Love this song. Good work on this one. Fun Fact: This was the last song The Beatles recorded before they went to India. It's also the last time it sounds like they're all having fun in the studio together.
Awesome! I've always thought of Ween as a sort of continuation of the more interesting, weird Beatles songs ( Hey Bulldog isn't very weird, but it's great). I guess it's the combination of high skill and playful surrealism that both bands had.
Realize this is a 5-year-old comment, but I've always thought the same exact thing. Couple of guys who've known each other since they were kids, don't know theory, and aren't afraid to make a pastiche of literally any genre and do it well.
McCartney/Lennon vs Freeman/Melchiondo.....B vs W, Very decent conversation right there.....And then consider the comparison of Gener solo in relation to P/mc in Wings....very, very similar style of music
Hey I'm curious- why'd you decide to play this one? I had asked the drummer for The Flaming Lips a couple weeks before about covering this at the Ween/Lips show at the Greek in Berkeley. He said they wouldn't be able to do it but you played it the one and only time the night before that show...just wondering if my suggestion was floated to you guys since you were touring with them...that'd be incredible if that were the case. Just seems too coincidental to not be related...could be though. Anyway AMAZING job and wish you'd played it at the Greek that night! :P
The Beatles are so good they wrote a ween song.
Now that's funny!
Ha ha yes it is
best sentence ever.
It would be a wet dream to hear the Beatles cover Ween.

Nope, last time that sounded like they were having fun was You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)
Tanguo I’m pretty sure that was recorded around the time of Magical Mystery Tour
Thanks a lot India! Sheesh
...and Lennon played the solo on it.

Crabula Any band that has Carnival of Light on its resume is ok in my book

I love how heavy this sounds! I hope you play more of your favorite Beatles and John Lennon songs. That would be so stellar!
Sails the nolo
such a good tune, never heard a cover of a Beatles song that I've loved more than this!
