    WOW…me too. I picked up a Delta scrollsaw 30 years also. I have a great wood shop and this is my favorite. I cut out any and everything just like this video shows. I also do a lot of what is called photo sculpturing. I mount a picture, baby announcement, wedding;g invitation etc…etc…etc onto 1/4 inch plastic acrylic and cut out the image on the scroll saw and put it on a base….and walaaaaaa…..a great way to display any image. I could certainly afford to upgrade my Delta but it does everything I need …it’s on a basal so I can roll it around in my shop. Have fun…scroll sawing is great.

    I envy you my friend, you have a brilliance of artistic talent. I too …regardless of how much I DESPISE even mentioning any ability in art I have, people call me crazy, I am never ever satisfied with my pieces. I have and god as my witness only have been satisfied in some respect to an artistic piece I made 2 or 3 times in over 35 years of creating. I rip my work up and toss them. I was always told I had a gift and this talent that others envied. I didn’t see it. It runs in my family tree, so I suppose I got it. But my stupid arrogance and hubris didn’t allow me to study and learn from either university or mentors of old. In my own mind I thought if I was truly talented as I am being told then I don’t need to be taught or go to university to obtain any degree. The best artists in history have been educated and had mentors. But I just misinterpreted the word talent in the most despicable way possible. I wasted so many years.
    I am now finally willing to understand what being an artist is all about. You can not just draw a human figure and get all of our anatomy and proportions correct without being educated. But I thought “talent “ meant something different. It is a catalyst in the development but it goes so much deeper. I wasn’t so many years.

    What brand saw is that? I just picked up the Wen scrollsaw, my only complaint is it's a bit lightweight so it jumps around a bit, but I'm going to be table mounting it which should resolve that issue, other that it's a great saw that I just started with and started cutting out random shapes and letters for practice! Super easy to use, and the instructions on how to calibrate it and change the blade adapters were very easy to follow and super simple

    Got a quick question for you I was recently homeless and my girlfriend took me in she let me live in her garage I brought my scroll saw with me that I bought for 15 bucks now my dad was a finish Carpenter I actually need help what can you advise

    • @woodworkeveryday
      @woodworkeveryday  Год назад

      I would go to your local hardware store or online like Amazon and buy a couple 1/4 inch boards of balsa wood. I like sizes like 12 by 12 inch. Maybe in the same order grab some number 5 skip tooth blades (I use olson brand). Once you get that order print out some free scroll saw patterns (googled) and then drill some holes, feed that blade through, and get cutting! Good luck and know that this hobby isn’t the cheapest or the most expensive. Everything has a start up cost. Also this is my opinion on the very little I know about what you want to do. Good luck cutting!

    Great video. Only my opinion, But if you want to do good work, do yourself a favor and buy a quality tool. These days, unfortunately that means around $500. The lesser tools are not capable of handling intricate work cleanly. The DeWalt version (IMO) is the best entry level machine. The machine in this video is a small custom manufacturer, built in America. Very High Quality. Machine.

      I bought a cheaper version ( in the U. K.) about £120
      What I would say is to got one that doesn’t take “pinned blades” as you have a much better option of specialist blades with the plain end blades.
      Wish I’d known before buying.
