capital ship. The extra firepower from a combat capital is much more valuable and lets you clear planets much faster. Needing to build a colony frigate is worth the cost. For example, compare the Kol to the Akkan. The Kol has twice the DPS as the Akkan, and it's better DPS since the Kol has high weapon penetration weapons so it does more damage against units with higher durability and armor. Against light units, a Kol can do as much damage as an Akkan and 5 Cobalt frigates combined. Against heavy ships like a Harcka, which can spawn around wrecks, the Kol's higher penetration Gauss Cannons can do as much damage as 14 Cobalt frigates. Plus, with a combat capital, you're going to put your first skill point into a combat skill, which lets them do even more damage. And if you're playing Advent, the Halcyon can have 5 strikecraft groups at level 1, which lets you easily focus down the Krosov frigates first and open a planet up for colonization. Plus it lets you outrange Javelis cruisers and kill them without taking damage.
if we want to go down to this depth it can also change if you have a long term plan. Want a Unity rush as the Advent well the extra unity the Progenitor offers for free might be a good idea, or as the TEC if you think you will struggle early with orbital slots for trade hubs then the extra cap from the Akkan will defintely help. Big gun doesn't always mean better.
Want to comment as well to just further hammer in the fact that you should never choose a colonization capital ship unless you want to try an eco strat as TEC that leaves you vulnerable early on, combat capitals are easily the best choice to make for your first ship and the colony ship is usually worth the cost to have a capable capital ship when it comes to fighting, especially if you end up against vasari
I am sorry, but so much of this video is confidently incorrect, which is too bad, because sins 2 really needs these types of video guides. The ctrl+click hint is good, but depending on the size of the fight, often Alt+click is better, and you don't even mention it as an option. Also, using the right overview is MUCH easier than trying to click on individual ships in the middle of a fight. The fleet suggestions are laughable. 1 skirantra carrier? 1 dunov? Those are your medic units, and they can not heal themselves. Bring 2+ or bring zero. Similarly, always shoot the medic first. This means Skirantras against vasari, Donovs (and hohos, depending on the fleet size) against TEC, and progenitor/guardians against Advent. Dividing your fire like you suggest while the medics are still alive just makes the medics more powerful and able to do their job for longer, EXPECIALLY against advent with the progen's AOE heal. I could go on and on, but others already have, and more particular things will likely change as the game gets patches.
Advanced tips: Pick Tech Primacy, investigate no ship unlocking but build as many strong capital ships early (dreadnaughts, carrier capital etc.) by taking deralicts and doing some planetary survey, investigate on pirate faction to take as many boarding crew as possiple, travel through galaxy in close proximity to snatch tier 3 attack ships especially missile cruisers, try to get at least 10 missile cruisers 3 strong capital ships and moderate amount of firgates like 10+, rush to nearest enemy faction and totally destroy it and you end up with having early advantage over other enemies enjoying developing basically 2 starting points. Do not lay down your weapons though beacuse other enemy factions will rush to dead faction location to pick some free planets. Keep investing on pirate faction and snatch high tier attack ships (missile cruisers etc.) as many as possible. Only good early investments on new ship types are carriers and repair ships. Others are not worth picking. Totally ignore colonization capital ship early. It is not worth investing early. After eradicating your closest neighbour just build one to boost your main fleet with reloading speed first not for colonization boost. After having colonizing on your closest dead neighbours location play a bit defensively and directly rush to build Ragnarov Titan as quickly as possible. After having built the titan you basically win the game. No early game enemy defense is strong enough to resist Ragnarov Titan backed by some carriers and repair ships.
Honestly sounds more like suicide to me against any average player. First of all putting all your points into the boarding crews means your opponent basically gets the auctions by default. And then you have to go up against a bunch of bomber squadrons chasing you across the gravity well with hardly a way to defend yourself. The Titan needs Civic Tier 3 and Military Tier 4 which doesnt come cheap to begin with disregarding the titan costs. Im guesstimating this but by the time you could start your titan youd easily face off against 1000+ fleet supply. More against a good player. Of course you can play however you want but Im not sure if this is an advanced tip. Sounds more like a fun tactic against the AI.

@@buffwarriors Well if youre talking me specifically it really depends on the map and faction I chose. Youre aware that the auctions give thousands of resources or up to 6 exotics each, right. Like thats an insane advantage.
@@TheDude50447 Stolen ships are woth more than thosands of recources because they require almost zero invesnments. @@buffwarriors now ive thought a bit about this and it really depends on the timing. And i was wondering why you wouldnt integrate the very strong pirate fleet you can research as primacy at military Tech 2 and why the sova isnt constantly producing corvettes? That could actually really work.
In the micromanagement section you should talk about the gravity well summary in the top right. You can left click one of your ship stacks to select all of that type, then alt-right-click an enemy ship type to give the command to focus fire in order. Or you can spread out the damage which may be situationally useful for LRM types to reduce overkill
870 supply end game fleet? Unfair/Nightmare Ai is usually casually throwing around 1k fleets before the first hour. Variety is key yeah. Usually more heavy on the frigate missile ships than anything else.
I get that a retrofitting building (or other retrofitting ability) is important for making items for capital ships. Are they important for Titans and Starbases too? ie., do Titans and Starbases get the buildtime debuff for items without a retrofitter around?
I don't follow this strategy at all. The problem is that if you mix ship types and try to build balanced fleets you will fail to more specialized ones. For instance if I am TEC going against primarily Vasari I will try to rush carriers and then build nothing but carriers and standard frigates with my extra income and metal. Going up against the Advent is harder I will either focus on entirely capital ships, or heavy-hitting ships with a lot of firepower. Most of my tactics are macro, for instance with a fleet of primarily carriers I will use hit-and-run tactics around stars or or other planets with large gravity wells, engaging with fighters and bombers for a period and then warping out before they are able to close the distance. It also depends on whether you are playing single player vs. AI or vs. human opponents, my go to strategy for AI (up to nightmare) is to use nothing but basic frigates, capital ships, and carriers, but against human players you have to be a bit more ataptive and try to build the counters to what they have. If you are playing teams you should each specialize in your strengths, and then work together, ie. if your teammate is focussed on building maximum carriers, you should build a fleet designed to take out the flak frigates and others with fast, heavy-hitting ships so his fighters and bombers can focus on capital ships and other targets of opportunity.

I more often then not use Colony Seed Nanites instead of actually building a any dedicated Colony ship.

This is a meh video for beginner single player. Doesn't hold up at all for multiplayer.
11:00 Pro tip select your ship in the top right then right click on the enemy ship thats in the top right
I don't think those tips are particularly good or even correct. They only work if you play against easy AI and none of your choices actually matter.
Click Bait and do not take this advice into multiplayer.
