  • @AbcDef-iq4no
    @AbcDef-iq4no 9 месяцев назад +2

    It's amazing how much damage vines can do when left unchecked. I purshased a house six years ago where the previous owner allowed English ivy and trumpet vines to grow onto the house and the side of a large carport. It was a painstaking project to remove it all without damaging the siding on both structures. Needless to say I have never allowed it to grow back.

      @billvandorn5332 9 месяцев назад +1

      I agree, it might add some character growing up the buildings but can easily get out of hand! I've spent many hours cutting Vines growing up the trees to help save them.
      What drives me nuts if I allow it, is seeing all the good so being allowed to grow rampant along the parkway's in roadways! I know it's an asexual plant soy-free production rate increases exponentially yet with today's technology it seems like it could be mitigated for better Land Management

I will say south carolina has a very big collection of eco lol and if you dont tame it every year it can get out of hand. I don't know if it's the sandy soil they have or what but it can be like a jungle in some parts like Myrtle Beach and southern south carolina like Charleston and Hilton Head.

    Great Job tackling the Weisteria Devin, BUT from my understanding from Robert [ The Old Byrd Farm Vlog ] whom has 11 arces of this crap that he has been fighting for over 2 to 3 yrs getting rid of, is that the ONLY way to get rid of westiera is the dig up the roots and burn it, cause you can cut it down, but it will continue to grow back and damage and kill trees or anything else it's vines get wraped up with, as you know, the ONLY nice thing on what your able to do with chopping a lot of that westeria out of the trees, is that as long as there are no roots those remaining vines are attached to, they will dry up and died as they fall out of the trees.. Thus Far, and as usual, Great Job Devin! God bless you. Love your videos!

      I am inclined to say Kudzu is more aggressive. It is asexual and pollinates on its own with some help from pollinators.
      The wysteria flower is both male and female and requires pollinators like bees and hummingbirds to cross pollinate and by the roots.
      The only benefit with the Wisteria is it's beautiful color and sometimes sweet bouquets. Sometimes the bouquet can be more of a muskie like scent versus sweet smelling and would depend upon the species grown!
