I have 100% figured outfinally after 36 Years that all my highs and lows with creativity are related to my cycle. Now I plan things appropriately around my cycle . I know that would probably be difficult to do When it's your bread and butter but It's worth some thought . Also I totally loved your painting of the vase with the pink underpainting as it was with first layer like you did. Feels like it holds move emotions with those loose brush strokes and the underpainting coming through
The part where you mentioned having a weird relationship with painting now that it’s been your job I FEEL THAT. Not only because it’s a job but because you have to show it and feel like it all has to be sellable. It really interferes with the creative process. It’s something I’ve been trying to nurture too and wish there was a group of artist that this could be discussed about and support for one another. When I don’t document/film/ photograph the process it gets better. Also staying offline too has helped. Sometimes I think I have made painting a habit again and then I drop it and go back to sketching or digital illustrations
I have to say that sometimes I find it hard to watch long videos but with your videos I just never get bored, it brings me so much peace that I always end up watching till the end 🥰 I also have to say that those little conversations you have with james are so cute haha he seems to be such a golden retriever type

Your so right about the different oatmilks and how it makes the coffee tastes!! I’m a barista at my local coffee shop and we use silk (which I don’t like the taste of. It’s oddly sweet so it mixes odd with syrups) but my fav coffee shop where we buy our beans from uses califa and it tastes way different (and I like it more :)

This isn't exactly the same as fulfilling the postcard tier, but recently I was working on a piece and it was a piece I sort of knew would never see the light of day, i.e. I wouldn't share it on social. But I simultaneously didn't want to work on it while I also really wanted to finish it, but ALSO also wouldn't allow myself to start any new art until it was finished. It ended up taking almost a week because I was also busy working on other non-art projects. It was really annoying, but I just couldn't help myself from finishing it before I started anything else. And it would just sit there staring at me in my studio.

i totally feel what you're saying about being a painter and wanting to be a painter and not just a sketchbook person. nothing wrong with the sketchbook person vibe. i think we're all here for a good sketchbook time any time. but i definitely feel the same way about wanting to be more into my painting and wanting to be ALSO less scared about it. i feel so intimidated about starting a painting - especially on canvas - because what if it's not shareable??? the only way i'm managing to get through this - even at the slug pace that i'm actually getting through it all - is to just do it anyway. ya never know if you don't try it out. and maybe it WILL be nice enough/to our standards enough to share. but we have to do it to find out. HOW AWFUL HAHA. actually crying.
I tend to love messy and gestural pieces (because it's what I tend to make as well) , it is hard to make a piece look conventionally "finished" without losing the movement and personality that comes from the initial sketch
