  • Note, FULL FLIGHT does not literally mean I'm going to hold the camera for an 11 hour flight, it means the main parts of the flight; takeoff, inflight, and landing. If you thought I was going to do anything other than what I said, you are wrong.
    I am very sorry for any inconveniences because RUclips took my other video down, claiming it was inappropriate and violated their terms. They did not give me an option to appeal or anything, so I am just going to re-upload this video. Sorry for any misunderstandings and I hope you enjoy the video. Please like, comment, subscribe, and most importantly, share with your friends! #planespotting #aviation #avgeek

    Does the A380 always use thrust reverse for that long on landing? Is it due to the size of it? I mostly fly on China Airline and in recent years I've noticed China Airlines' 747s not even using thrust revers on landing, or only for a few seconds.

    • @LotsaJunk
      @LotsaJunk 9 лет назад

      Its the size, if they didn't the plane had the danger of overrunning the runway due to its heavy weight.

    • @djfrayz
      @djfrayz 9 лет назад

      Lotsa Junk +op3l Thrust reversers actually have very little effect compared with air and wheel braking. The A380 has very large, well-cooled composite brakes on 16 wheels. Airliners aren't even required to have reverse thrust - in fact, the only requirement for airliners concerning reverse thrust, is that they must be able to stop *without* it, and also in fact, the A380 was initially designed completely without reverse thrust, but was added late in its development to help in wet conditions.
      Reverse thrust is there simply for a *little* extra assistance as desired (and it isn't truly reverse - it's more perpendicular to forward thrust). The A380 only has two reversable engines anyway - the outboard engines aren't equipped with any due to their distant location on the wing which usually exceeds the taxi- and runways, where FOD may be ingested. +Ryan Faricy what ??? no no no the thrust reverse it's very much important on an airplane the 747 use all the engine for thrust reverse and a380 use only 2 engine for thrust but the thrust reverse it's the most important thing used for stop the plane, the speed brake no more important than the thrust reverse

    The sun never set on that flight. I usually take AF 072 to LAX or I take AF 065 to Paris.
    Jet lag is better on the return to the US but really hard going to Europe

      Lol it's actually the complete opposite for me : the jet lag is really hard going to US but when I return to France I rapidly get used to the timezone.
