It will be nice to have a friend/ guide like you. We don't have one but your video help a lot. Thank you for taking time on making this video.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Very helpful! I am planning on visiting Korea next week to visit an old Army buddy. He's stationed near Gangnam. I'm looking to stay somewhat close, and Myeongdong looks like a good spot for me. 👍🏻
Thank you so much for the information. Very helpful. This has been a question for me on the best place to stay during my visit
Thanks for the recommendations! I'll consider them during my next visit to South Korea. My recent trip I stayed at Yeongdeungpo and it was super easy to travel around. It was walking distance to Times Square.
Thank you for the video. Very informative and will be watching the rest of othet videos. Just booked our flight to Korean next summer. Love to have tips on affirdable accommodations for family of 5. Thanks!
Very informative, structured n soft presentation..tq sir
There are so many different options in quality and price near the palaces, Namsan, and Myeongdong. That central northern area of Seoul seems like the best place to find an accomodation for international travelers. Plus, it's in between all of the attractions, except for Gangnam.
This is so helpful, thank you!!
Thank you for this, this is very helpful ❤
Very helpful and to the point video! I’m hoping for New Year’s Eve to Seoul, we’re staying a week, so I’m thinking that maybe we should stay in Myeongdong and for New Years Eve in Jamsil to see the fireworks of the Lotte World Tower.

Thanks a lot for your tips🎉❤
Great helpful information thanks
Thank you - we are coming to Seoul for fist visit in January - our daughter has been there and recommends Myeongdong area .
Had my first trip this past Spring. Me and my friends stayed in a really nice AirBNB in Itaewon. It was really nice! And yes, it was quite a walk to the nearest metro stop! Still, it was a really nice area and we enjoyed our stay there!
If you could leave the name or a link to it I would be really grateful!
Thank you for sharing the tips! First, I wanted to choose Itaewon, but maybe I will choose Myeongdong
I was I Seoul in April after an 11 hr flight from Honolulu and we stayed in the Myeongdong area at the Pacific hotel. Great location and many places close by. Convenience stores, eating places, Daiso right around the corner. We could not use the Kakao taxi app because we did not have a Korean phone number. We just flagged cabs. I love shopping at Lotte World. Korea fried chicken was really ono! Lots of Japanese tourists in early April. The Cherry Blossoms were beautiful! We were lucky to avoid the yellow dust from China. When that comes in the Spring, air quality is bad!
My wife and I always choose to stay in Myeongdong. We stay at the Sheraton Josun which is right on Eulji-ro and Line 2 of the subway (Euljiro 3 Ga). The rooms on the back side of the hotel have a fabulous view of Namsam Tower.
Short walking distance to Myeongdong Night Market and Cheonggyecheon, with lots of restaurants and cafes throughout. Only 1 or 2 subway stops to get to Gwangjang Market and DPP, or if you choose you can walk towards them in the underground shopping mall that is parallel to the subway line.
I agree! To stay in Myeongdong is convenient
Thomas! Thank you for sharing your experience ;) I will definitely include your recommendation in my video!
There is restaurant at Séoul station where populaire workers go to have lunch well i love to eat there its a self-service restaurant not expansive so much végétaux o my korean eat à lot of végétaux
Tnk u
Thanks for the information!
Excellent video. Thank you from Madison, WI
Very useful.. thank you brother ✨
Thank you so much for this video. Great content. Can you elaborate on the reasons why Dongdaemun is not among your recommendations?
I can recommend two hotels, which are right next to each other near City Hall....the Travelodge (Myeongdong City Hall) and Hotel Thomas, both were excellent and didn't bankrupt me too much.
'Hongdae' is a MUST place to visit in Korea.
After having stayed in Hongdae in my first trip, i preferred where we stayed for our second time in Jong-no. It was walking distances to Gwangjang, the palaces, Insadong, and a nice area in Ihwa-dong.
Hi @monchbacs Where did you stay in Jong-no?
@@tinjg hey there. We stayed in Wonnam-dong area
Thank you for this 💖

Hi, Yong. Like all your subscribers, I enjoyed watching all the videos you did for travellers intending to visit South Korea. They are excellent videos. Keep up the great work. I am interested in visiting Seoul/Busan/Jeju. Can you do a video commenting the mode of transportation from one region to another, would you recommend traveling from Seoul to Busan then to Jeju or from Seoul to Jeju then to Busan? Looking forward to your video(s) and/or comments. Thank you.
Just arrived from trip to korea! We stayed in Myeondong for 3 days then to Jeonjo,Busan (2nightsx2)and then Jeju for 2 nights again! From Seoul took KTX to Jeonju then Bus to Busan, from Busan we fly via Korean Air to Jeju then back to Seoul for another 3 days! That’s my wonderful trip to Korea!
Perfect
thanks for the information. i would like to know for an extended visit period, of about 3 month originally i'm going to korea to look for a university in person since from my country is hard to get info. i was looking in the Seongnae-Dong Area. is that okay? is kinda near the university i'm interested on. but i'm not sure if is a good area or not. it would be nice to know what areas are good to stay not only for tourists. i mean affordable and safe areas. pleaseeeee!!
We plan to visit in late Sept early Oct 2023 you said you may be visiting hotel accommodations if you haven"t yet may you tell us about Stanford Hotel Myeongdong or Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Seoul Myeongdong. Can we do a day tour to Jeju Island or do we have to stay overnight. Thank you.
Done deal - thanks for the tips..just booked our hotel at oriens hotel & residences at myeondong - only one that we can get for 5 people...just need to get from airport to myeongdong lol
What about staying near Insadong? Thank you for this video!
Our 1st time family vacation this coming May soon. Was planning to stay in New Seoul Hotel or any hotel recommendation please with free breakfast so we can at least save😉. Preferrably in myeongdong area or Airbnb or hostel will do. Thanks ahead
Please review renovated pacific hotel thanks
My friend lives in Mokdong but says it is not so good for staying in. She has recommended I look for airbnb in Gongdeok. Would this be OK in your opinion?
I will have 3 nights in Seoul so I definitely choose Myeong-dong.
So I want to experience more of the night markets and more of the food scene where would out of these 3 would I want to stay? It is also my first time going to South Korea.
We have 22 hrs layover, GIMPO international airport arrival at 10:15 pm, and then the next fligth will be 8:40pm but its in another airport, in INCHEON , where should we stay for a night to have the best time? Thanks.
Hi,I am a first timer going to Ehwa Woman University for fan meeting but I am on a budget tour. I chose Philstay Ehwa Boutique because it's near to the FM location. But I am also considering MK Liberty House where it's nearer to Seoul Station. Days before and after FM date, I plan to go Hangang Park, MBC Starpark and also Korean Folk Village. Which of the 2 mentioned guest house would you recommend to me please?
Would staying at the Intercontinental which I believe is in Gangnam, be the best for a family of 4 which include 2 kids?
Hi. Very informative. Thanks My Korea friend. Wondering with the lunar new year on 22 and 23, they are public holidays in Korea? Will shops, restaurants be closed in Seoul?
Yes, it's a holiday in Korea. Mostly shops and restaurants will be closed, but few restaurants will open. 😀
❤
Im coming to Korea in August... what city outside of Seoul would you recommend for visiting?
Hi! Is it safe to book using Agoda for Korea? Thank you!
Can you suggest which hotel in namsam with a great view of the autumn? tHanks
How do I get to Nine Tree Premier Hotel Insadong by taking the Incheon Airport Limousine Bus? Is it Bus 6005 or 6015? Where do I exactly get off? Is there a KAL bus that will let me get off nearby? Thank you :)
Hi Yong, is it inconvenient to stay at Shilla Hotel in Seoul? Is it out of the way ?
If we visit SK is it possible to see some KDrama actor such as Hyun Bin or Son Yen Gee and where? Thanks
Hey, Yong! Thank you for the great video. Would you mind to share the pins/maps?
Thanks!
Oh! Thank you sooo much for your Super Thanks! I really didn't expect it 😭😆🙏
What do you think about Fraser Place Namdaemun, reason I booked there 7 nights is they have suite with living, dinning and kitchen 43M,but I am trying to extend five more nights, would it be good idea to do Gangnam area, I like high end restaurants and unique boutiques, thanks for help.be there is May
Hi. Do you still have that map? Can you share it? Thanks for the video!
I'm arriving in Incheon airport and plan to take the all-stop train, but have a hard time deciding where to stay. Why? Because I am travelling 20+ hours to arrive to Korea. So i am deciding to stay at a nearby hotel like 30 minutes from the Incheon airport when I arrive and I prefer to stay away from crowded places. I am not very interested in the tourist attractions. I like be somewhere quieter and greenery. So i thought:
Example: Yeongdeungpo-gu, Yeouido, Conrad hotel. The same example you provided.
I was surprised you mentioned Koreans go there for staycation XD I did not know.
If I go to other hotels in Gangnam when I arrive into Incheon airport, I already know I will have to change Lines upon Arrival, which will give me more troubles XD I will be so tired too.
Maybe Day 2 when I adjusted to jet lag, I will move to another hotel like Signiel hotel. And move closer to Namsam Tower when weather becomes more beautiful.
Your information is very helpful. Thank you.
Please let me know if my travel plan is also a good idea. It is quite opposite to your advice because it is more suited for me. I think it is okay, but I do worry about language barrier because I am not nearer these central areas like Hongdae, Gangnum, Myeondong, etc.
Which is the best hotel to stay in hongdae area? For a solo traveler?
Is there anything for example individual room with stuff?
I m going on June, about the hotel of Hongdae is it close to the palace ?how much per night?
Hello, I just want to ask you for some advice. I saw your video about where to stay in Seoul. I have checked for a hotel and I found Sheila Hotels but I saw that they have different prices for different locations.
The best price with good reviews was Sheila Stay Guro. Is this in a good area? We are a family with 2 adults and our daughter, and we are trying to find a hotel for 6 nights in April from 5 to 11. Of course, if you have any other tips that can make our visit memorable, it will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time and attention!
Respectfully, Claudiu
Thank you for this clear and informative video! I was wondering if you could talk a bit about transportation and getting around Seoul, particularly options besides subway. I will be traveling with my elderly parents who cannot walk long distances, so I’m hoping Uber type of service or taxis are available?
Edit: NVM! I just saw that you do have a video about this already! I will check it out 🙏
Oh yes! The kakao taxi video will help 😉😉
@@yourkoreafriendakao taxi is great if you are a resident. I (ex Korean, now live in Australia) was in Korea last year with my son and had hard time using the app as I just bought SIM card for my phone but couldn’t use the app, I needed to put all Korean resistance details which I didn’t have… apparently unless you pass the security test (to prevent criminal activities), you can’t use the app!! We were stranded after Han river cruise tour and I felt so hopeless in front of my son that I couldn’t get a taxi nor kakao taxi. I’ve tried to ask many people (including staff at convenient store) to call the kakao taxi for me but no one helped me. I guess they might have thought it’s a new kind of scam using phone!! At the end, we caught one of last subway to hotel in itaewon and walked about 900meters at 11… living in Sydney I felt so unsafe as it was so late for Sydney standard! When taxi’s changeover time, it’s almost impossible to catch taxi! Get your hotel reception numbers handy and let them to help you if you need some help. In Hongkong, I had the same problem. They taxi driver didn’t speak English and didn’t know our hotel (we only knew the hotels English name, not Chinese name). So I thought I almost have to sleep in the street!! 😢
I am going to Korea in a couple of weeks. We are going to stay at the Sky Tower Hotel. How is this hotel?
Hi, I'll be visiting South Korea end of August 2023 till early September 2023 for 2 weeks vacation & I'll be staying around IncheonNonhyeon station maybe you can give me some ideas where to go for sight-seeing other than Seoul or Myeongdong . How is the weather during those time ? Is it cold? Do I have to bring any jackets or any windbreaker?
August is hot and humid
What hotels do u recommend for families?
To, super helpful :)
