The first outfit was SO much better with the black skirt. The grey skirt was a different grey than the shirt. And the black skirt was so cute and tied in with the shoes and bow detail.

The first outfit you wore to NYC and the dark academia outfit are the ones that were my favorite and something I would personally wear. But the rainbow, the last outfit, and the dark academia are ones that suit you the most.
I feel like the last stylist did really well. It looks the most natural on you and seems the most thought out regarding your inspiration. I think her styling looks best on you bc maybe you both have grandma energy so she just gets it. Its whimsy, its comfortable, and modest. Those outfts look amazing on you

I 100% relate to feeling like a public nuisance in outfits I’m uncomfortable in. I straight up have panic attacks getting ready if for some reason the clothes I would normally wear are in the laundry, or I’m having to dress up for an event but I didn’t have time to shop. Logically I get it’s not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but I’ve missed events because I just couldn’t get myself to leave! I get so panicked my hands shake!

Big agree! With their focus on fun colours and patterns mixed with comfort, I think they are def a Mia brand. I love that a lot of their accessories (bags, scarves, scrunchies) are made from deadstock fabric. Nothing goes to waste! And they've got a great recycle/upcycle program too.

The brown jacket outfit and the pink dress with that amazing sweater were a whole vibe. The brown jacket on its own is so versatile and looks good on you. It could easily go with multiple outfits. Also quit putting yourself down! You are cute/elegant and your fashion sense is fine. It can take time and exploration to experiment with style, but your style is already nice. Like the candy charm necklaces you wear sometimes or some of your sweaters, I have loved. You would definitely be fun to thrift with and just pick stuff out to try, though.

I believe Mia is 5'2 if memory serves me correctly, so that's besides the point. Also, coming from the perspective of a petite curvy woman, most petite clothing is indeed very small width-wise. I never found a pair of pants to fit my short legs, big butt, and small waist, until I went to Torrid some years ago. Bought 3 pairs of pants that same day and haven't bought any since. Walmart "petite" sizes are primarily only for slim people. I'm unsure how the clothing market is in Canada, but if it's anything like the US, Mia wasn't wrong to assume the petite sizes would be slimmer. That's just how they are, despite their technical definitions.

I mean if you are confident wearing super "dressy" clothes to run and grab some milk or something then go for it. But I think many of us have the same nervous energy without the support of context. The example of how you felt better in your outfit when at the Met or at the Theater is clear. So that outfit was more "going out" outfit in your mind (just guessing) than walking around the park or something. Context, at least for me, is key to feeling more confident in my clothes.

My favorite outfits were stylist 2's first outfit (tights, gray plaid skirt), then her second (jeans), then stylist 1's first outfit (I like both the gray & black skirts). To feel more comfortable in skirts & dresses, especially minis, you can wear bike or yoga shorts or 'slip shorts' underneath (even with sheer tights). When it's cold you can wear leggings or fleece lined opaque tights underneath- then you're covered and warm. 💗
