God is so good and in this book of Esther, He gave the Jews the power and strength they needed to prevail against its enemies! Also, sometimes He does the battles for victory behind the scenes. He is ALWAYS faithful. The Jews only wanted to defend themselves and they didn't take the spoils from the victory either! I love the story of Esther and Mordecai...studied it again today!! There's also a battle going on with those who love Israel and the people. As a redeemed gentile in America, I can tell you we pray for Israel and the acceptance of the Messiah, learning about Hebrew festivals enriches our faith & understanding of the covenants God made with His people. God's timing is very hard for me to be patient about. I get so frustrated because I realize how short human lives are, and I don't understand waiting for liberation. I'm trying. I just remind myself that I work for the Lord. He does NOT work for me. Thus, we go by His schedule.

I grew up knowing the story of Esther and understanding the standard explanations of it. It was an exciting story, but I now have a different perspective. I still appreciate the final outcome, but for a different reason.
At a certain point, Mordecai decided to take a stand for what he believed, and not bow to Haman, but what if he had decided to take his stand for what God had said/commanded, earlier in the story? The Jews were not supposed to marry non-Jews. This King had just divorced his wife, some say because she would not obey his order to appear before him, and the guests invited to his party, in an indecent or immodest way. Whatever the case, his decision to divorce her was not honorable.
Who would want their daughter to become part of the harem of such a king, especially a Jew who should have known that Jews should not give their daughters to non-Jews, that Jews should not marry outside of Israel? The right thing would have been for Mordecai to not recommend Esther participate in such a “pageant.”
It sounds like at the time the trouble started, Mordecai was hanging around the palace because Esther was there. If he hadn’t been there in such a public place where Haman was coming and going, it wouldn’t have been so obvious or blatant that he was not bowing to Haman, and if Esther had not been there, most likely, Mordecai wouldn’t have been in such a noticeable location where his decision to refuse to bow was so glaringly obvious.
So my conclusion is that even when the Jews disobey God’s laws and statutes, He still intervenes and saves them.
And this is what we see in modern Israel. There are blatant perversions being accepted and promoted and legalized by the state of Israel. Even religious Jews are in rebellion against the God they claim to believe in. Many of the things they teach are anti-biblical. The Talmud supersedes the Bible. Man-made standards are claimed to be what God has commanded - in prayers, in books, in teaching (in Judaism). I sometimes attend a Chabad and am very discouraged at what I hear and read. The “rabbi” doesn’t seem to know the difference between the stories of Talmud and the true history of the Tanach. He blends them all together like they are on equal ground. And the articles that come out of Chabad are often not biblical at all.
But God will preserve Israel - not because of Israel’s righteousness or faithfulness, but because of G-D’s righteousness and faithfulness. He will keep His word in SPITE of Israel’s actions. And this will bring blessing to the whole world.
