    A lot of charities in Canada are largely GST and income tax exempt in Canada. In Toronto they also get upwards of 40% property tax rebates. If you dont believe me look it up. Many of the large charitable organizations have enough money to last for years without donations. We should go after them and finally make them pay for their fair share.

    Wow, way to skip the labor perspective on this issue. Dude reads a release from CPKC saying the union isn’t cooperating, but THEY SAT ON THEIR HANDS FOR MONTHS during ‘negotiations’ after they demanded an extension. What passes for journalism in Canada is little more than rereading corporate press releases.
    I know workers on rail yards in Alberta, and their working conditions are pretty awful. And these are senior guys… would love ANYONE to share that story. Maybe after the next Lac Megantic… 🤷🏾‍♂️

    if the government forced me to get back to work I would quit - and look for other jobs or industry

    Too lazy to find another job, very likely too lazy to survive in private sector.
