Cracking down on a persons religion/folkway is a bad idea because no matter what other viciousness you choose to employ, you need to be able to state for the record that your side didn't go there. That one special moment when it becomes possible to say that can be an extremely powerful moment. For the record im guilty of telling people "There is no God!" when those individuals tried to monopolize God, so I'm no saint here. I only did it in a vain effort to shut them up.
Orthodox men wear the yarmulke at all times, other Jews wear them during prayer. As Ben has said every time he has been asked about it, it is a symbol to remind them that there is always someone above them, that someone being God. Because you don't have faith in God doesn't mean others shouldn't.
Did you skip the middle of the video where he addresses that this is not attack at the religion? Card is just pointing out that it's bizarre that Ben wears religious garb, but prioritizes facts over feelings when debating others on what they believe- when faith/belief is a feeling. You don't BELIEVE facts, you know them or you don't.
@@invaderfrombeyond Yeah it's almost like you can't scientifically measure atoms of justice. You can scientifically measure facts surrounding an individual case, who was where, who did what, etc. Your foundational moral principals will still inform a lot about how you interpret them. Most ideologies then have to deal with the real world and interpret their teachings into action. It's really easy to criticize Christianity or Judiasm but it's a lot harder to present a well rounded and thoughtful alternative. If just pointing out a few facts disrupts your ideology's 'justice' then you aren't going to get very far. Your ideology should value truth and already have incorporated those facts.
Seriously Card, you missed the ACTUAL reason Shapiro wears that hat: VANITY, the cardinal sin 'god' has expressly forbidden. All because he doesn't want anyone to see his bald-spot
This is really the real reason. It is an image he wishes to portray, of being Jewish. And the hat is apart of his vanity to make the image he so wishes.
you talking about Jews, who have spent the last 3000 years claiming to be God's chosen people AND the victim in every human interaction they have ever had??? seems like a group of folk worth calling out... why not identify as a human and as an individual like i do; why keep referencing a people from thousands of years ago in the Middle East??? can you imagine humans 2000 years from now saying we need to create an American state, like the Jews/British did with Israel??? i don't hear anyone bitching about the lack of a Roman or Viking state??? fax!!!
Let’s just call it what it is - a prop. It’s no different than a Christian pointing to their prominently displayed cross necklace when trying to justify their bigotry. “Oh, my hateful and evil beliefs are totally fine because GOD,” and point to their religious prop of choice.
I don't think that's it. If he wanted to show it off, there are much more flamboyant yarmulkas. When I went to Hebrew school, I had a really nice handmade blue and white one(blue background white details) that was also much larger than Ben Shapiro's. There were some that were even more ornate than mine with nice trimmings and intricate designs. Even some cheap ones were made of bright silvery fabric. A small plain black one is the kind you wear if you want to wear one but don't want to draw attention to the fact that you are wearing one.
Eventually, you’ll get on cross-sec hormones and start wearing make up. You already grow out your hair. Take the leap of faith into transitioning. It’s clear you want to. Good luck 👍
@@RabbitWatchShop Oh you sweet, sweet summer child. But I suppose, as a tiny hat wearing individual yourself I would never expect you to understand. Only to keep crying out.
You are clearly targeting Ben Shapiro and I accept that but this has wider implications. You're basically saying that his fiction has no merit but yours does based on "That Tiny Hat". You say: "Why do I have to pretend his made up thing is real?" Well my question to you is: why, (as a non-jew) do I have to pretend that gender rules that are clearly a construct of recent history (or as you would say "made up") are more legitimate than Ben Shapiro"s views or any other view?
@LtDanDangle your assumption that my statement was framed as a “gotcha” is incorrect, as is your assumption that I am trying to prove the existence of a higher power, I don’t care if there is or isn’t. So remind me what your point is and why I need to cite sources in the context of my initial comment..?
First time here. Didn`t know that Joker makes videos
