  • Episode 5 of the Chicago North Western Harvard Subdivision in N Scale. The Harvard Subdivision imagines a world where the CNW is still operating today, and features modern operations in N scale. This episode I get to start construction of the main part of the layout in the finished area of the basement that will actually have scenery. Benchwork up until the door is built, and track is laid and wired that connect to the staging area.

I new when the painting was done you would get started with the bench work. I like the way you lay some track, wire it and test with a train. Thanks for sharing. Have a good 4th. 😎😎👍

Great progress! It's very tempting to rush ahead to get more and more track down, especially at the beginning. Take your time with your track laying. You'll never regret taking the time to lay smooth, well-running track. Conversely, rough trackwork is a constant source of disappointment. Taking videos as you go is a great way to detect spots that need attention and to ensure your trackage results will serve you and your operating crew well!

Hey Tim great update, a lot of work but it's coming along great ..couple things for ya just to keep ya up on terminology, when you have a dead-end track that goes into a lumber yard it's not a siding it's called a spur track, Poseidon has two switches one on each side attract that goes into an industry that has a dead-end is called a spur... Love you lay out love your updates I also have an N scale layout if you're interested in checking it out. Keep up the great work just wanted to keep you updated on the great terminology since you're going to probably do a bunch of videos... Gary
