- Ford sets out to take down the elite track focused supercars with the all new Ford Mustang GTD. I head to Las Vegas to check the car out and secure my allocation for the craziest and most advanced Mustang ever produced.

Wait for the electric motors they will add soon to the front wheels...to increase the power above 1000hp and to be able to meet the other countries regulations. Maybe one of the last cool car...but since they didn't talked about the engine and it will "only" make 800hp I'm afraid it will be an EcoBoost V6 with electric motors!

The thing I love about Ford is their CEO actually races Ford Mustangs at sanctioned IMSA events. Not only is that putting your money where your mouth is, but it also means he can give feedback to his engineers. He doesn't have to, but it's cool that he does.

The price makes sense because this thing has all the goods. Price is based on R&D and cost of materials and assembly, not based on prestige like a Maserati or other cars like that. If you actually look at the list of all the things this car has and also realize how few will be made, the price is totally justified
If the weight is anywhere near expected this thing will flat out MOVE. If it is a Coyote or Vodoo engine the potential mods are mind blowing. Another car to dream about.

i bet its twin turbo. twin turbo coyotes make 1000 hp no problem. basically just a v8 ecoboost.

Ford announced their goal for the Mustang GTD Supercar is setting a new sub 7 minute lap record at the Nurburgring. From watching test videos with Joey Hand driving. I believe this badass Mustang will break that record. I also believe like the Ford GT. The Mustang GTD SuperCar will be a fantastic investment car.

@mandoblack8654 waste of time and money? Some people like driving their cars to the limit trying to improve their skill or just having fun lapping a course, a lot of people find drag racing boring just going in a straight line. I enjoy watching/doing both 🤷🏼♂️

You'd have to look into what series they are planning to race in for a minimum number of homologation units they would need to produce.
If what I have is correct, those things will be over 400k out the door.

@@inyoface1641 daily driving carbon ceramic brakes is the best thing you can experience. Great performance, no brakes dust, no rust, and you ll most likely never change the disc under normal driving conditions (I mean if you don t track the car). And if you order your car with ceramic brakes, when times come to change them, if you re not happy, just put regular discs! There are absolutely no cons in having carbon ceramic brakes imho. I love mine on my C7 Z06/Z07!
Carbon drive shaft and ceramic brakes are not new on Mustangs. Neither is the dry sump system. So what's your point?

I currently own 11 cars with carbon ceramic brakes. If you think those are the best brakes you can get for daily use, you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Not even close to being dodge. Dodge made a huge mistake by hemi everything and hellcat everything without fuel efficient models to offset their gas guzzling hellcat sedan hellcat coupe, hellcat suv, hellcat crossover suv and hellcat truck. Penalties and fines curb stomp their hellcat everything portfolio.
RUclipsrs are the only ones that will have these cool cars

Yeah, it's not fair really. I've owned more Fords than any of these guys, I'm getting my third Mustang soon, and I'll probably never be selected. Brooks flipped his GT and hardly did any content with it, has never owned a Mustang and gets a slot for one just by having a channel. Whatever.

Notice how they aren’t going after the equally powered 911 GT2 RS. They are shooting to beat a 911 variant with not much more than half the hp.
Other than at the n’ring the new GT3 RS is dominating every track which is why it’s the car to aim for, far quicker than a GT2 RS tbh due to its insane downforce.
Although Porsche will be along with a new GT2 soon…

I've owned a 67 Ford Mustang inline 6, 3 speed that I loved, but that engine, and stick combo just didn't cut it. But, in 91, I bought a brand new GT Mustang, much better on the stick/engine combo, I used to do the 3 1/2 hour drive to Vegas in 2 1/2 shaving off an hour. Those were the days, and I can't wait to see this new iteration of the Mustang hit the streets. Probably the last of the pure muscle Mustang we will see, and you are so lucky, and privileged to get an allocation, can't wait to see you put it through it's paces! 👍😎✌🗽

Over 800 HP numbers not final yet like what day did what the Shelby GT500 they just said over 700 horsepower Plus at first then later it was final at 760
This car is a complete waste for just 1/4 mile dragstrips. Might as well just get a GT500 and mod it. This is for the racetrack with turns. Some cases will be a collector car kept in a garage or bought and sold later for profit like the Ford GT (although not as extreme).

This is comparable to GT2rs, not GT3rs. Whole point of GT3 is track perfomance while retaining NA high revving engine.

Always been a Covette guy for American cars, never a big Mustang fan but props to Ford for this, thats an expensive Mustang though (yes I understand the complexity of this car). I've always loved the Ford GT however, and the GT350R I can appreciate, (never cared for Mustangs that dont handle well). This new GTD is pretty wild. I wonder what the weight will be. I know this is COMPLETELY different than the Dark Horse but that weighs so much and I'm not a big fan of heavy cars. Thanks for the content and congrats Brooks.

Yeah isn’t sweating at all, it could be close to a GT3 RS maybe I don’t know because it has 800hp but the competitor will be the GT2 RS because the GT3 RS have to much HP deficit and the mustang will have no chance against the 992 GT2 RS
@@CLSTRN911it’s going to be a battle between the 2025 C8 ZR1, 2025 GTD, and the 2025 GT2 RS 992. From what I’m noticing Porsches are way over hyped. C8 Z06 set a quicker lap time than the new 992 gt3 rs at NEVERA track in Europe. It also set a quicker lap time than the 2018 GT2RS at NEVERA and CTMP. The Nurburgring is going to be a challenge since that’s Porsches home track, they have way more hours of experience there than any other driver. And I doubt Porsche will allow their professional driver to set times with other manufacturers cars. Ferrari is wiping Porsches best cars on most tracks world wide with their SF90. Mclaren is also wiping Porsches best track cars with their Senna world wide, they hold more track records than the gt2 rs and gt3 rs.

This is what I always wanted the Mustang to become. Major props to Ford for pulling it off. A truly premium Mustang that isn’t attainable by someone who lives in a trailer park

The performance will be similar to a C7 ZR1 but with more weight less arrow dynamic but with 65 more Horsepower no 715 pound feet of torque.
It will still do a 12 second 1/4 time
He will race it against '1000hp' cars that somehow do 13 seconds then as usual
