I love her so much, when I heard that she was from Peru I knew they were going to great things with her. Sun powers are so fitting for this character.
Say what you want about the game, but I adore how dedicated the devs are to being accurate with the culture of their heroes.
The thing is OW would a amazing game if the devs had the final word in it.

Yoo. I love seeing passionate people telling how they do their work. That sound designer was soo real too. "Like, I probably didn't have to do this.. But wouldn't it be cool to make this into that?!!" But I love them for this.
She's so cool, I really like the instruments for the sound design, that's actually sick!

We need an entire episode just about the foley artist for this game, that aspect alone is fascinating.

When i found out illari was peruvian i got so excited. you see peruvian rep in NOTHING. seeing this beautiful character who is peruvian AND speaks Quechua is so heartwarming.
My dad is indeginous and him and his family were fluent in the language, sadly it is burning out, but seeing it in this game makes me so grateful. Having someone who is peruvian and speaks Quechua to voice act Illari is amazing.
More so, i love that illari skin tone is one of usually indigenous people! me and my dads side of the family are this exact skin color and im so happy to it!
One thing that i feel could be changed about her design is her hair. While she has two braids, its hardly noticible,looks like just one braid. usually braids are shown in the front (given how stiff they are, they usually stay in place there) and i feel like i gives a better picture.
ALSO PLEASE ADD PERUVIAN CLOTHING I WOULD BUY IT!!!!!!!!

Illari is such a cool character and really shows how passionate the developers are about the game and the stories they want to tell. THIS is what Overwatch is about, and it's part of what makes the game great.
Its just such a shame that everything seems to be overpowered by the poor decisions that management has made over the years.
Its cool how she got sun powers into her kit. She got the power of the sun, in the palm of her hands 🌞

It's actually sick the efforts that went into the sounds and weapon of the charachter, always thought about how they came up with the sounds of the weapon charging up.
It's cool that they did their research about the culture they based the hero on.
Andrea seems to be the kindest and humble person ever. Also her voice is incredible!

What a cool way to incorporate Peruvian instruments into the sound effects. I never would have guessed her ult sound effect was a pan flute being swung in a circle.

Seeing how passionate and dedicated the actual OW2 developers are about this game brings me so much joy and also makes me even more sad that they're tied to a company like ActiBlizz to make it. Wish they could go off and make this game on their own as an actual indie studio or something. With people like these folks on the dev team, you just know they'd actually be able to make this game amazing, without all that corporate interference.

She’s my fav character since Moira. Dps influenced supports are just so fun and her design is absolutely phenomenal, inspirational, and drew my attention so quickly. My heart swells with emotion when video games care so much about inclusion, accurate representation, and making love letters to the cultures and peoples that serve as the base for the characters. I am so happy that I get to live in a time where these themes of globalization and showcasing all of humanity are at the forefront of artist’s minds.
They should do this with new voice actors for the game more often. Also I wish the the VO actors who don't know their character's language would actually take time to learn them: it's crazy how Rein doesn't have German voice lines and a bunch of Zarya's voice lines sound wrong because her actress is from Bulgaria
She's one of my favourite support hero to play! They made an amazing work on this character

Glad the Art and Sound teams actually put in effort and cares about delivering quality stuff, can't say the same for the Gameplay or Marketing teams.

I keep hearing about how her design is heavily inspired by Peruvian culture, but hear nothing about her lore and her connection to historical events in Overwatch universe.
I know ‘representation’ is being a big word in western political culture, but is Illari seriously no more than an in-game representation of Peruvian culture?
The beauty of Overwatch was about heroes from diverse backgrounds joining together for shared commitments to global peace and prosperity, each having their own values and personalities. It was not about putting soulless avatars of real life culture on display for show or ‘representation.’
I’m really hoping Blizzard will flesh out Illari’s lore later on in some manner. As of now, she feels like a Peruvian ambassador dispatched into Overwatch universe, rather than an SF hero native to Overwatch universe who has her own ideal to pursue and happens to have cultural connection to a real life country.

Devs can f themselves
on watch point giblartar theres a tire swing (only on team number 2 aka red...). if you shift it it as ilari launches it incredibly fast more than it looks it can go. also if you put turret there and shift then it gets destroyed if the turret touches the roof, it can also get destroyed after a while on being on the swing set [Do you think this is a bug ]
I love illari so much and I can't wait for the new tank in season 8. I think I have an idea who it might be 👀
